Went to Boch Honda Jan 3, 2021 to swap out a dead battery. The positive cable terminal was slightly eroded and needed to be replaced. A service person made an appointment for Tuesday because part needed to be ordered and that was the earliest to get it. The guy said it could be done that day. Dropped off Odyssey with Sam Oliver (Service Client Advisor) on Jan 5, 2021. A couple of hours later receive text from him: “Hi Maria, the technician was able to diagnose faulty positive battery cable. We can have one ordered overnight and can be here in the morning, the cost on the parts and labor on that repair is $379.” I called and asked why part wasn’t already there?! After lengthy discussion, I asked to speak with the Service Manager and was put on hold so long I eventually hung up. Mr. Oliver called back and I told him I will pick up the car, please have it ready. I got in the car and starting towards the dealership. About 5 mins and a mile from my house Mr. Oliver calls and says he just spoke to the Service Manager, who spoke to the auto technician and it will only cost $275 to fix the minivan. I told him I will pick up the car, please have it ready and hung up. Two miles from my house and another 5 mins, Mr. Oliver calls and says he misquoted me. Now it will only be $195 to fix the minivan since they don’t have to replace the entire cable, and can just do the positive terminal. I told him I will pick up the car, please have it ready and hung up. I went directly to Miller Automotive, a local independent guy, and he said he had the part in stock, could do it, then quoted it would be around $30-$40 for parts and labor. The total ended up being $43. Boch Honda was trying to charge me for an entire cable, then only for the battery terminal. I can understand why the price may have changed from the entire cable to the terminal, but not the third time. Not only that, but they seem to be fleecing individuals and charging astronomical amounts. More
The salesman was nice. We agreed on a fair price for the vehicle over email the day before I went in. My dad had purchased cars here before and highly recommended the salesman to me. When I arrived I was not given the price we’d agreed upon. They kept trying to sneak in different fees and costs. They also told me I couldn’t get the financing deal (which my credit qualified me for) without buying a $2700 extended warranty. Which was a lie. Each time I said I wasn’t interested they brought in another manager who was “authorized” to give me another “discount.” I think I spoke with about 5 different people. Mark, one of the finance/sales managers came out and started yelling at me because I was on the phone with my dad occasionally discussing what was going on. This was my first time buying a car and I had to go alone because of covid. So clearly this dealership tries to trick and take advantage of young people, first time buyers, women, etc. Since my poor experience at the dealership I’ve heard other people explain similar things happen to them. I would advise you to steer clear dealership. Especially if you value your time. I went in at 10AM excited to buy a car and left at 3PM after hours of back and forth and ultimately went elsewhere to buy the same car. Honda is a great car brand and this type of behavior does it a disservice. Real shame. More
Service is consistently awful. Service managers Harley and Frank do not return calls or follow up with customers. Convenient location but still not worth it. I decided that I might want to trade out of my leased Honda Pilot. I hopped into the vehicle and left Cape Cod at 8:30 this morning. I drove out in my new Pilot two minutes after noon! Amin Abad was our salesman, and he knows everything there is to know about the vehicle that we traded and the new model. It is incredibly clean on the premises, which is obviously so important nowadays. Jasen O'Neil made the negotiation very simple. Everybody dreads going into the finance office, but even that was drama-free. I. highly recommend Boch Honda in Norwood! More
