I reached the store after much telephone and email communication. They were super. The sales staff was eager to greet. The paperwork and negotiations went as expected. There were service questions communication. They were super. The sales staff was eager to greet. The paperwork and negotiations went as expected. There were service questions and I was walked over to service personally and provided with the explination and met ome funny service staff. I have to say some of the reviews must come from people with far far far higher expectations than I have. Seriously. I bought a car. I think I paid a good price and now I can go back there with my head high because I treated them like people and they did the same for me. Love my Pilot!!!! Learning to love being a new member of the Boch Honda Family... (At least that's what they kept telling me). I do have to say I was told there were the pioneers of the "Ringing of the Bell". I am sure Mark D must be proud of his team. I will be back for my wife's lease that is up. It's a Toyota, but I am thinking of an Odyssey now based on this experience. (I also don't care much about whiny people, they must have been miserable to deal with anyway!) More
Researched prices on the official Honda website to find a good deal. Found a GREAT deal on a Honda-certified used Accord w/ low miles for $10,880. Drove an hour down to Boch. We walked around the lot browsin good deal. Found a GREAT deal on a Honda-certified used Accord w/ low miles for $10,880. Drove an hour down to Boch. We walked around the lot browsing and after 10 minutes of NOBODY coming to help us, we had to go inside and ask for help. They have me talk to Chris, their sales manager. I tell them our price range ($10k or so) and Chris pretty much tells me they don't have anything in that range. I ask them about the one listed online and Chris has another salesman named Kevin help us. Kevin brings us out on the lots and is looking at a few cars. I mention the price online and he says they list things online at dealer cost. However the prices on the windshields ($14,999 and up) he tells me to ignore (!?!). I told him I REALLY am only interested in the car I saw online, and so we go BACK inside so he can leave us sitting for 15 minutes (though to his credit he was nice enough to get us water). A THIRD guy comes out, mutters his name incomprehensibly. They pretty much tell me this car does not exist on their lot. Then they proceed to try and upsell me to a higher priced car. I press him and give him EXACT DETAILS on the car I drove here specifically to buy. He leaves again to check on this. Now we are left to sit and wait some more. He finally comes back 10 minutes later to tell me that they "sold" the car. I had pretty much had it at that point and they didn't seem to actually want to help me so I pretty much left at that point. Long story short: If a customer cares enough about a car to find it online, drive an hour to your lot and then asks you about the car, then you should probably try to find/sell them the car instead of acting like it doesn't exist for an hour and completely wasting my time before going "oh...umm...it's 'sold'...yeah, that's it!" This was the poorest experience of customer service we have seen so far in our trips to New England dealerships. You would think "#1 on the planet" would know a few simple things about conducting business and focusing on customer service. Shameful. More
I was in the market for a new car so I called up dealerships. I spoke to Darnell over the phone and he quoted me a price for the car. I liked the price as it was better then what I got at other pl dealerships. I spoke to Darnell over the phone and he quoted me a price for the car. I liked the price as it was better then what I got at other places plus I wasn't looking for the res but the price with res beat the one with just navi. I went to Boch in Mass and I was from NY. Long ride but I ws going to a hockey game up in Boston anyway. After doing all the paperwork with Steve who was very nice, we went to see Bob. He was also very friendly. We found a few minor things wrong with the car they sold us with the seats some indents in them,so after all the papwerwork was done we had to come back to pick up the car. When we came back most of the indents were gone just one was still there, as its minor, but we were told that it should go away and if it doesn't it is coverd in the warrenty. We had to wait a little bit for Steve before we got to finally go over the car and get to take it home. Overall this is a very good dealership, as they all seem pretty friendly. If I was in the market for another car and was heading up to Mass I would stop back in. More
