Need to Get Their Act Together I believe these guys have the ability to do a good job but my experience so far would not demonstrate this. I took my jeep in for an oil change, repa I believe these guys have the ability to do a good job but my experience so far would not demonstrate this. I took my jeep in for an oil change, repair of the latch on my console and a technical recall for steering damper. I left it there and came back about an hour later and it wasn't ready. Ok, no problem. I sat in the waiting area for another hour and a half. They told me I was ready to go, only to find out that they didn't have the part for the recall or the console latch but they did get the oil changed. Given that I had an appointment, I didn't quite get why they would take 2.5 hours to do an oil change and why they would schedule a technical recall and not have the parts (not a mystery what the problem was). I get they could be out of console latches. They told me they would order the parts and give me a call when they were in. Never heard from them. Time for another oil change so I tried it all again. This time I verified they had the part for the recall item. I called the number on the recall and they scheduled the repair for 12/30. I explained the other things needing done (oil change and console repair) and they said they could only schedule the recall repair and I had to call the local service number to schedule anything else. Ok. I called the Ourisman Chrysler Jeep Dodge of Alexandria service department and explained that I needed to add some additional items to my recall repair. They had no knowledge of a recall repair. Ok. Let's start over and I just set up a new service to get the oil change, console latch and tech recall repair done. They got two out of three this time and had to order the part for the console. This time they did notify me the next day that the part for the console came in. Yay! I'll set up another appointment. I can get a notice from MOPAR that the pressure in my back left tire is off by 1 PSI, nice to know, but they can't track their service requirements. It appears their service operations need to catch up with their technology. Dealer doesn't seem to be plugged into corporate and vice versa. Everyone was nice and helpful as they could be but it is frustrating none the less when this could have all been avoided. Everything is under warranty so this is not about price/money. Just inconvenience. Bonus: They provided VA state inspection and didn't charge me. Not sure if this was a gift or a mistake. We'll see. More
