I have always been happy with the service provided by North Country Ford. For several years I had my company’s work van serviced here. I have been wanting to buy a new truck for several years. Last year I worked with Jake Olson, but decided not to purchase. Recently I was ready and Jake helped me get into the truck I wanted. Jake and the sales manager really went out of their way to help me after I made a mistake during the purchase. They didn’t have to, but they did. Thank you North Country Ford. The 1.9% financing made it possible. The only thing I really want them to do is bring back the popcorn machine for those waiting for service or browsing the showroom! I can’t believe that it’s 2024 and I still need to talk about this, but something needs to be done about how Geoffrey speaks to women on the show floor. I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt and went to the North Country Ford dealership alone to test drive a car that I had been researching with my father. Geoffrey very obviously judged me for consulting my father while looking at cars, stating “she’s nearly 30 years old and still having her dad look at cars for her”. I simply chose to ignore this comment and proceeded to test drive the car. This car was a gift from my parents, so they came to the dealership with me a little later on in the day to finalize payment for it. Before my parents sat down with me, Geoffrey thought it was appropriate to say “you think they’ll ever cut the cord with you?” Clearly, he was referring to an umbilical cord. He then continued to explain how he “cut me a deal” when his manager wanted more money for the car, but after he mentioned that my father and husband were coaching me on what to say, his manager let it go only then. Salesmen like him are exactly why I absolutely dread car shopping and feel like I need someone there with me in order to be treated with any kind of respect. The fact that this individual presumed to know anything about me or my family instead of simply focusing on the reason I was there was incredibly inappropriate and condescending. I would strongly caution anyone from doing business with this man. If this is how he thought it was appropriate to speak to a potential client, I am truly embarrassed for him. I regret doing business here and would have passed this car up if I had known this was how I was going to be treated before my family arrived. More
