Our nightmare has begun again. O.C. Welch had our MKX from Sept 2022-March 2023 for a leak repair… nearly 6 months. The first 2 or so months, it sat on their lot, completely negle O.C. Welch had our MKX from Sept 2022-March 2023 for a leak repair… nearly 6 months. The first 2 or so months, it sat on their lot, completely neglected and untouched which resulted in a forest of mold growth inside the entire vehicle; on the leather, the carpets, the seats, seat belts, you name it, the vehicles interior was covered in furry mold, white, green and black. The car became a bio-hazard. They refused to make it right at that time, by buying the car back or replacing it, no matter how much i expressed how uncomfortable the idea of just cleaning up the mold made me. Instead they offered to change the carpets and disinfect the vehicle. In addition, they would of course fix the leak - the original reason we brought it in. Our insurance put in over $1500, and Lincoln picked up the rest as it was their fault for the mold. We picked up the car in March I believe, and had a lovely summer. Well our first heavy rain up north just happened (September) and I’m using a shop vac to yet again remove about 4” of water out of the tire well and carpets. The car already smells again. O.C. Welch is telling us to “bring it in again but they have a few hundred cars ahead of us to get out” - exactly what they told us last year. They are asking that we bring it in so they can look at it again, but warned us that if the leak is coming from another area that they didn’t originally repair, that we would have to pay for it. I am beside myself, and at this time have no intention on bringing my car back in to allow it to sit there for another six months. Lincoln motor concierge refused to buy back the vehicle as well. This is not the first time that we’ve had to correct this leak and feel LINCOLN and OC Welch should work together to relieve us of this vehicle. Lincoln has never taken responsibility of what I feel is a manufacturing issue, and for this reason, I have no choice but to explore Legal avenues at this point. This should have been a buy back from the beginning, regardless of my home states lemon law. This vehicle was purchased in PA as a certified preowned, we live in NJ and SC. There is no attempt from Lincoln to make this right and OC has never once owned or apologized for the agonizing 6 months we went through due to the horrific mold they caused in our vehicle. My 2016 MKX was a cream puff, light exterior and cream leather interior, fully loaded, and worth - on a good day, used - prob around 20k. OC offered me $8,000 hahaha …. and said, “well, it’s got mold damage”. Are they kidding? More
