Everything seemed to go well int the begining. When it was time to sign the paperwork the price of the car increased, the monthly payments increased, and the intreset rate increased. Everything I was prom was time to sign the paperwork the price of the car increased, the monthly payments increased, and the intreset rate increased. Everything I was promised in regards to service for the car was all crap. Nothing was fixed, winsheld cracked, tires done. After dealing with North Coast I had the feeling of being screwed over. I have purchased several cars, and this by far was the worst experience. Even after having the car for 29 days with temporary tags I still have not recieved the title. I would not recommend this dealership to my worst enemy. Buyer beware! More
So I thought I found my dream car, a IS250. After talking to John on the phone and shooting off various e-mails with lots of questions, I thought I had the deal I wanted. I was coming from Michigan talking to John on the phone and shooting off various e-mails with lots of questions, I thought I had the deal I wanted. I was coming from Michigan (about 250 miles away). I had the money order ready, and insurance in place. All I had left to do was test drive the car, and take it to the Lexus dealer for an inspection. I get to North Coast and John greets me, and tells me he knows I had an appointment with Lexus and got the car super fast for me to drive. I get in with my friend and we decide to take it for a spin before we take it to the Lexus dealer. I understand it is a used car, but man was this car USED. I'll assume North coast tried to detail the major problems in the car, but i'm sure my 2 year old nephew could use a crayon and do a better job. But that was not the biggest issue, as I could look past the interior. We stopped the car and did a walk around and thats where we noticed the problems which would be costly. Chewed up rims, which caused the tire pressure sensor to go off, as the tires constantly kept loosing pressure because they were not on the rims properly. Very worn tires which John told me were new and would get me through the winter no problem. Lastly John mentioned there was a panel that was replaced, but was not sure which one. After walking around the car for 2 min, it was OBVIOUS it was the front passenger panel/bumper. It was a VERY xxxxty job, as there was CONDENSATION in the headlight. At this point I could not overlook how costly this car would be to make it look new. We did not end up going to the Lexus dealer, as we made our decision. We drove back and John told me to have a seat and he would be right back. I waited as Mike asked me if I was being helped, and I told him John was taking care of me. Suddenly John comes back telling Mike to take care of me, as he had something more important to do. Mike looked pissed at this point. I told Mike my concerns with the car, he said that the tires were fine, but all have different wear on them. He told me that chewed up rims are normal, because it happens when cars park and scrape the curb (who ever owned the car before must have been a moron, and couldn't park for xxxx!), and to mention that its normal, tells me Mike couldn't park a car. Lastly about the panel and Condensation in the headlight. Mike said its also normal and happens all the time. I"m sorry but I own a 10 year old Toyota and 4 year old BMW and its never happened. I don't expect that from a Lexus of all cars. In the end I told him this wasn't the car for me (NOTE: I was VERY polite this whole time). Mike seemed a little agitated at this point (I don't know why, this is his job), and said "I don't think you guys intended to come here to buy a car". I was shocked at this point. My friend mention to Mike that we came with CASH, and Mike replied "Uh Huh". Personally I felt I should have told him off, but i've never experience this kind of service before. Out of courtesy I looked around his lot to see if there was anything else I liked, but I was to pissed at that comment to buy anything from this dealer. Now for all you people thinking, "oh you're xxxxxxxx about the car, what did you expect from a auction dealer"...fyi I negotiated to only $400 below sticker, as I know dealers have mouths to feed (my uncle is a dealer). I could easily get this car for the price I wanted, probably in MUCH better condition. Lesson: Spend the extra $1000 and get a better car from a dealer that wants you to be happy, those dealers deserve the extra commission. More

I called Mike Sheyngarts and received outstanding service, information. I was especially pleased to be able to contact Mike just about anytime I needed some info. I asked them to throw in a set of wi service, information. I was especially pleased to be able to contact Mike just about anytime I needed some info. I asked them to throw in a set of winter tires and they did so very promptly. I bought this car over the net so there has to be a good feeling to be able to trust a business/salesperson with such a large transaction. It was all very positive. I am now driving a beautiful red Volvo XC90 and it has surpassed my expectations. The vehicule was extremely clean, fluid levels were fine. The car was shipped to me in a decent time. Everything happened the the way Mike Shteyngarts promised it. I would do business again with North Coast... Thanks Mike!! More
Reading the previous reviews, it is obvious that there are very different levels of expectation for the car buying experience. We were extremely pleased with the Prius we bought from John at North Coast, are very different levels of expectation for the car buying experience. We were extremely pleased with the Prius we bought from John at North Coast, and we expect to do more business with North Coast in the future. Here are some points to consider, however. 1. North Coast offers very low priced cars. That means that there are no donuts, coffee or hand holding of any sort. Some of the cars are former rentals, some have repairs, etc. They are pretty much the same as cars with major dealers' "certified pre-owned" stickers or some such. All things being equal I prefer former rentals -- I know the oil changes and other maintenance has been done on schedule. 2. You should pay for your own inspection of any car you plan to buy online unless you trust your own evaluation. North Coast was very willing to allow test drives, third party inspection, etc. 3. Forget super premium detailing -- that costs money, and it will cost a lot less if you do it after you buy. Forget the "full tank of gas", etc. that some dealers promise. These cars have pretty much the fluids they came in with. That's good, in my opinion, since I wouldn't trust the oil, filter, etc. used by most sellers anyway. I change fluids as soon as I buy a used car, and who is going to turn down a deal based on how much gas the car comes with. 4. They are a high volume dealer. The sales reps don't necessarily know anything beyond the paperwork on the particular car in which you are interested. Ask specific questions if it is important to you, and ask for follow-up if an answer is vague. 5. They don't have land lines -- they work exclusively via cell phones. That means each person is responsible for answering his or her own phone. Don't expect quick call-backs. 6. They are a high volume dealer (part 2). Don't expect much personal attention unrelated to the processing of the sale. That's not to say that the staff were not friendly and cordial -- they certainly were. It's just that they are focused on moving 200 or more cars each month, and there's not much time to chat. 7. They are not well organized. Don't expect that your sales rep can always make things happen expeditiously. Be prepared for some delays at points in the transaction. A little patience is worth a lot here. After all, keep your eye on the prize -- a really great priced car. In summary, they are just the kind of dealer I like -- no kiss-up sales pitch, no extraneous interactions, just "I sell, you buy". I recommend them highly to anyone who is prepared to take care of their own part of the buying process. More
