Pam, As a certified Honda shop our techs and service staff hold themselves to the highest of standards. When it comes to what we would consider basic repairs, in this case a key replacement, on older vehicles we never know what we are going to run into during the repair. In your case it was worn out tumblers in the ignition of a 10 year old vehicle. If we are going to give a customer an estimate for repairs we are going to stand behind it and be completely honest with the customer as well as the charges. We would never lie to a customer, trying to sell them something they don't need, or use a Band-Aid to make a larger issue look like it's permanently fixed. We are glad to hear that both your keys are working for now, if that changes please let us know and we'd be happy to get the vehicle back into the shop to confirm what is going on at no charge and put an estimate for repairs together for you.
