Boch has no intentions of selling used cars at the prices they list on the internet. Boch prices from the bottom-up, but they do not clearly disclose this. This price strategy provides heavy foot traffic to their dealership, as people are looking for a low price. Traditionally, people are used to negotiating from the top-down. Example: Traditional pricing dealer lists car at $15,000. You negotiate down to a price of $12,500. Deal done. Boch would take the same vehicle and list it at say $11,700. Then they would add shop time, delivery costs, and profit. They would then give you a price. This price would be highly individualized to you and based on: 1) your buying position; balance owed, trade, financing 2) your negotiating skills 3) how motivated Boch is to move X number of units on that day (These items are common with buying a vehicle almost anywhere. The real difference with Boch is the bottom-up pricing.) RECOMENDATION: Many of the above attributes are true with buying a car anywhere. Based on my experience with this dealer, make sure you have: 1) settled on a model, year, and know the vehicles details inside & out 2) know what your budget is and be able to pay that day 3) not a time sensitive buyer and are able to walk-away 4) have significant time (4-6 hours) to spend at the dealership DO NOT BUY FROM THIS DEALER IF: 1) this is your first car deal 2) you don't understand financing 3) you can't read fine print on the purchase agreement SIMPLY STATED: This is a traditional, stereo-typical car dealership. The pricing policy/strategy is misleading. Don't expect to be treated like you are number one; they simply do too much volume. If you are an experienced car buyer and know the art of the deal, you can get a great price. More
I would strongly recommend you come to this dealer knowing the exact after you've been to other dealers. I just bought a new CRV and they gave me the best price for the model. Nobody wanted to sell me knowing the exact after you've been to other dealers. I just bought a new CRV and they gave me the best price for the model. Nobody wanted to sell me the car as low as they did and I shopped around 5 dealers before them. I wouldn't go there as my first dealer. Also, before you get your cars, know the accesories that you want. You can get them cheaper online, for example Bernardi Honda Parts website. When I bought the car, I had the mindframe that I just wanted the best deal and forgot the sentimental part of the dealer-client relationship. All dealers want to get your money and this is no different. Just don't go there as your first site when you are looking for a car. Good thing that I will say is that they have the biggest inventory of Honda cars in MA. If it is not there in the color you want, you will not find it anywhere. A good recommendation that I have is that you can get a good quote from them chatting online. You can mention a price from another dealership (give real quotes no xx) and they will try to beat that price. That is how I got my great deal. Also make sure that the price they give you includes all fees online(except tax, paperwork...)and if they can send it to your email so you have something that you can print. More
Everyone in that dealership walks right by you even though you have been sitting there for almost an hour waiting for assistance. They are the sleeziest, meat-headed people with whom I have ever dealt though you have been sitting there for almost an hour waiting for assistance. They are the sleeziest, meat-headed people with whom I have ever dealt. I would never advise going there. If you do and are thinking about getting a used car... ...STOP! They will actually sell you a used car for the same price as the newest model. They preyed on my litte sister's naivety and sold her a 2004 Civic for the same price as the new one. When she reconsidered and tried to purchase the new car, they told her it was too late. Be careful going there. They exude all the negative stereotypes that car dealers have. More
My husband and I recently purchased a Civic at Boch Honda despite being warned away from the dealership by several people and by the relatively low rating on this web site. Boch was open until midnight o despite being warned away from the dealership by several people and by the relatively low rating on this web site. Boch was open until midnight on the July 4th weekend, so we decided to go there on Saturday evening after having a frustrating experience at another dealership. Overall, our experience at Boch was very good. The sales tactics weren't much different from the other dealerships we'd visited, and Boch did seem to have the largest selection of cars. As you would have to do at most other dealerships, you'll need to do your homework (know exactly what you want and what you should pay for it) and be willing to haggle. At the end of the day, we ended up with a decent price on the very popular Civic. Our good experience was due mostly to our salesperson, Mike McShane, who worked hard to make the process go as smoothly and quickly as possible. He was as attentive at the end of our visit (at about 10pm), as he was at the beginning. I was especially impressed with the fact that although it was late and had been a very long day, he patiently took the time to explain all the safety features and other instrumentation before we left. Boch Honda is an interesting place- bright, loud, crowded and overstimulating. I do recommend buying here with a few words of caution. I came to Boch after visiting another dealership and test driving a 2008 Accord- to see if I could get a better price. I was drawn by an ad, which I found was very misleading- it only referred to vehicles with a manual transmission, which was not clear. I was not in a position where I absolutely needed a new car, and could have left at any time. The salesperson I initially dealt with was named Luda- she was rude and poorly informed, and I decided to leave- at that point a classic "sleazy used car salesman" type intervened and introduced himself as a "manager" and from that point I dealt with him exclusively. I had in mind a bottom line price- well below dealer invoice- that I was willing to pay. After about two hours of going back and forth and actually walking out four times- only to be followed to my car and asked to come back- he agreed to meet my price. I did get a beautiful new Accord at a fantastic price but would only recommend Boch if: 1: You are willing to be treated somewhat abrasively and really don't care, and really don't care if these people like you or not. 2: You don't absolutely have to buy and can walk out at any time 3: you are in a position to buy that day 4: You are able to say "no" to high pressure sales tactics for ridiculously overpriced accessories and rip-off extended warranties Overall, the whole place does have kind of a sleazy feel to it, but if you do your homework you really can get a great price. Be careful when you come to the finance department. They cheat. Eventhough you see the interest rate, term loan, the amount you finance, but becareful with the daily pay period; they will put 45 days, it wi cheat. Eventhough you see the interest rate, term loan, the amount you finance, but becareful with the daily pay period; they will put 45 days, it will cacluate 1 and half month. if you ever buy a car at Boch Honda, you need to get you monthly number ready before you go there. Never do bunissess again with a dealer who cheats More