I had a very pleasant experience buying a 2009 Accord LX-P from Boch Honda last month. I requested price quotes from 3 different dealers around Boston (Bernardi, Herb Chambers and Boch). One replied back LX-P from Boch Honda last month. I requested price quotes from 3 different dealers around Boston (Bernardi, Herb Chambers and Boch). One replied back giving me a poor qoute for a CRV (!!) when I asked for Accord. That was the end of dealing with that dealer. In the first round of emails, the other remaining dealer gave me a better quote. I emailed back these two dealers asking whether they have better offers. I quickly received an email reply from Gregory Gillis in the Internet Sales department at Boch Honda giving me a very competitive quote. I emailed him back a few times and his email replies were professional, decent, and polite. Finally he offered a very good quote which was much below invoice price (even after adjusting for the manufacturer to dealer rebates) and I accepted the quote. The phone call with Greg took about 10 minutes and that was best auto buying experience I had so far in my life. The next step in the buying process was to meet with sales person. His name was Bob Bif Fenerty. Dealing with him was like eating the icing on the cake. He was very nice, very polite, very professional and always eager to answer all your questions and getting back to you with answers or information if he does have them outrightly. I went in there, signed the papers in 15-30 minutes. Took another 30 minutes with the finance manager (Ms. Karyn Ingram) who was very helpful and professional. There was no undue stress or pressure tactics at any point. She tried to sell few additional things/accessories which I declined and she agreed and moved forward with the paper work. Next thing, I did was to go back couple of days later and drive out with my new Accord. Overall as mentioned ealier, the best auto buying experience so far. This was my second car from Boch (the first one being my 2006 Civic). I recommend going through the internet sales dept and dealing with persons like Gregory Willis, Bob Fenerty and Karyn Ingram who honours customers and knows how to deal with customers. More
What a shame that more people don't take the time to post a positive review when they have had a nice experience somewhere. It's perhaps a natural tendency to want to vent when things don't go exactly how o a positive review when they have had a nice experience somewhere. It's perhaps a natural tendency to want to vent when things don't go exactly how one had hoped (and I too share a negative experience, as a word of caution to others...), but I must say that we were very pleased indeed with our Boch experience. Once we had decided on the CR-V, we visited a total of 3 Honda dealerships in our region (Bernardi Honda, Boch Honda and Herb Chambers Honda of Westborough -- booooo to Herb Chambers!) -- an essential step when it comes to seeing the vehicles in person, test driving different trim levels, briefly comparing dealers' approaches, etc. Once we had decided on a trim level and hoped-for color, we did our homework online and worked to obtain the best possible web price quote. Though Bernardi is closer to us, Boch (likely due to their sheer size/sales volume) was able to beat out Bernardi's quote in the end. Their online sales team (in our case headed by Sales Mgr Danielle) was truly top-notch - responsive, polite and eager to help us if they could (but never pushy.) If money weren't so tight (we weren't planning to buy right now, but a snowstorm ice incident ended up totaling our former car...) we might have been a bit more forgiving when it comes to price, giving Bernardi the business - as they were truly friendly, not pushy, and a pleasure to meet/speak with as well. Once we made the decision to go with Boch, the sales process was just terrific. We were assisted by Marc Heroux, and he was -truly- top-notch; helpful, informative, and quick to answer any and all questions. On the night we took delivery of the car, he was wonderfully thorough, and left me/us feeling very well-informed...and we know that he will be a willing resource now and into the future. A genuinely nice guy who was clearly motivated by a desire to make sure that we were as comfortable and informed as possible. Our only complaint would be that our sit-down with our Boch finance guy Mo ended up being quite frustrating...though he -was- able to meet then beat our aggressively good outside financing quote, he then turned what was to be a quick "come down and sign the final sales paperwork" into a nearly hour-long visit, much of the final 1/2 spent with Mo trying to push AAA-esque car coverage and exorbitant interior/exterior Scotch-guarding-stye coating onto us - no thank you. Mo's attempts to do the hard-upsell were especially unwelcome given that my husband and I both had to be there, and so by definition we had to bring our toddler daughter for the trip to Norwood as well, when she normally would be winding down for bed. Given this, we had been promised that this would be a quick and easy visit and so off we went that night - Mo was clearly not pleased when we declined both of the add-on services, and his tone became markedly less pleasant - all of this as our poor daughter was hitting the fatigue wall and we were firmly-yet-politely declining him and noting that we had to leave (our paperwork was nearly all signed at that point.) Sorry for this long review, but it should hopefully prove helpful for others - go to Boch, ask for Marc Heroux - he's truly wonderful. Just watch out for those $$$ add-ons when it comes time to sign off on the sales paperwork! More
