I was made to wait more than a week only to have Sami instruct me that NoHo VW would not honor the TrueCar price offer they had made to me. To be clear: the dealership committed to sell me a specific car for a specific price. When I went to buy the car, they refused to sell it for that price. Even with the documentation of the offer (including price, date, and VIN), the dealership felt no responsibility at all to honor their commitment. This is dishonorable, unethical conduct. In response to the negative review above, Sami suggested she would work toward a resolution of the issue. I had to follow up with Sami a number of times because she repeatedly failed to respond when she promised. First she couldn't address the issue because she was coming back from a long weekend and she was very busy; then she was very busy working at the Volvo dealership; then the sales manager wasn't available. After 8 days of that nonsense, no resolution was delivered (or probably even attempted). It seems customer relations is as deeply flawed as the rest of the dealership. Ultimately, Sami said to me pointblank, "We are not going to honor the offer [made directly from NoHo VW to you on TrueCar]." That is a brazen statement from a women who asserts (above) "Our customers are our number one priority!" It's stunning how the dealership almost seems proud of their unethical conduct. I'm trying to imagine another business so boldly stating, "We refuse to keep our promises!" If I had researched the dealership before going, I never would have attempted to do business there. In 2014 the Attorney General of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts believed the dealership's owners had violated the state's Consumer Protection Act by "publishing misleading advertising and failing to honor sale prices and promotions." The owners paid a $175,000 settlement to avoid more detrimental legal consequences arising from the investigation. Further, they agreed to stop publishing the deceptive ads, promotions, and prices. Northampton VW clearly has not stopped the unethical practices they were punished for in 2014. As a victim of their deceit, I know this too well. I advise all consumers to steer clear of NoHo VW. (Also, check out reviews on Yelp; the pattern of misconduct I describe here is well-documented by many others who fell prey.)
