Was very busy, but wait time was reasonable. Don’t like having a 15 word minimum, though, also don’t like having to name names which I don’t know. I was very disappointed to be told that I had to pay $150.00 dollars for a tech to find out what was wrong with a car that is under warranty. It is hard to believe that this is the first time that they $150.00 dollars for a tech to find out what was wrong with a car that is under warranty. It is hard to believe that this is the first time that they ran across an issue like the EPB light being on. I was told it had to do with coffee in the switch module that is causing the issue. And was told they would need to be replace the switch ( $ 73.18 ) assy, conso and the wiring ( $ 83.45 ) assy.conso. It is also very hard to believe that the parts are not covered by the warranty. The design is very poor by Hyundai, especially to put this console with these switch assembles right next to the cup holders. It also should be a safety issue due to shorting out the switches and causing the EPB brakes not to work. This also ties into the cruise control that does not work due to the EPB issue. Another thing to bring up is, that there our four open holes in the upper console area that can cause water or anything else liquid to fall in and short out all the switches. One last thing, I own a 2015 Santa Fe sport and never had any issues like this. I greatly appreciate someone's input and help to figure out why this wouldn't be covered by the warranty. Also, why the poor design. Thank you, Richard Hushion More

My car was towed into Tarbox Hyundai after suddenly not being able to be started without violent shaking and stalling. I was told by a man named Marcus it would be several days before my car would be looke being able to be started without violent shaking and stalling. I was told by a man named Marcus it would be several days before my car would be looked at and the dealership had no loaner cars to offer me while my car was in the queue so I had to spend over $500 on a rental at a rental company. That's not the main issue, though. The issue began when several days after the tow-in, I called to check on the progress and was told that my car was next in line, which is very suspicious. I just happened to call minutes before my car was looked at? An hour later, I received a call from the service center to tell me that they thought it was the spark plugs and also to ask if they could also perform an oil change, since my car was due for one, and I gave the permission to both do the repair and the oil change. That was Thursday. On Monday, I finally got the call from Marcus that my car was ready for pickup and the total would be $40. Marcus went on to say that he wanted to "run a test" on it and I should drive the car 1000 miles and then bring the car back. While looking at the paperwork after paying, I realized that the mechanic did run a diagnostic and the computer did detect a code P0303, which is a misfire in cylinder 3 and likely related to spark plugs, but aside from detecting the code, there was no further mention of the issue or the repair that I had authorized that was supposed to take place. According to the paperwork, the actual repair that was critically needed (and the original reason that my car was towed in in the first place) was not performed at all. Upon attempting to start my vehicle, the hard start and stall issue was still present. It was very late at that point and I was able to get the car started long enough to get it home. The next day, I called back and asked to speak with Marcus. I told him that the hard start issue was still present and he sighed and sounded really annoyed with me and said, "I guess if you want to bring it back today or tomorrow, that would be okay." I asked if he thought it was the spark plugs or something else and he said, "I don't know." I called a different mechanic at a different garage and described the issue and was told to bring it in immediately because that is an emergency situation. I showed him the paperwork I'd received from Hyundai and he looked at it and told me that had I followed Marcus' direction of driving a thousand miles on a code P0303, I could have gotten into a serious accident. He had the spark plugs replaced immediately and the car now starts up and runs exactly like it's supposed to. A code P0303 comes up when there's a misfire in cylinder 3, and the most likely cause is dirty or worn out spark plugs. The repair entails replacing the spark plugs. It is a very simple repair. If you drive on faulty spark plugs, you run the high and serious risk of your engine stalling while you are driving and crashing. I have a three-year-old son who is often in the car with me and I drive on the highway daily. If I had not consulted a second mechanic and if I had had my son in the car with me and the engine stalled because of Tarbox Hyundai's mechanics' negligence, I or my son could have been injured or killed. The mechanics at Tarbox Hyundai put my baby's life and safety at risk. To say that I am livid is an understatement. This is gross negligence and disgusting. The fact that the mechanics detected a very serious issue with my vehicle and had authorization to fix that issue and then not only did not complete that repair, but went on to tell me that I should drive a thousand miles in an extremely unsafe vehicle that they KNEW was unsafe, is horrifying and appalling. Tarbox Hyundai has lost all of my trust and confidence and I will never, ever be returning. More
