Went to make a deal on a RAM 1500 based of the internet pricing ($37.6K roughly). It was a great deal and it seemed like they were being honest in their advertisements after communicating with the salespe pricing ($37.6K roughly). It was a 2018 with 45.6K miles. Well low and behold within the first minute of me sitting there, they marked up the MSRP by $5000 more than the advertised price because it was a “popular vehicle”. In the end they offered me about $40K to sell the truck to me which was $13.5K more than their advertised price (I understand it would go up with tax/title/fee. Then after producing an email from a dealer directly across the street for a trade in for my vehicle of $41,200, Lustine offered me $37K for my truck. Then when I completely rejected this, the second person comes and literally starts to argue with me about how much I paid for it in 2018 saying I paid an MSRP of blah blah blah. He then basically calls me a liar in what I said I paid and then runs to go get the original MSRP from his dealer site (completely unethical). He then then pulls his mask down and says let’s talk man to man, we both know why you want this vehicle and when I didn’t answer the way he wanted, he got aggressive and argued with me. I stood up from my seat, told the salesperson I won’t be disrespected, and I walked out. I have never been so disgusted in the way a dealership has treated me and if is the way Dodge Ram Lustine treats people, then I want no part of it. I will tell everyone I can to stay away from them. Horrible experience with the service department and escalated my concerns to Mr. Lepaige and all that was offered were excuses for providing poor customer service. A few years ago 2018 I called about a jeep wrangler and was told I was able to get the online price. It was not what I was given which should have caused me to leave. In the end I felt worn down and basically was left with a bad taste in my mouth although I am happy with the vehicle I ended up with. Fast forward to a week ago as I was coming for an oil change. I was contacted by Zeshaun and I told him of my previous experience. I said it was very unlikely that I would buy again. Because he was not pushy and decent I gave him a chance. He brought me over to a new 2021 Wrangler Sahara Altitude in snazzberry pearl. We talked and I gave him a chance. We drove around the parking lot and talked. He mentioned his humble beginnings and perspective and plans. He believes that its all about the personal experience above all else. He is the one who got me in the door and if he had shown me another color I wouldn't have considered it. He may be young but he gets it.. Daniel saw me as I was talking to Zeshaun and remembered me from before which was surprising after 3 years He caught wind of my previous experience and took the dealer markup of 5k right off the top.before we got started. He is a hard negotiator but he is fair. I know that in the end you need to make money but it felt less forced and more personable which was nice. In the end my experience was much more favorable overall. I had all but written off Lustine before Zeshaun but now I would consider returning. I am.willing to travel or pay a little extra for service that doesn't feel rushed. The extra polish goes a long way and the pairing did well to play off each other's strengths. More
I arrived at the dealership and had the pleasure of meeting and interacting with Ashley. He was straightforward and helped us understand the features of the Jeep Grand Cherokee L. Unfortunately, we could not come to terms with David, who was the sales manager on duty. He would not fully honor the FCA affiliate pricing nad he included a $5000 dealer markup on the vehicle. This dealership wanted an SUV with an MSRP of $65K in excess of $75K after taxes. Using the FCA Affiliate code, the price after taxes, without any unnecessary fees and dealer markup, should have been around $66-67K. Needless to say, after some back and forth, we left. I really don't know why we bother coming to Lustine; this is the second time in four or five years that we've walked out of the dealership because of absurd pricing. Ashley was great though, and a good talent that's being hamstrung by management. I also visited the dealership on 8/8 and was greeted by Marcel. The truck I wanted to look at wasn't on the lot at the time so he sent me a text with his card and said he would contact me once they arrived. He did not contact me at all and I had to look up the dealer's inventory myself and that's when I met Ashley. More
