We initially went to O'Meara for sales because it's only a couple of miles from our house. As I'll explain in a minute, we had learned to completely distrust their service department, but we thoug it's only a couple of miles from our house. As I'll explain in a minute, we had learned to completely distrust their service department, but we thought we could at least buy a car there. We knew exactly what we wanted: 2012 Escape Limited, and from a lot of research, we knew exactly what it should cost. O'Meara plays ALL of the typical and odious games you expect from used-car sales: No clear price, endless rounds of "If we could get you to this monthly payment, would you purchase this car right now?," nothing clear about our trade-in, then the typical "Well, we can't get to that payment on this car, so would you be interested in this other car?" And so on. Hours utterly wasted! And to this day I have NO idea what the Escape we looked at was ultimately going to cost. Our salesman was a seemingly decent guy, but entirely clueless about the vehicle, not even knowing (or seemingly able to find out) if it was AWD or "4-wheel drive" (big difference!). And he didn't know really anything about the features of the vehicle. We knew far more than him, and he couldn't answer a single question. And, you ultimately aren't dealing with the salesmen anyway. They are proxies for the army of sales-managers that you ultimately end up dealing with, as they double and triple-team you to make the sale. So, I don't blame Gary for a system that ultimately hamstrings guys like him from being honest and having any real control over the process. The ultimate insult was when we pulled up the Longmont Ford webpage on our phone and SHOWED the sales manager that O'meara was intending to charge us somewhere between $5,000 and $7,000 more for their Escape than comparable ones (with even lower miles) at Longmont. His response: "We can't even buy a 2012 Escape Limited at AUCTION for that price! So, you have to expect that Longmont is selling buy-backs. So, beware! Those prices mean that something is wrong!" What utter garbage scare-tactics! We ended up buying our 2012 Escape Limited from Longmont, with a perfectly clean Carfax report--it was an early lease-return. So much for "buy-back!" I'm amazed that either Ford corporate or Longmont Ford aren't interested in suing O'meara for slander. The folks at Longmont just smiled wryly when I told them about this and said, "Well the truth ultimately comes out. We sell a lot more cars because we treat people right. That's the only case we need to make." Very classy. If you want to be treated like a used (or new) car dealer typically treats customers, with the typical obfuscation games, then, by all means, subject yourself to the crap at O'meara! But, seriously, if you want an entirely different, straightforward, and far better experience, then you should really look into Longmont Ford. We found it well worth the 20-minute drive, and we'll deal exclusively with them from now on. Oh, as a final aside, we had been having our 2002 Escape serviced at O'meara, due, again, to their location relative to us. But after several incidents of their service people actively screwing up our car (so that they could then make money "fixing" it), we quit going to them for service. The latest incident was taking it there for an oil change and getting it back with a significant miss and hesitation. They, of course, offered to "diagnose" the problem for an almost $200 diagnostic fee. But, having a lot of mechanical background myself, and already having clues that they had been screwing up our vehicle, I actually thought to myself, "This is running just like an unplugged vacuum modulator hose. I bet that they reached up and disconnected it just so they could get a nice 'diagnostic' fee." So I took it to a light-mechanical/air-conditioning place we had used, and, sure enough, they found that the vacuum modulator hose had been disconnected. IMPOSSIBLE for that to "just happen." You have to actively reach up along the side of the transmission to get at it. I complained to O'Meara's service manager. End result of that conversation? Shocked denials, and I just ended up on a phone and email spam list, with O'Meara calling and emailing me weekly to "inform" me that our car needed servicing. And what a hassle to get off of those lists! I say it flat-out: O'Meara is simply dishonest in their dealings as far as I can see. We have NEVER been treated right at that place! More
We were lied to from start to finish. Customer service is a joke, and the finance manager will put you off like your nobody after they have you under contract. We drove up from Parker to buy from O'Meara on a joke, and the finance manager will put you off like your nobody after they have you under contract. We drove up from Parker to buy from O'Meara on referral and word of mouth... We are so displeased with our experience and the sale of our new vehicle. Spend your hard earned money at another dealership, they don't care about their customers! More
My family bought a used Saturn Vue from O'MEARA the beginning of March of this year 2013. We purchased a warranty that would take care of the timing belt among a few other things. The beginning of June beginning of March of this year 2013. We purchased a warranty that would take care of the timing belt among a few other things. The beginning of June 2013 the car stopped running and O'MEARA had us take the vehicle to a Chevrolet dealer because the vehicle is made by GMC. Come to find out one of the serpentine ribs of the belt shredded off and went into the side of the motor and it seized up. (which the warranty that we purchased did not cover) I went to O'MEARA and spoke with a manager there and he stated that there was nothing he could do for me and that there is no warranty even if it were a brand new vehicle that would cover what happened! I could not believe that I had purchased a vehicle from a great dealership and they would not help me. I told that manager that I could have gone anywhere to buy a used vehicle but I chose a respected dealership and to have the vehicle only last a few months was not what I expected! (Oh by the way did I mention my family had previously purchased two brand new Ford F150, the first one in 2007 and the 2nd one in 2011.) I worked with Brian Bearden to have a motor put in the Saturn and worked with me on the amount it would cost to repair. I am writing this review to not only show that there are FANTASTIC people like BRIAN BEARDEN and JUSTIN CHAVEZ that have pride in the company they work for, but to let everyone know that one bad apple does not spoil the bunch! Please know that I will continue business with O'MEARA FORD! More
