“$850 loss, Senior Citizen Swindled at Finance over Extended Warranty” My son purchased 3 vehicles within 5 years from Sky Kim the Korean Fleet Manager and Scott Kim the Korean Sales Associate. 2 of Extended Warranty” My son purchased 3 vehicles within 5 years from Sky Kim the Korean Fleet Manager and Scott Kim the Korean Sales Associate. 2 of those 3 cars were for me; I purchased a 2024 Santa Fe less than 8 months ago which was totaled in an accident. I bought a 2025 Santa Fe as a replacement. My son first made a deal with Scott Kim a few days before my wife and I planned on signing paperwork. Sticker price was in the mid $42K, and My son negotiated it down to $38K which was the price before destination. Then the Extended warranty started at $3K and was offered an instant discount to $2900. Then worked it down from $2600-2300, and finally reached a deal to close at $1750 for the extended warranty. This deal was made on a Friday to set up a bill of sale, and my wife and I planned to sign paper work on a Monday. Upon arriving on Monday Sky Kim took over the deal to close with finance. Sky and Scott cover each other on their days off. Finance had been given the deal my son made on the Friday prior and I assumed it was the same deal. After all my son has been a return customer to Sky and Scott. I was assured by Scott that I would be looked after by Sky and had nothing to worry about. My Son and I couldn’t meet up for a few weeks to review the contract details and that was when he noticed the dealership charged me $2600 for the extended warranty. This was an $850 difference than what was quoted. The Finance advisor named Arthur stated that these were the numbers given to him. They submitted $2300 as the warranty sale price which had a $100 deductible per claim and Arthur shopped for better interest rates to find money to cover the $2600 warranty plan which had a lower $50 deductible per claim. All this was explained in a way that was confusing to me, Sky Kim was there to interpret but he kept telling me not to worry and that the monthly payment is the same. My Son asked Scott to request at Finance on Monday to shop for a better rate to lower the monthly payments; Not to better the warranty plan and keep my payments the same. Either this was miscommunicated by Scott, and he did not give the correct bill of sale drafted; or Sky made a decision to swindle me and my son at finance. I decided to write this review because even after requesting a cancellation and refund, and an explanation of what happened; both Sky and Scott will not admit fault or accountability and apologize for the mistake. An apology goes a long way, is $850 worth ruining a 5 year partnership and a future of business?? I asked Sky Kim what he would think if i wrote this review and commented about my experience in the dealer survey, he seems to have no remorse and feels he did what was best for business. Maybe if Sky or Scott initially apologized for an irreversible error, I could have closure and be content with the purchase. Instead I find myself having to vent my frustrations on google reviews for future customers to read about my experience. More
