In the beginning of my quest I placed multiple emails. Then received multiple calls...I just wanted to start my buying experience with test driving different brands I had interest in. I liked the looks of the Honda fit and the Yaris...and heard lots of good things about the ford focus. Well when going to test drive the fit, it took over an hour of my time. It seems we could not get to a test drive without giving him a ton of information. Then we had to talk to his manager before we left. Again I just wanted to test drive!...They did not have any selection and I lost patience. I advised Tarbox email consultant gregg I would make the drive to North Kingston if it was worth my effort. He asked if we could give him a chance. We took the drive. Well it was worth my effort. After meeting Gregg and explaining I do not want a pushy, sleezy sales person nor did I want to spend hours filling out paperwork ...my goal was to test drive the Yaris, thats all!!!! Gregg laughed and introduced us to Jeff. Jeff was great...took a copy of my liscence and said lets go see what you want to try out...They had quite a few to choose from and the color I was looking for....After driving it and speaking with Jeff I couldn't believe I was signing for a new yaris. I got the 1.9 for 5 yr offer which is what drew me to buy. I had Toyotas in the past they are the most dependable car I ever owned. I am glad I took the drive and very glad I had a great sales person! More
My recent purchace at Tarbox was a pleasurable experience. I would defiantly return to Tarbox for another vehicle in the future and will refer friends as well. Tarbox was the third dealership I visited in search for my truck but, next time it will be the first place I go. My wife and I felt good about buying our 2009 Highlander Limited from Tarbox. Brian Miller did a good job of following up with us after our initial visit when we were looking to buy a 2009 Highlander Hybrid Limited from Tarbox. Brian Miller did a good job of following up with us after our initial visit when we were looking to buy a 2009 Highlander Hybrid which was not in stock. He located a demo for us which we got to test drive. Eventually, we ended up buying the non-hybrid Highlander based on cost factors. Brian is a non pushy salesperson (which we liked alot) who was pleasant to deal with throughout the sales process. I woudl recommend him and Tarbox to my friends and familiy. More
A few days after buying my used car, I noticed a banging A few days after buying my used car, I noticed a banging jolt at around 30mph, I assumed it was the transmission. I came back back to Tarbox for th A few days after buying my used car, I noticed a banging jolt at around 30mph, I assumed it was the transmission. I came back back to Tarbox for them to figure out the problem and it was the motor mounts. They only replaced 1 and it did not stop the problem which leads me to believe it was not even test driven after the work was done, fed up, I took it to a repair shop near me and found that the trans axle mount needed to be replaced and that which was causing the banging. I'm disappointing in the techs & service at Tarbox,these problems should have been taken care of before the car was on the lot. Not to mention the clunky transmission.I wrote a letter to Ed Tarbox but of course he never got back to me. Because of all the hassle of trying to figure out what's was wrong with my car I would not buy again from Tarbox. I even pulled the Tarbox plate covers off my car.. More
I brought the car in for service. I picked it up and it was in the same condition, as when I had dropped it off. The service technician lied to me about the car having been fixed and the interior reconditi was in the same condition, as when I had dropped it off. The service technician lied to me about the car having been fixed and the interior reconditioned (the AC drain was clogged and draining into the car's interior). It took a phone call to the General Manager to set things straight. After this experience, I will never trust my automobile with this dealership's service department again. More