I leased a car here at the end of July. The experience wasn't very good, but buying a car is never really fun, and I wouldn't bother reviewing it just because of that. But 10 days later, I was called and wasn't very good, but buying a car is never really fun, and I wouldn't bother reviewing it just because of that. But 10 days later, I was called and told that I won a drawing that everyone who bought or leased a car in July was entered in. They'd fill up the tank, wash the car, and I'd get to choose a door prize. Okay, sounds good. I go in, and give them my key. They take me to the other room, where they tell me they are cancelling the lease, and to get my stuff out of the car. The reason I was given was nonsense (when Ford asked me about the experience, I said I didn't like how long it took) and I asked several times what I could do to change things. Nothing, and they already had my key. Long story short, they stole my car. Their is nothing in the contract permitting them to do this; in fact, Ford Credit (who financed the lease) actually said I should sue them for holding my car illegally. Two seperate attorneys, and the state attorney general's office, agreed that it was blatantly illegal and a breach of contract. Another dealer opined that they they probably made the lease to make their monthly quota, knowing they would never honor it. In fact, two other salespeople at other delearships shared personal stories of working at O'Meara, and why they quit (one of which I leased my replacement car from). Ford Motor Company itself was no help; despite owning a lien on the car, they refused to help me in anyway. Even after "investigating", they couldn't even tell me why this was allowed to happen. I would never go to this dealership for anything whatsoever (liars and thieves), and unless Ford does a 180, I will never buy a Ford vehicle either More
I went to Omeara Ford about 11 months ago. I walked in the door with 100% reviews from family and friends so I thought my experience would be with out a doubt professional. I stayed late one night with pu the door with 100% reviews from family and friends so I thought my experience would be with out a doubt professional. I stayed late one night with purchasing my 2012 Ford Mustang GT premium 5.0 and was just getting ready to sign the paper work, when an employee that was detailing the vehicle brought to my attention as well as Mike Miller, and several other managers at Omeara that there was flaws in the paint. It seemed as if it was sapp that had hardened into the paint from baking out front in the sun. All employees took detailed notice of the paint defects, but were adamant with convincing me to continue with the purchase of the Mustang. So they wrote down in the paper work that they would at any cost professionally fix the paint problem and had promised it would be better than new. So me being a trusting person, especially trusting of a company that has been in business for now 100 yrs. I felt assured of there promise. So I continued on with signing the paper work and their written agreement to fix the paint and make the car 100% perfect. One week after my purchase, they asked me to bring my mustang in and left me with a rental car and kept my mustang in their possession for one month and finally were able to convince Ford to warranty my paint. They then needed to keep my Mustang in their possession for and additional month to repaint my mustang. By Fords protocol the painter needed to leave hard lines where the new paint met the old paint along all windows and door jams because they would not pay for a full repaint. So I left and have had my mustang for almost a year and have had some life changes and need to sell my Mustang. I took my Mustang for a trade in for the truck I was after and the dealership mechanic saw that it was repainted and saw all of the hard lines from the Ford warranty and would then not offer to make any deal with me at all. They said they "were afraid of the vehicle and we don't know what any other underlying problems may exist since none of this was registered to car fax." So I ventured to many other dealerships and ended up with the same result. I then reached out to Omeara for a helping hand and was finally connected with Evan Omeara the owner of Omeara Ford. He heard my story and attempted to make a small effort to help and offered me auction pricing with an additional thousand dollars for the "inconvenience," in which did not add up to any amount that I had been offered from the other dealers before they had found out about my paint flaws. He then continued to say how "none of this is my problem and I hold no responsibility for any problems that there promise and flawed car has caused me." Evan Omeara was very in personable and showed that he had no moral obligation to help a customer that he had left with a burden in which I have no chance of selling. I am now left without help from a large family owned reputable buisness who thousands have entrusted with multi thousand dollar transactions. I only reach out to anybody that may read this to be extremely cautious with business dealing with Omeara Ford. It is unfortunate that an owner of such a successful and large company will not stand behind there loyal customers and morally as well as responsibly help such a helpless problem that has been left now with such a helpless loyal customer. Thank you for reading. I hope this will help you make a safe decision. More
I will never buy a vehicle from these fools again & certainly don't recommend them. I had the worst experience of my life buying their vehicle, was lied to the whole time I was there and getting the ca certainly don't recommend them. I had the worst experience of my life buying their vehicle, was lied to the whole time I was there and getting the car fax report was like pulling teeth. My advice to anyone shopping for a car is DON'T shop O'Meara even if its the last dealer in the state. (I'd go to Wyoming) More
Great service! Kyle Simpson was helpful and professional, he listened to my wife and I's needs. We visited other dealer ships and the sales man was not willing to go to bat to make a deal. The tactics used by this dealership are not only dishonest but they are very close to the illegality, arriving to take the cash from your hands in order to create pressure for their sale, they deny dishonest but they are very close to the illegality, arriving to take the cash from your hands in order to create pressure for their sale, they deny to give you any price without making you sign documents, my opinion in the way they conduct business is a shame for Colorado to have anyone running business this way in the State.
