Our Oakes Kia experience was terrible. Consistently poor communication, quoted pricing that shifted up and down over months requiring us to go back to our written notes to prove previous Consistently poor communication, quoted pricing that shifted up and down over months requiring us to go back to our written notes to prove previous offers, a quoted time of 60-90 days for delivery became 135. We began by calling Oakes in July for a pricing estimate and visited days later - All vehicles were selling at over MSRP in the summer 2023 market and Oakes quoted a $1k markup while the nearest competitor quotes $1.3. We were informed the pricing over the phone had been incorrect and there would be an additional $1k dealer markup added to our van - we showed the notes and names from the initial call and a sales manager adjusted the price back down to the price quoted over the phone. We cut some desired options from the van at the recommendation of the sales people to shorten the build time from months to weeks. After our order was placed, our initial salesperson (who had been excellent) left the dealership and Oakes made no follow up with us until a week of repeated calls attempting to get a final payoff number and exact delivery date only to find that the information we were given was again incorrect and we would be delayed from October 30 to December 15, frustrating us as the timeline could have allowed for the extra features we wanted to order. During this week we were ghosted by no fewer than three Oakes employees who promised to find out what was going on with our missing order and return their call... it seems no one wanted to be the bearer of bad news so everyone passed the buck to nobody until the fourth day of calling. The upside to the delay was that we were told the pricing would now be $1k under MSRP (instead of $1k-$2k over with the Oakes markup). The van was eventually delivered a week ahead of the twice-delayed pickup date and we were able to pickup a week into December. At pickup the price had been adjusted back up to MSRP, but again after showing our notes with the October re-quote of $1k lower the sales manager again honored the previous quote. From the overall dealership perspective, this is the worst vehicle purchase experience I have ever had and had we not left a deposit we would have walked away on a number of occasions. That said, there were some good folks who were visibly frustrated along with us and who did their personal best to provide good service on their part - Tori (our third and final assigned sales person) had a medical issue on the morning of our pickup yet still showed up to get things done, Jose was excellent getting us sorted with warranties, and the two sales managers who honored the lower pricing saved the sale. Our impression is that the overall management at Oakes and the note keeping / information network is disorganized and it is setting up their sales people for failure despite their best efforts. The final nail was the offer to send gift cards to customers for positive reviews - I would rather have positive service. We are incredibly happy with our vehicle but I hope sharing our poor experience can lead to the dealership make some honest changes. More

Went in looking for a Jeep that was no longer on the lot, but came out with an even better deal on a 2022 Kia Sorento.
