I had a very great experience at North Coast Auto Mall. Their prices were the lowest around by far, and they got me a crazy low rate so after crunching the numbers it was easy to see that they were my best choice. They proved to me that I should come back for my next vehicle too. More

To appreciate better the comments about a sales experience provided by Timothy Herron (hereafter TH), it may help to understand the kind of business Auto World USA (hereafter AWU) is not. It is no experience provided by Timothy Herron (hereafter TH), it may help to understand the kind of business Auto World USA (hereafter AWU) is not. It is not a full-service new car dealership which also happens to sell used vehicles. Its inventory is probably from auction purchases (& trade-ins), with a business model like an auto wholesaler but with walk-in consumers as customers, rather than other dealerships. You are not going to see a fancy showroom with a complimentary refreshments counter & racks of fancy color printed brochures & selected models indoors under spotlights. The sales rep is not going to have a private cubicle/office; you will sit across from a desk that is clearly that of a person who wants to sell you a car in an efficient, no-nonsense fashion. AWU seems to make money by selling lots of vehicles every month with reasonable profit on each, rather than maximizing profit on every sale. Because such a model is based on transaction volume, the dealership is a busy place, with lots of phone calls & paperwork activity all around. A small amount of patience during the customer experience would seem the price to be paid for getting a better than average deal. TH greeted my son and I when we entered the dealership office seeking more information about a pre-owned, relatively low mileage 2012 Honda Civic LX 4-door sedan Thursday, just 6 days before Christmas. We had researched this model throughout our area extensively by Internet searches & this specific vehicle's history by AutoCheck. The questions remaining were: vehicle condition, price negotiable, available financing, what about the eBay auction for this car? TH patiently walked us through each question and, after checking insurance proof, handed over the key for a no-pressure test drive through the surrounding neighborhood. He even volunteered to do a quick under-carriage visual inspection of the vehicle before we drove off the (crowded) lot. Since our evaluation of the vehicle condition versus price was favorable, TH promised to fax a deposit agreement form (credit card funded) to hold the vehicle until completion of the sale. Since the fax was inadvertently lost at the receiving end, it was necessary to have another sent by email the following morning, which TH did from his cell phone. Before the end of business hours Friday, contact had been made between TH and our insurance agent for exchange of details. Several phone calls to TH were required Monday morning to obtain an exact purchase total figure. But that afternoon, TH led us to the business manager's office where we presented AWU with a bank check for the purchase amount, completed the purchase and financing paperwork, and drove off the lot with my son's "new" car within an hour or so of arriving, the day before Christmas Eve. -- AWU is not highly automated & makes use of paper forms, not electronic/on-line systems. -- TH will answer your phone calls immediately or get back to you promptly. -- TH will be frank with you about the negotiating room he has for the vehicle price. -- AWU has conventional relations with lender(s), so be prepared for loan "origination" fees. If you have independent sources of financing, be sure to compare with what this dealer has to offer. In the case of my son, who had minimal credit history, it is not likely that other sources would have been any more competitive. TH seemed interested in making this aspect of the sales possible & was happy when the finance person was able to secure an attractive rate. -- If you want zero risk on purchase of a used vehicle from AWU, make arrangement to have a local car dealer's service department do a vehicle inspection at your expense. Although AWU has a service dept, they will volunteer no details on the vehicle's conditions, at least based on our experience. After purchase, we learned that the front tires were both low in tread and in need of immediate replacement. The car needed its 30,000 mile maint. services, but all major vehicle systems checked out fine per the Honda dealer. There were ~5,000 miles left on Honda's transferable owner warranty, in case anything major should be found wrong shortly after purchase. -- TH has experienced first hand some "unfair" treatment in life, and (whether as a result or not, it's hard to say) seems genuinely committed to being fair to customers. He seems to have a good understanding of what is likely to work well for a particular customer's preferences and budget circumstances, and elevates these above his simple interest in making a sale to obtain a commission. -- If your preference is for a luxury purchase experience with a lot of "hand-holding," AWU may not be the best dealership for you. But if you are looking for a purchase experience that is efficient and respectful of your time, this dealership would be an excellent choice. Low pressure, or zero pressure, would be one simple description. Of the half dozen vehicles I have purchased new from dealers in my lifetime, only one transaction was more efficient and hassle-free, and that was an Internet "agent" purchase that required many weeks of waiting to complete and involved $250 commission payment to the agent who arranged for the no-price-haggling sale. It's easy to stereotype the "pushy, dishonest used car salesman" based on prior experience. But if you work with TH on a used car sale, you may find yourself, as my son and I did, thinking of the classic golden rule; Throughout the sales process, TH seemed to treat us the way he would want to be treated if he were trying to purchase a car that would be a good fit for himself or a family member. He mentioned that he has a family of his own to support, and if you have an opportunity to purchase a vehicle from TH you may be helping to eliminate that negative stereotype by working with someone whose commitment to "doing the right thing" seems genuine; it would be a shame to see him leave a profession at which he seems to do such a fine job. I received excellent service from Eddie in buying and shipping my vehicle from Ohio to Denver. He was very friendly and personable and responsive every step of the way. I also got an absolutely screamin shipping my vehicle from Ohio to Denver. He was very friendly and personable and responsive every step of the way. I also got an absolutely screaming deal on my vehicle compared to a similar vehicle if I had purchased it in Denver, saving me thousands of dollars. It certainly paid for the shipping cost. I highly recommend searching for a car at this dealership and ask for my buddy Eddie. More
I can say that this was not the first place that I went looking for a pre-owned car, but it was definitely the last place that I visited because they had what I was looking for, at a great price, and even looking for a pre-owned car, but it was definitely the last place that I visited because they had what I was looking for, at a great price, and even got me a lower interest rate then my own bank could get me. Seriously, from the time I first called until the time my temp plate was on my new ride, everyone at North Coast Auto Mall was incredibly friendly, helpful, and no-pressure. I'm definitely going to tell my friends and family to come here when they need a new vehicle! More
