I met with Scott from sales. After showing me a few cars of my choice I had decided on a 2023 escape, but was unable to buy that day due to financing. Scott called me later that day and found a clever way to finance and stated he would take an additional $500 off the car. I returned the next day to purchase the car, and just as we were closing the deal, right before he was sending me to finance department. I had asked about the $500 discount, that he had promised me over the phone. Scott then reported to me, he had ‘forgotten’ to include the $500 discount. Due to time constraints, I then said that we could just skip it as the day had been long, but I did require he would include a full cleaning detail on my previously owned escape, he agreed to this, and it was written in the contract deal. Fast forward to when I brought my previous escape in for the detail, the car was brought into the back and vacuumed out and slightly cleaned. Afterword I had asked him about the detail as the car did not look detailed and sent him pictures of all of the missed cleaning. He then responded that the detail guys were busy and he brought it into the back and vacuumed it out the best he could. I then reminded Scott of the agreement including a full professional detail cleaning. He apologized and offered me to come in another day and either drop off the car or wait to have the car detailed on another day. This would take away even more time on my schedule. I had mentioned that I would not be able to make time as I had already made the time and he was unable to complete the job. I then requested compensation of the original $500. I was declined this I asked for a gift certificate in the amount of a full detail cleaning at a professional car wash. I was also denied this I requested information on how to return my new purchased car as the agreement was not fulfilled. I have still yet to receive that information he did offer me $200 as a north country Ford gift card to use in the future for services, I decline this offer. I did buy my original escape from north country board and had a wonderful experience. The salesman in 2016 kept his word and was able to provide me with my needs. Unfortunately this year when I bought my car I was deceived and misled. I should have known better, when originally sitting down and discussing the price of a car salesman, Scott had changed the price, there was a significant difference between the price on the sticker versus the price on the Internet versus the rebate deal offer. With my inexperience in car buying it I had decided to trust him unfortunately, being so naïve led to more problems. Scott stated that he was new and unsure of exactly how everything works. I am disappointed with north country Ford and I will not be returning. More