I too shopped around for the best price and we thought we got it at Boch Honda. They gave us the advertised special for a 2008 new Honda Accord EXL-(top of the line sedan w/ leather and heated seats.) The got it at Boch Honda. They gave us the advertised special for a 2008 new Honda Accord EXL-(top of the line sedan w/ leather and heated seats.) The internet guy quoted us 1000.00 over what was advertised on the website so you have to be an educated shopper and a smart cookie. Once I got my price- I was shopping for my mom who was actually purchasing the vehicle, we went down and test drove it and were ready to make a deal. What they don't tell you up front is that you can't get any special advertised financing with that price and they quoted my mom 6.74%. Not a good deal considering she was putting down 8 thousand and owns her own home outright and has excellent credit. Anyway "it had to be paid for then and there" and they wouldn't even accept a cashier's check on delivery! To make a long story short she will be paying off the car after she gets her first bill in. They get something on the back end of the loan that is why the interest rates are ridiculous compared to banks/credit unions. I am writing this to inform people- moms, grandmother's everyone, to know what they're in for buying a vehicle from Boch. Overall my mom loves the car, happy with the price, not happy with the finance guy/end of things at all. Be prepared, get new car loan rates from reputable banking institutions. It was late, we were tired and just wanted to get it done. We never had to haggle over price but we paid for it with an inflated interest rate and plenty of headaches. Overall our sales man Bob F. was very good but they distance themselves from the finance end completely. Watch for the advertised specials on the website, then find out all the facts associated ahead of time and you'll do great. Hope this helps! KCD More
I was not impressed with the service, I was there for over 6 hours and felt like the salesman had absolutely no idea what was going on. They even tried to sneak the Mass tax onto my contract (I'm a New H over 6 hours and felt like the salesman had absolutely no idea what was going on. They even tried to sneak the Mass tax onto my contract (I'm a New Hampshire resident). I went to Boch because they claimed I could get a "great deal" so I drove over and hour from my home to receive this great deal. Well, I didn't really get any "great deal" on the price of the car - I could have bought my car in NH and driven it off the lot that day for the same price. Which reminds me, I had to wait over a week to get my car delivered to me up in New Hampshire because the salesman didn't "feel like getting up at 6 in the morning" on the days that worked best for me. When I finally got my car I could tell the salesman was a smoker because my car smelled like cigarette smoke - not to mention my contract stated the car would have 12 miles on it. I live a little over 50 miles away. The car had 120 something miles on it when I received it. Does 12+50=120??? And oh yeah! I forgot to mention the interior was filthy and covered with dust and the corner vent cover had popped out of the dashboard. Whatever happened to cleaning and inspecting the car before the customer receives it? Absolute disaster. Worst car buying experience I've ever had. DO NOT to go to Boch. More
I've purchased 12 new automobiles in my life time. This has involved visiting many dozens of dealerships and experiencing the good (very few), the bad, and the sleazyest (very many) of salesmen over the pa has involved visiting many dozens of dealerships and experiencing the good (very few), the bad, and the sleazyest (very many) of salesmen over the past 40 years. As a result, I've learned to be very cautious and skeptical when visiting any auto dealership. I was recently in the market for a new Honda. After visiting 3 local dealerships, dealing with 3 annoying salesmen and 2 irritating sales managers, I stopped by Boch Honda. The first thing I noticed was that this was the busiest auto dealership I've ever seen. After waiting awhile for an available salesman, I found myself in the company of Jim Travers. Jim was the most affable, honest, helpful salesman I've ever met. No pressure, no annoying, deceptive sales jargon. Just friendly, helpful information and advice. Though I had no experience with any other salesmen at Boch, I'm very happy to say that I got a better deal than offered by the competition and had a very pleasant experience working with Jim. The process did take longer than I expected. Boch has a huge inventory and many of their vehicles are located on a couple of remote parking lots a couple of miles from the dealership. So if the vehicle you're looking for isn't on the lot at the dealership, it can take a while to find it, then find the keys for it, then move the cars that are parked in front of it. Also, there often seems to be a wait just to see a salesman (it seems to be a very busy place). You can SAVE A LOT OF TIME by calling their sales department the day before you come in (or at least a few hours before you just show up and have to wait). When you call, ask for a specific salesman that you know and trust. If you don't know anyone, I highly recommend Jim Travers. If you set an appointment with a salesman, and you know what type of vehicle you're looking for, he can have it ready and waiting for you when you arrive. This can save you a couple of hours that would otherwise be spent waiting for a salesman and searching for a vehicle you like. If your experience is anything like mine, you'll soon be driving a new Honda and be very glad that you went to Boch Honda to buy it. More
