Bait, switch, bye I write this one day after leaving Tarbox Toyota without a vehicle. I was searching for a white 2016 Toyota Tacoma Sport with a stick. Tarbox website I write this one day after leaving Tarbox Toyota without a vehicle. I was searching for a white 2016 Toyota Tacoma Sport with a stick. Tarbox website showed one in stock. When I called to confirm, Anna told me it was en route and would be in by the following Wednesday. I called and emailed Anna a few times including Wednesday afternoon. She said it wasn't in yet but would call me the second it came in, that she knew I was waiting for it. About an hour later she called and told me it was in. I told her that we weren't able to get there until the next day. She replied that to hold it I would need to put down $500. Also, I needed to know that the manager told her to tell me no negotiation. Full MSRP. I didn't feel the need to put a $500 hold on the car and told her I would be out to buy the Tacoma the next day. We wanted the opportunity to negotiate as ALL other dealers we had spoken to were willing to discount at least $750..at least. Her original quote was with a $500 discount Tarbox was now withdrawing. I called in the morning and confirmed they still had the truck. My wife and I drove an hour and twenty minutes to find that the truck, overnight, had been tricked out with lift-kit, big tires, rails, and wheels and over $5000 had been added to my cost. After test driving the truck we realized it no longer handled as well as stock and the new bigger tires in the front were scrapping the wheel well at full turn. We were not happy. The manager brought over the new quote (no details at all) boosting the price from $36,000 to over $42,000. No discount. His response to my frustration over the added stuff was I didn't put down the $500 the day before. We declined the vehicle. He offered to remove the rails and take off $1000. I asked if he could bring it back to stock. He said, "no way. Maybe a little smaller tires and take off the rails". That's it. I said no, he offered to take of $2000. Still "no". The truck was totally changed and didn't handle well anymore. We left disgusted and drove back another hour and a half. I emailed Anna on the ride back: Anna, We are beyond disappointed that your manager slapped on $5000 in options as quickly as he possibly could and expected a sale, full price, no less. Just feels dishonest. We brought a check. You wasted several hours of our time. Driving home now without a new truck. Thanks, Bill Anna did not respond but a manager called a few hours later to "clear things up". He denied they tried to upsell the truck and interrupted both me and my wife thoughout the phone conversation. He said they upgrade trucks all the time and it was really my fault for not putting a deposit on the truck. However, he NOW offered us the Tacoma saying he was willing to take off all the $5000+ worth of stuff and sell it to us stock. I replied saying that I couldn't purchase anything from a company I didn't trust. He reinvested his idea that it was our fault for not giving Tarbox $500. I rather sarcastically told him it was true, it was my fault. I should have given him $500 12 hours before. He seemed satisfied with that. On the drive home we located the same exact model and color Tacoma with a couple more of the options that we wanted at Atlantic Toyota in Lynn, MA. They discounted the truck $1800 and are delivering it via flatbed early next week at no additional cost. We are wiring them the funds today. After the truck is delivered I will leave a full review of That dealership. My experience with Tarbox Toyota felt like old school slime. I'm glad we didn't give this company any of our money. I not only took it for an extended test drive but I ended up purchasing the vehicle that same night. From the sales person Todd to the finance manager, the folks that clean cars, it was a smooth transaction. This is my fourth Toyota and my fourth purchase from Tarbox. The dealership is clean, all the employees are polite and caring. I wouldn't dream of purchasing anywhere else. I have looked at other Toyota dealers and no one can compare to Tarbox. They make you feel like family. More

My initial purchase was a great experience and when I went back to Tarbox after the accident they gave me a great deal on a new vehicle without any haggling. The process was quick and simple; they were even willing to return my rental car for me. In roughly 2 hours I was able to complete the whole transaction from test drive through paperwork and drive the new car off the lot. Kudos to the great team at Tarbox (especially Tucker, Jess, and Ed inFinance) for taking care of their loyal customers. More

Very clean, while waiting you can get coffee, water , popcorn. Downstairs is a complimentary Nail Salon. A place were the kids can play. I'm still amazed about the nail salon. When ever you get you car serviced you can get your nails done for free. More

I specifically ask not to have my time wasted and he did an outstanding job expediting my request. During that short visit he was able to appraise my trade in and although there were no 4 runner limiteds in stock he explained two were being shipped and handed me the spec sheets all in less than 45 minutes. Twenty four hours later i was in the dealership negotiating a price with Brian Clarke and Mitch Carter and in just over an hour negotiated a fair price for my trade in and a new 4 runner limited. I want to mention something very important during the negotiation Brian and Mitch they made it a point to keep the cash back incentive out of the equation stating " that is yours and its separate from what we agree on" which is very rear with the way other dealerships operate. I completely trusted Brian on buying my 4 runner unseen, he reassured that i made a good decision and i would not be disappointed; he was absolutely correct it was exactly what i was looking for. A week later i was driving my new 4 runner. The follow up was superb Brian answered all my inquiries in a timely fashion and continues to follow up with me.I am very satisfied that i choose Tarbox and happy that I had Brian and Mitch as my representatives. More
