I chose a genuine GMC dealer as my local service center was struggling to find cause of clunking coming from front end of my Acadia van. After a full inspection that I paid $106 for, Orange Buick gave me a list of faults totaling $3,700 for them to repair. Including worn front axles, sway bar bushings and engine mounts. Good job I didn't go with their recomendations, as the clunking sound ended up coming from the front struts, which I had only replaced 8 months previous and was able to get replaced free of charge under waranty by my local service center. So much for thinking a genuine GMC service dealer would do a better job diagonising the problem on a GMC Acadia that I explicitly described to them vs a genetic car service center. I would be willing to pay their high rates if they backed it up with high quality technical service. But in this case I would have been $3,700 out of pocket and the broken struts that were causing the clunking sound would not have been fixed. More

I suspect the clerk was uncomfortable having to tell me week after week that Buick could not repair a Buick due to parts shortage. Not a chip even! Some other part we have now nicknamed the flux capacitor because whatever it is must be as complicated as time travel! Very disappointed. More