This is my third car bought at Boch in the last three years. I did an internet search of the entire North East Coast from Md to Me. Nowhere will you get as good a price as from Boch nor will you get as years. I did an internet search of the entire North East Coast from Md to Me. Nowhere will you get as good a price as from Boch nor will you get as strong a fight. Here's what I recommend. Start with the Boch Invoice Price which they list on the Internet as "Dealer Cost". Realize that Boch is a volume dealer and they make most of their money on the hidden manufacturer to dealer kickback or "manf holdback". For Honda this is about 2% of the base MSRP. So take their Dealer cost price and subtract 2% of the MSRP and then meet between this value and their "Dealer Cost" Price. Press even harder if you can at the end of the month and even harder at the end of the model year...they are desperate to have national bragging rights. Expect to wait a long time in the Finance office, up to 3 hours. So I drive cars at other dealers and get their prices, which are usually much, much higher and talk to Boch on the phone and internet. Once the deal is ready to go I make sure all the paperwork is ready before going to the dealership. In no case try and do a trade...sell it on Craig's list and only deal with Boch if you have cash. Don't buy any dealer accessories from Boch..go to HONDAPARTSDEALS.com for prices 30-40 less. Have your local body shop install roof racks, traier hitches, etc. Have fun and get ready to rumble!!! I visited Boch Honda showroom three times...was dissappointed each time. Customers believe they are getting a car for less from reading the ads boasting Boch Honda is the number one in sales...not dissappointed each time. Customers believe they are getting a car for less from reading the ads boasting Boch Honda is the number one in sales...not true. Customers are only getting a high pressure sales experience by believing a deceptive ad. Boch Honda writes their own unreal positive customer experiences on this site to offset the number of negative customer experiences...so beware On my first experience...I went into the showroom looking for the sign and drive promotion on a Civic..a salesperson took me on a test drive. The salesperson did not seem to know anything about the ad..when I came into the showroom...the salesperson turned me over to Mark S. the Manager. Mark S. is reflective of the high pressure sales tactics Boch Honda is the benchmark of for other showroom to follow. Mark S. took an hour to honor the ad. Mark S. was high pressure by adding on up front fees to the sign and drive lease...offering me nothing for my trade by insulting me...including free oil changes, service coupons, free title look up and other high pressure sales gimmicks. When I said the ad was on an EX...Mark S. became offensive and was looking to increase the up fronts that Mark S. promised to use my trade to offset..when I said.tha ad was on an EX..... Mark S. seemed to draw a blank...also the promotion was only on two cars...when I asked Mark S. about a different color Mark S. drew a blank..Mark S. also drew a blank when I asked about lowering the monthly payments on the lease....Mark S. also followed me outside with his clipboard over to my car..Mark S. is sleazy high pressure and smooth talking....the only smooth talk is I told Mark S. I have a dry sense of humor by asking Mark S. if that was his face in the ads..and on the banners on the wall in the showroom...Mark S. said he would have a lot of money if it were his face on there... The second experience was I placed a deposit for a one day sale on leasing a Honda Fit on the website..It was difficult to get my deposit refunded..when I went to the showroom in person looking for my deposit..Mark S. lied about my deposit being refunded in seven days..it took two months of my persistence to get my deposit refunded.. The third experience was when I went in the showroom in person to check out a sign and drive lease on an Element...was a deceptive ad...the only Element in Boch's inventory was selling at top dollar..I left the showroom and never heard from the salesperson again on each one of these experiences. To get your best deal on a Honda in Boch's chaotic atmosphere be ready to be dissappointed, pressured, insulted and come down on Mark S.'s day off...a below zero experience in every category.......................... On Sunday March 1st I walked into Boch Honda and I was there to just browse around. A man named Will asked me if I needed help and I told him I was just looking. Instead of being a pushy sales person and there to just browse around. A man named Will asked me if I needed help and I told him I was just looking. Instead of being a pushy sales person and asking a million questions he mentioned that at any time I needed help he would be in the vicinity and would gladly assist me when needed. I must admit I have only marginal knowledge of automobiles. About 15 minutes later I approached Will and told him my time was short and I had to leave. I asked Will for a brochure on the Accord, Civic & CRV. Will came back with a manager which at first was slightly awkward as I did not request a manager. The guys name was Marc Schloss and he asked me if I had a pleasant expierance and if al my questions were answered. I almost felt guilty for leaveing. Mr. Schloss asked me if I could return and test drive a viechle of my choosing. I remember Will offering me a test drive on any car I would have interest in and I declined. I did agree with the manager that it would be a good idea to do a test drive to break the ice in what I am looking at. To make a long story short I called my girlfriend and told her I would be late. I drove both an Accord and CRV and eventually bought a CRV from Boch Honda that day. I traded in an Accord with 175 K miles and received what I feel was fair value. Upon reflection a good friend of mine purchased a car from Boch Honda 2 weeks prior and said the place was ok but the music was blasting and the place seemed overly busy. I noticed the music just right not too loud and certainly not like a dentists office. The place seemed very organized to me. People who work their seemed to be happy as well. Thank you Will and Marc for making this a pleasant experience that I will share with friends and family. Regards, Steven Woodley More
