Please note- I purchased from North Shore Saab 1 month before Saab went bankrupt, your experience will NOT be the same buying post-bankruptcy. I spoke with Stuart online to purchase a new Saab, he was before Saab went bankrupt, your experience will NOT be the same buying post-bankruptcy. I spoke with Stuart online to purchase a new Saab, he was very quick to respond and was no nonsense. He was able to take 20% off the MSRP of the 93 I was interested in, and Jess took me out on a test drive (was able to drive for about 20 minutes and get a good feel for the car). There was no additional wiggle room for prices, as he didn't want to "fire sale" the cars and reduce the prestige of the brand. My trade was valued at below KBB, but I was not in the mood to sell it to a private party and took the reduced value since I was lazy. He was a straight shooter and passionate about the brand, I appreciated that very much. I was cross shopping other cars, but there is no way I'd get an Acura or Cadillac as loaded as this 93 for the same price. I was a little let down when I took delivery- the car was washed but not detailed, upsetting since it was sitting on their lot for a very long time and there were contaminates in the paint. Stuart did a great job showing me all of the features the car had, but he did not give me the Tech II options that I have read about from people online (alarm chirp, trunk auto-lock, etc). A couple of weeks later I took the car back to service a problem with the rear seat lock. Their service team fixed the issue in less than 30 minutes and I was on my way. I no longer have a warranty, due to Saab's situation, but I called to schedule an oil change. Their service rep was friendly and told me to wait another couple of months since the car did not really need to be serviced so soon. This is a plus since usually dealerships are looking to milk you for all of your money, I like when they tell you it is not needed from time to time. Overall I was happy with my purchase, but regret buying when I did- I am positive you can get a much better deal when buying now. More
Met with Jess Perez at Saab, test drove the 2007 9-3 2.0T. Was originally intrigued by the $3000 cash back offer plus the 3yr Maintenance. The car has very limited options and pretty much a no-frills 2.0T. Was originally intrigued by the $3000 cash back offer plus the 3yr Maintenance. The car has very limited options and pretty much a no-frills type of vehicle. It's front wheel drive? (not good for performance) In any case I wanted to see what my 2005 Infiniti G35 Trade-in would be, so I gave all my info. 3 weeks later, no response. 4th Week, I got online and sent a request. Few days later, I was contacted by Stuart. About 2 weeks later we setup a meeting to get an appraisal. (I've never seen anyone actually inspecting a car like he did...) 5 days passed, no response. So I emailed stuart, few minutes later he responds back with a quote $3000 less than edmunds.com Trade-in Price. So in short, there will not be a Saab in my future. The 2 times I visited the showroom, the sales people were basically chasing flies... complete silence. Figured with those deals, people would be flocking and fighting for a car... No wonder GM's been taken over by TM. But they're Friendly... if that floats your boat. More