On September 14, I searched on autotrader.com and found the car that I was looking for at the price that I wanted to pay at Northcoast. I purchased a preowned BMW X3. I worked with Mike Shteyngarts to purchase a 2008 BMW 5 series and the experience was great. Mike took care of my needs attentively and effectivly and I would recommend this dealership to others looking to series and the experience was great. The only reason that I gave Alex a 4 on quality of work was because he is still new and learning. However, he made us feel very comfortable and so far we are happy with how things went. Chris was also a bi was because he is still new and learning. However, he made us feel very comfortable and so far we are happy with how things went. Chris was also a big help in this sale. He worked with us on all the issues we were having and tried to make everything to our liking. There is no doubt that they both are working hard for this company! More
I have never dealt with a shadier operation that this one. I bought a Chrysler 300 from these guys off of eBay and right from the start, it was a bad experience. Now I have purchased cars over eBay be one. I bought a Chrysler 300 from these guys off of eBay and right from the start, it was a bad experience. Now I have purchased cars over eBay before, from private sellers and dealers, and the experience has always been at least satisfactory. With North Coast, there was no satisfactory involved. When I first called about the car to buy it at the Buy-It-Now price on a Saturday afternoon, I was assured by NCA contact Chris that he would get the paperwork to me on Monday. I had to fill that out and send it back and he could have the car shipped out to me in 24 hours. Great, right? Except not a bit of that was true. For starters, Monday came and went. So did Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. During this time, I called Chris, called other numbers I had for North Coast (where I was told to "just hang in there buddy"), emailed and even texted Chris' phone. Every once in a while (probably a 10 to 1 ratio), I would get some response from Chris stating "yes, the paperwork will go out today." But that never seemed to happen. Mind you, I was persistent because I had put down a $400 deposit and could not get insurance or financing or anything started before they sent me the paperwork. On Friday of the 1st week, I sent Chris a text that said if I didn't get the paperwork by that day, he could keep the car and I'd look elsewhere. This was the same week that Chrysler went bankrupt so there were plenty of dealers looking to unload 300's. Well the ultimatum worked and the paperwork showed up Friday afternoon. By 10 o'clock Saturday morning I had financing set. But because NCA turned out to be a non-franchised dealer, the bank said they couldn't go ahead w/ the loan. Within three hours, I had another bank set with financing. Good to go, right? Wrong. It took more than a week and a half for them to get title information to the bank to actually complete the sale! That's with me calling, emailing, and texting them throughout the week as well as my bank. My loan officer said she had never see such a thing in all her years. So finally the sale was complete and the car was shipped. THIS WAS ONE DAY SHORT OF FOUR WEEKS SINCE I SAID "I'LL BUY IT"!!! and it arrives at the house. Gas on E. Windshield washer fluid bone dry. Half vacuumed. Cup holders still filled with gunk. All four tires about 20 PSIs low. I mean they had it for nearly a month AFTER deposit and they couldn't detail it or even clean it???? Plus it was supposed to come with a GPS unit which never arrived and I know I'll never see. Did I mention it still took them nearly three more weeks to send me the title and I only had three days left on the temporary plates when it finally arrived? So far the car has been ok but has certainly seen rough times. The Carfax report on it said it was clean but I'm waiting for the next shoe to drop. Do not deal with North Coast Auto unless you can deal with an incredible amount of aggravation and shoddy delivery. They are awful! More
BUYER BEWARE!!!!We found a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee online, called and spoke with John. Who assured us that the vehicle was clean, in great shape, and had a fender replaced from a small dent. John ass online, called and spoke with John. Who assured us that the vehicle was clean, in great shape, and had a fender replaced from a small dent. John assured us that the vehicle was being detailed and having the oil changed and would be ready when we arrived in 2 days from over 600 miles away. I arrived at the dealership and waited for 1.5 hours before I was even able to see the car. It was not as clean as we had hoped, but still an OK deal for the price. The vehicle was dirty (very poor detail job). They said they had performed a complete inspection of the vehicle, and changed the oil. The mechanic was also fixing the hood shock (which keeps the hood up). I was concerned but went ahead and drove the vehicle home. Within 100 miles, the navigation system stopped working, and I was getting service engine and service 4WD lights. The day after I got home, a close friend inspected the car, who does a significant amount of body repair. He informed us that the axle was bent, the driver door had been ripped off it's hinges, there was binder wire holding the radiator on, and the hood shock was not replaced. There were multiple spots where bondo had been used, the paint colors did not match from panel to panel, AND the oil had NOT been changed (the oil filter was marked with a 4-11-09 date and the oil was very dirty--even though they had a fradulent service sticker and had reset the Jeep's computer.) We called and asked that they refund some of our money due to the problems with the Jeep. We never received a straight answer, and kept getting jerked around. When we figured out all of the lies we had been told, and never received a resolution from NCA, we were able to stop the payment of funds and we returned the vehicle. I WOULD NOT purchase from this dealership unless you are a skilled auto body repair individual who can inspect it with a fine tooth come prior to taking delivery. More
