I had been looking for a new car and had already been to 4 Hyundai dealerships before going to Cerritos. We surprised our daughter Saturday morning announcing that we were going to purchase a car for her as an early college graduation gift. Beyond stunned she was. We had no idea what to look for nor her interests. We didn't know a thing about a Hyundai and a Ferrari was out! There is much more to car shopping than "what will my payments be" which is usually always the main focal point and clouds every reasoning skill one has. So we were at the mercy of a sales person for help and guidance. But they don't want to help, they want your freshly written check. We arrived at the dealership, peering around waiting to see which sales person was going to open our car doors and quickly shuffle us to the nearest car. Wrong! We were greeted by a salesman who introduced himself as Vito. Vito asked us what we were looking for and lead us on our way. He explained everything the car had to offer, the functionality of it, the safety rating and warranty. He knows the cars inside and out and we found ourselves inquiring on models we didn't even intend to purchase. He was so knowledgeable and so pleasant to talk and listen to. Not once did he try to sell us a car. He simply explained to us what the car had to offer. We knew we wanted to buy a car, we don't need sales people to push us in that direction. We need a salesperson to tell us what we are spending our money on and learn about the car at the dealership, not from the manual when we bring it home. He was awesome to work with and if you do the simple steps above, you will be writing the same review I am. Now... when our college grad gets all grown up and on her own and she wants to upgrade to a Ferrari...she's on her own! My checkbook stays home and so do I! I just bought new Genesis 2013 from Cerritos Hyundai dealer. This place is great. The sales reps are very kind and professional. As far as salesmanship is concerned they "MAY" be good (but not the best). But when it comes to making a purchase they will most likely give you a false promise so that you visit their dealership be good (but not the best). This happened to me on 2 occasions back to back. It happened on Day 1 when I was confidently told a trim and price over the phone by David and when I went there it was like "Oh, I was talking about XXX trim". I turned a blind eye to it and thought maybe it was a confusion or misunderstanding. After all, David did make me test drive a couple of times and I thought I would give business to them. I was almost certain. Come Day 2 I get a VM from Alex (for a new trim I decided) and his VM said I should come in and they will make it happen (meet or beat the quote I had). When I reach there I get a shock from the manager. He said "If you were getting this price then why did you come here, you should have gone there instead". Luckily I had the VM of Alex telling me "come on in, we will make it happen". I played the VM to the manager and he did not have words. I will NEVER visit that dealership again - not because they didn't have the best price for me but because they lied to me, they called me in and then asked me why did I come in if I got a better price elsewhere. I guess the manager didn't even know what Alex promised me over the phone and Alex was simply bluffing by saying that he spoke to the manager and the manager asked me to come in. So...Buyer's Beware - this dealership is NOT recommended at all. I will try my best to make sure none of my family or friends or friends' friends go to this dealership. Bad prices are one thing, but bad work ethics and lying is another and that cannot be acceptable. I hate to give such reviews really, but what I experienced with Cerritos Hyundai is something unimaginable. I am sure this happens to a lot of people out there. So, if you have time to waste or you have extra money to give away then this is the dealership for you. But invest some time in doing more research and you may find a better dealership, a better person and above all a better price. For example, try Garden Grove Hyundai, Harbor Hyundai or Carson Hyundai instead of this one and trust me that you will thank me. Apparently Hardin Hyundai is # 1 in terms of volume but they also weren't that great.
