Did anyone talk to me verbally? I have never had a verbal agreement with anyone. Diego told my mother that he would honor the price initially quoted for 21,000. Who's to say this won't happen again when I get there? I need it in writing from your GM first before I even begin to drive over there. Only when I have the car I wanted for 21,000 and I'm driving away with it, will I take the review down.

It really wasn't David's fault. He got Jose's agreement on the purchase price. Jose came out and said that there was a mathematical error. I walked Jose through the calculation. I'm a CPA and statistician- I don't make too many mathematical errors. Jose got flustered and rude. At that point David was acting worried. I feel really bad for the guy. If I could have given him my business at the $24,800 I would have but I didn't want to spend one dime that would have benefited Jose.

I don't see why I would change my response. You haven't done anything to fix the problem. Implying that David did something wrong is wrong in and of itself. When you shake on a deal you keep it. You're dealership wasted my Sunday and people should know that that is considered an acceptable business practice at Ourisman. I was offered a 5% discount on future services which is insulting that that remedies the situation. I've always recommended Hondas to friends and family but I will be sure to caution them off your dealership going forward. Thanks for reaching out. I can update my review to let people know that you offered me a 5% service discount to change my review if that helps, thanks for the link.

Thank you for the response. I would believe you as GM that you would not condone dishonest or illegal sales strategies. My wife purchased her Toyota Sienna from an Ourisman dealer - and we were ready to buy a Highlander from them- but we prefer the Highlander now. Mr. Gonzalez frankly confirmed my suspicions of slick salesman ship and misrepresentation when he stated: 1. "Mr. Monash quoted an EX model and not an EX-L" - my follow on email from Mr. Monash stated his quote was $500 below EX-L Invoice... which according to public sources was correct. So Mr. Monash claims he quoted off of invoice, and Mr. Gonzalez claims it is a model mix up. 2. Mr. Gonzalez claimed he's known Mr. Monash for years - yet the claim is Mr. Monash is new to sales... unsure what to believe here. Previous reviews from this review service indicate Mr. Monash has been with the firm longer than a few days/weeks. 3. Mr. Monash claimed he did not know the difference between MSRP and Invoice... sorry, that is simply too hard to believe - I knew the difference when I was 20 (a few years back to be sure) and I bought my first new car. Despite several emails with Mr. Monash, and the three phone calls we had to discuss the sale, he never told me there was a price change. He never emailed stating he made a mistake - a point we'd gladly except, but there is too much showing this may not be that simple. I emphasized to David I didn't want to drive to Bethesda the other day due to traffic - he insisted we come in. I told him I'd be driving after 7:30p - so I find it disconcerting that he only attempted to inform me of a price change after 7:30 - when he knew I wouldn't be able to read my emails/texts. I can see these arguments from both sides - that an employee made an honest mistake, or that a slick salesperson sends a low price to bring a client in, claim a mistake was made, and try to sell the car at a higher price. You asked what you could do: while I would also like to see a token made to make up for the three hours my wife and I missed with our children, I believe it would be right and prudent for your dealership to honor the original price offer from David. You would not lose money on the transaction, and you would have happy customers who would believe in the integrity of your dealership.

I'm really sorry again about what happened and you are 100 % correct when I know the sales person is doing something intentionally, I do not condone that type of behavior. Mr. Monash has been with the company for a few months, we know him from working at a different company from before and this is his 1st month on the internet sales department. If you get to know him personally, you will find out he is a good person. Please accept my apology one more time in behalf of the dealership and If you are still interested on the vehicle I can do $35,595 + Fees. Let me know if that would work for you. You are coming in at a lower price than our Virginia dealer due to your lower fees (which of course still comes from you in the end). If you would be willing to include the trailer hitch and harness for that price, I think we would have a fair compromise - and I'll call with a deposit tonight. Thank You.
