Hello Jessica, Thank you for your recent visit with your Tiguan. Our technician did complete a courtesy diagnosis of the check engine light while your Tiguan was here for a maintenance service. He found the engine had misfire data stored and scoped the intake valves. There was significant carbon accumulation on the valves which led to his recommendation to perform a manual valve decarb service. We did recommend performing a preventative fuel induction service at 66k miles, which you elected to defer until 77k miles. When we completed this service 10,000 miles ago, no misfire coniditions were present or we would have recommended a different solution. Our service team did offer to credit the cost you paid towards the service, offering a 10,000 mile guarantee as a gesture of goodwill for service loyalty. We will extend this offer until the end of this month if you would like to have the recommended service completed. If you have any questions please contact us at 267-956-1145.
