Terrible Sevice Avoid this service department at all cost. I brought my car in on Tuesday, August 6th, because my key broke off in my ignition. The service departmen Avoid this service department at all cost. I brought my car in on Tuesday, August 6th, because my key broke off in my ignition. The service department was not helpful and just sent me to parts to order a new key. After I paid for the key, I was told it would take a couple of days to come in. I went back out to the service area and asked if they had a loaner car. I was told no and that I should just take my car and use a wrench to turn the key. Well, it is a known fact that the model VW I have (a 2012 Jetta) has a problem with the key lock cylinder that causes the key to stick in the ignition, but the service people did not tell me that. That is why the key was broken in there in the first place. I drove my car to work where I had someone from my office bring me a wrench. I could not get the key out as it was stuck in place in the ignition. I drove back to the dealership and asked to get a loaner car. I was told there were none and I would have to rent a car and pay for it myself. It wasn’t until this time that I was advised of the known problem with the key lock cylinder. I told the service drive manager, Darren, that I didn’t want to pay for another part as I was looking to trade my car in soon. He told me my key would break off again and I really need to have it replaced. I, again, said no. Then, miraculously, he looked in the computer and discovered that the “housing” was covered under an extended warranty. He said the manufacturer knows of the defect and will cover the housing so I would only have to pay for a rental car while they get the part. He told me the latest it would be was 4 business days to get the part and I would just need to pay for the rental during that time. I reluctantly agreed. On Friday, I called for an update and was told the part was not in yet. On Monday, I called and spoke to someone in the service department and asked for an update. Rather than give me an update, this person asked who my service advisor was. I told him Darren and he transferred me over to Darren’s voicemail. I left a message and never heard back. I called back on Tuesday, 8/13, and again asked for an update. The service person could sense I was pretty upset. He asked again who my advisor was and I told him Darren. He informed me that Darren was out of the office. Why the other person did not tell me that…I have no idea. This service person then proceeded to tell me that my key was not in yet. I informed him that my key came in last week and I was calling for the status on the casing. He argued with me that the key was not there. Eventually, he figured out the key was there. He then told me the casing had not come yet and it was delayed and that he would request a status. I was never told that a delay was even a possibility. I would never have agreed to the repair, if I had known. I contacted VW about the issue and they said they contacted the service department. The part didn’t come in until Saturday, 8/17, at which time I was told that I would need to purchase another part for the car because the casing would not work without this other part. So, now, my repair and rental would cost around $1000. Additionally, when I went to pick my car up on Monday, Darren informed me that my battery was weak. My battery was fine when I dropped my car off. So, I went to my husband’s work to pick him up and when I went to start the car up again, it would not start. I called Darren back and advised that my battery was completely DEAD….not just weak. At that time, Darren said, “well, they did say they needed to jump it multiple times to get it started on Saturday and today.” Why this information was never relayed to me, I have no idea. So, another $100 for a new battery and also a tow from my husband’s work as it wouldn’t even take a jump. I have never had such bad service in ALL my life. And rude on top of it. I am in the market for a new car and would never buy a VW from David Maus. Went over issues with GM, Chuck Wrye, who offered me a $30 oil change for all of my trouble. Truly insulting. More

Expensive prices, and discouraged me to test drive the vehicles just because I was looking to buy a couple weeks out. Wouldn’t recommend. Confusing signs and no clear signs for guest parking. Wasn’t concerned with the fact that I drove all the way there just for them to tell me they moved the car that morning. Highly unprofessional. More

His service was so great 8 years ago when he helped me pick out the perfect Jetta that I had to go back last weekend for his help again. He spent a whole lot of time showing me different options until we finally found the perfect car for me. I really could not have done it without him. He understood my needs and really did a great job at making sure every aspect was covered. Also, Wes Joseph did exceptionally well explaining all of the features of the car to me including safety features that I otherwise would not understand. He was patient and made me feel totally comfortable to ask questions. They both also made my mother feel great about the buying experience and I appreciated that. I am recommending Fred and Wes to anyone who is looking to purchase a car. Thanks Again!!!!! More