I had a great experience with Boch Honda!!!!!!! I was pleased with every step of the car buying process. Seriously... it was perfect....Here's my experience: I requested a price quote from Boch at Car pleased with every step of the car buying process. Seriously... it was perfect....Here's my experience: I requested a price quote from Boch at Cars.com. I quickly received an email reply from Dan Jordan in the Internet Sales department. I emailed him back a few times and his email replies were professional, helpful, and polite. He offered to have me come in and test drive the 2009 Honda Fit that I was interested in. I called him, and he arranged for the car to be brought around to the front so it was ready for me when I arrived. As promised, the test drive vehicle (exact trim/color I requested) was ready for me at the time I requested. Dan turned me over to salesman Biff -- he explained the features of the car, etc. NOT ONCE did I sense a high pressure vibe from him. He was really personable, friendly, easy to talk to, answered all of my questions... and... he has a really dry sense of humor... he cracked me up many times..! Then we got back to the dealership and sat down to chat. I wasn't ready to talk numbers so I didn't bring price up in conversation. His manager, Mark, came over and told me about the quality of Honda cars, etc. NOT ONCE from him did I get that "high pressure" vibe AT ALL. I was so relieved. Anyhow, Dan from the internet department was great about following up with me after the test drive. Nice touch. NO pressure, just keeping in touch. Phew. So this past Saturday, I decided OK I think I'm ready to see if I can get this car! I walked into Boch without an appointment with the salesman (you should really make one... they are busy there and I had to wait a little bit) and after a short, polite meeting with Biff and the sales manager we agreed on a price that I was satisfied with. They took my trade-in, too. I walked up and rang the sales bell.. fun.. ! It wasn't stressful at all... phew........ So the next step in the buying process was to meet with the accessories sales rep. Her name was Tanya or something like that. She was nice but I already knew I didn't want any accessories.. I want to customize my car with non-OEM accessories.. she understood and politely left... Then the next step was to work out the paperwork with their finance guy Khalid. He was polite and friendly and very efficient.. all the paperwork was ready to go and I was out of there quickly. I had to wait a little while for the car to get cleaned/ready to drive off the lot.. so I went to the cafe over at the Boch Scion/Toyota dealership next door. There I ran into Dan the internet guy and we had a nice chat about how great the Honda Fits are. I told him that his initial contact with me really was so crucial in securing my business. There are so many dealerships who were wanting my business that I really could have been super picky about where I went. I figured that since Boch is a volume dealership I could get a good deal.. yeah I was right! Ok, so sorry this was so long but that was my entire painless experience at Boch. EEK I hope this doesn't sound like a fake review... I suppose everyone's experience is different. I happened to have a good experience so I thought I would share it. The only comments I have that aren't as positive are: THAT MUSIC!! They play this outdated top 40's music from I don't know when.. late 80's, early 90's?? It's awful. Not sure of the psychology of that.. maybe they think that's what people like? Not sure. And the speakers they use are of lousy quality... kind of muffled. Uggggg! Get some hipper music and some good speakers and everyone will be happier! But hey to have a no-pressure sales experience and then get a good price on a car... I can deal with the lousy music for a few hours. Also, the dealership is such a high volume place that there's a lot of people in there, lots of sales people around. Not that having it busy is a terrible thing, it just is an energy that you have to be prepared to deal with. But the salespeople have desks separated by some partitions so it's not that bad. Be sure to EAT before you go to buy a car.. the process takes a few hours and if you are hungry you could find yourself exhausted by the time you get to the paperwork process. OK, thanks for reading this. I'll post any updates I have. Am going in to get the car inspected today. I know their service department is crazy busy but hopefully I can get out of there quickly today... I scheduled an appointment request online and am waiting for them to call me now. Update: getting the car registration card/car inspection/misc. details today at Boch went smoothly. Service department was great.. all the guys in Service I met were friendly and helpful. They have a great system for checking in the cars for service and keeping track of everyone's cars. More
John McMahan was one of the best salespeople I've dealt with. He was able to find the exact vehicle that I was looking for (2009 Civic), and didn't pressure me into buying.
