Dear Sir, I'm sorry your experience did not go as any of us anticipated. It's entirely possible that a vehicle can have work done and that a previous owner had that work fixed done without filing a claim to the insurance company, thus, not showing on the CARFAX. To say that we don't disclose damage if it's not on the CARFAX is unfair. We can only disclose information that we are aware of. Also, we disclose any and all information that is on the CARFAX EVERY time as part of our effort to be as transparent as possible when selling any pre-owned vehicle. If a vehicle was damaged extensively it would not be sold as a Certified Pre-Owned vehicle, and would have been instead wholesaled. Despite your negative comments, I would still like to reimburse you for the detail you had done on your vehicle. I agree that it should have been returned to you in a better and cleaner condition considering and that matters could have certainly been handled better on our end. Please send me a copy of the receipt from your detail and the address you would like for the check to be mailed to. I apologize for the aggravation this has caused. We strive to provide the best experience possible and clearly fell short this time around. We seek to be as transparent as possible when selling new and certified pre-owned vehicles and I hate that we missed the mark with you as my standards are higher than what was provided. I’m not interested in any compensation from your dealership. You had your chance. So inferring that your dealership didn’t notice obvious overspray, a missing decal and a brand new rear differential after the car was inspected and even certified is even more frightening then my previous suspicion of it just being ignored. Anyone can tell in sunlight the paint damage and a certified mechanic mentioned the rear end as concern to me as a customer, he even inquired if it was disclosed. So it’s still very hard to believe once again it wasn’t noticed it was completely ignored. Your own director Jesse stated you aren’t required to disclose this stuff even if it was noticed. No laws or violations were broken according to him just a dealership that chooses not to disclose important factors in buying a car. FYI Matt I emailed you first before posting anything which you chose to ignore my email. Thanks anyway. Just a very accurate and honest description of my experience with your dealership. I’ll make sure I spread the word.

Dear Sir, I'm sorry we did not see eye to eye on some of the matters regarding car buying experience. I appreciate you trying to teach me about the business that I run and the numbers inside of it. I was indeed incorrect with my 4x multiple (estimate) as it pertains to selling pre-owned vehicles faster than new vehicles. This month's number (to date) would be 3.72x. I apologize for being off with my estimate by 0.28% as there are variables involved. As far as reputable dealers are concerned... we are an INCREDIBLY reputable dealer with an A+ rating and pending accreditation with the Better Business Bureau. I did discuss the issue with my team and how they could have better handled the situation. I'm sorry that we did not live up to all of your expectations and meet all of your requirements along the way. Please see the GM's response at the end of this reply. I was not initially greeted with this response. Edit 10/21/2019 5:53pm - The GM has edited his response to refute my claims. Matt Let me start by saying that I expected a much better response from you—everything you said is a load of baloney. Let me dissect every statement you made and provide you with some facts. I’m sure Jesse and Brandon gave you a fantastic description of their version of the story. “you feel that you were not kept in the loop well enough by Brandon” - That is an understatement. BRANDON never replied and got back to me—I had to follow up numerous times. I will attach a screenshot of my texts. There is a difference between ‘being kept in the loop” and simply not hearing back. I have yet to hear back from Brandon as to whether I can get the car inspected at a nearby location in LakeRidge. “It is not customary for a customer to take a vehicle to their mechanic unless we have agreed to figures. Used cars sell (at our store) 4x faster (roughly) than new vehicles”. —FALSE, it is a customary practice in the Car Industry for someone to ASK for an inspection ahead of time before speaking numbers. The inspection will have a barring on the negotiated price. If there are immediate repairs than those costs must be taken into consideration for the negotiated price. “ It's imperative that we keep used cars at the store and have them available for sale if at all possible.” FALSE—the price history online shows a downward price over the last 4 weeks (initially the Civic EX-T (VIN: 19XFC1F37GE018697) started at $14,600 and you are now selling ti for $13,800. IF your ‘4x turnover rate’ statement is true, then we would not be seeing a decrease in price over time. PLUS the car would not be on the market for so long, more than 4 weeks now. “The usual process would have been (at least I would have preferred) for a customer to look at a vehicle, agree to figures if they indeed want to buy it and to buy the vehicle if it passes inspection by the family mechanic. We have done this several times before.” —I understand every dealer has their own policies, but this was NEVER told to me at the beginning. Never was I told, “Ed we have to come to agreed upon price before we let you test drive”. PLUS Jesse even allowed me to take it next-door to Honda before we spoke numbers. Your statement is once again FALSE! “Perhaps there was a communication breakdown somewhere. For any shortcomings on our end I apologize.” Please see the attached screenshots. “If you would like to stop back in, agree to a deal for the car, and then take it to be looked by your own mechanic for a few hours at before you "seal the deal". I would be happy to do that.”—-PLEASE RE_READ the First review——I ALREADY PURCHASED A CAR FROM AN ACTUAL REPUTABLE DEALER. “I was our understanding from talking with Jesse and Brandon that you wanted to take the vehicle to your mechanic, drop it off and go to another dealership.”——FALSE, that is their own version of the story, as I told them numerous times I would bring it right back and it would be done at THEIR convenience. Based on your reply, Matt, it seems like the problem starts from the top of the organization down. Should I really blame Jesse or Brandon for these practices. At the end of the day, you are their manager and enforce these practices and are enabling them to continue. Your response was nothing more than a dealer trying to cover its tracks and show the public a good face.
