I've brought my car to this "official HONDA service dealership" thinking I would be in great hands of expertise and honesty, BUT NO. Just like any other service joe schmo they rip you off on the LABOR, dealership" thinking I would be in great hands of expertise and honesty, BUT NO. Just like any other service joe schmo they rip you off on the LABOR, the SERVICES, the PARTS, and they do not thoroughly check your vehicle. I've taken my Civic to this place for both its usual MINOR and MAJOR mileage maintenance and no matter what, there's always at least $500 worth of ADDITIONAL "needed services". EVERY Minor maintenance ive visitied to do is $60 PLUS A RECOMMENDED $300 worth of OTHER SERVICES. There isn't a moment when I've brought my vehicle in and there's SUPPOSEDLY something majorly wrong with it. This time on my major service visit they Tried to charge me $3,000 in service parts and labor... I got my annual major service done, refused the $3000 in services, went home and price checked and compared the list of $3000 in labor TO OTHER COMPETITORS and found out that most of the stuff on that list was either UNNECESSARY or can be done for 80% off their price. a couple days later after getting my major service done...MY battery that they said was perfectly fine and full of power. DIED. No, I didn't leave my headlights on or an inside car light. The BATTERY WAS COMPLETELY DEAD. no where on their list of things recommended to be checked out or changed was there a BATTERY notice. NEVER GOING TO BRING MY VEHICLE BACK HERE AGAIN AND WILL LET EVERY ONE KNOW WHO HAS A HONDA TO STAY CLEAR OF THIS PLACE More
My newly bought 2011 Honda from this dealership wouldn't start after 7 months of use so I took it in to fladeboe honda service dept. because it was under warranty. It wouldn't start for a few days straight start after 7 months of use so I took it in to fladeboe honda service dept. because it was under warranty. It wouldn't start for a few days straight but after only a couple months of having it had a similar malfunction and quickly recovered making me not think anything of it. When i took it in on my day off they spent an hour and a half trying to get the battery to fail and running tests on it only to tell me that they were not going to replace it because it wouldn't fail. I got it jump started by AAA so they told me next time not to let them jump it and instead get it towed there. I was very frustrated at this point and asked if I could have my keys and leave. Then another man who I'm assuming was the dept. manager told who was helping me to replace it. I'm very pleased it got replaced but obviously not that it took me complaining for it to get done. The manager should've looked more into the situation and known it was 7 months old instead of asking after my complaint and then trying to recover the situation. More

Had a noise coming from the driver's side front wheel well at freeway speeds. Brought it in and worked with Viviana in service. She called me back very quickly to let me know it was an issue with the b well at freeway speeds. Brought it in and worked with Viviana in service. She called me back very quickly to let me know it was an issue with the brakes and provided a quote. She even took pictures of the problem area with her cell phone upon my request. She did a great job and was very responsive on her cell. This is one of the best dealership service experiences I have had with inexpensive cars (non-German). The price was probably 50-100% more than a local mechanic, but for a small repair it's worth just getting it done quickly if the car is already there. And you know you can bring it back if something goes wrong or you're not happy. More
My wife I wanted to buy a 2012 White EX-L Honda Oddessey. In the end, we decided on Fladeboe Honda, about 5.2 mile out, not that near or convenient, but when we first went in for a test drive with Scott Self, he was courteous and accommodating, this was a big influence on our decision to drive 5 miles out of the way instead of dealing with another dealer within miles 2 miles of our home. So we went back, but Scott was unable to help so we were introduced David Chao to help us settle on a deal. In the end everything was going fine until we signed the dotted line. Seems to all change from there. The finance manager Reza Zanjani was impersonal, condescending and at time just rude. Not a smile on this guys face and we were writing him a 5 figure check. Absolutely appalling attitude. My wife an I usually don't care for the small talk chit-chat either, but there seemed to be an underlying of misdirected and undeserving silent contempt coming from Mr. Zanjani. Felt the old "give me your money and get out!" attitude, as if I ruin his day by buying a car and writing his company a check and had to make him do paper work. In the end, it was pointless anyway, waiting and reading in his office for an hour making sure everything is spelled correctly, our title came in the mail yesterday; street name misspelled, as well as my wife's name, but it was all spelled correctly on the sale paper. So we're not sure if this was a sincere mistake or predetermine negligence. But the poor service did not stop a Mr. Zanjani. His was nothing compare to the poor service dispensed to us by the Sylvia Illman in the service department. Our vehicle was purchased on 1/04/2012 with pro pack accessories package (Wheel Locks, Mud Guard, cargo tray), Karr Alarm, first aid kit. We were told that someone from the service department should call us by Friday 1/6/2012 if not, call the service department to schedule a drop off for the installation and activation of the accessories. No one called. We called on Friday 1/6/2012, first off, a woman that answered for the Fladeboe Honda service department was quite rude, telling us callously "you just bought the car, we don't have your paperwork yet, call us back next week." Shocked, because I was only calling because I was told to if I didn't hear from Fladeboe. All right, we'll wait. However, later on Friday 1/6/2012 Sylvia Illman called me back to schedule an appointment. Played phone tag most of the day. Finally talked on Saturday 1/7/2012. Scheduled to drop off at 10:30 am on Monday 1/9/2012. The time was not really convenient for us, but that's the only time available for the Karr Alarm people (3rd party) to come out and activate to alarm. So ok, 10:30am 1/9/2012 it is. We arrive around 10:35am on 1//2012. Bad news, the Karr Alarm installer in not present, and Sylvia, "don't know where he is and why he not there." So a two hour job will now be contingent on when "he" arrives at the shop which Sylvia has no idea and would not give us even an estimation. We pressed, she then came back with 2pm. Again, should have been done by 12-12:30pm has now inflated to 2pm, 3 and half hours later then scheduled. I guess people at Fladeboe thinks customers don't really have anything else to do or planned. Alas, couldn't really fight it, had no other choice if I wanted this done today, then 2pm it is. Ok. Before leaving Fladeboe, my wife and I go into the sales room to see David Chao and ask about an important feature we forgot to inquire about the Odyssey before purchase. Is it four wheel drive? David told us "no, our EX-L is not 4 wheel drive and the 4 wheel drive is option that was about "$2000" more. My wife was disappointed, she really wanted a 4 wheel drive vehicle. But seems odd that 4x drive is an option that is only $2000 extra. I'm not a car expert, but this didn't sound right. I jumped on the internet on my phone, and could not find an Honda Oddessey with 4x drive anywhere on the internet. Got a call from Sylvia at around 2:10pm the car is ready. We went to pick up the vehicle. Asked Sylvia about the 4x drive, she confirmed that the Oddessey does not come with 4 wheel drive. So don't know why Mr. Chao is not well versed in the products that he's selling and would give us completely erroneous information. Asked Sylvia about the location of the spare tire in the Oddessey. She asked another sales gentleman to show us and was surprised that our salesman, Mr. Chao neglected to show us before handing over the keys. We asked Sylvia about the first aid kit, she said that they didn't not have it and will order it and send it to us by Friday 1/13/2012. No word from Sylvia on Friday and in all honesty, my wife and I had forgotten about it. Then we remembered Wednesday 1/18/2012. Called Sylvia. After searching and a call back because she "didn't know what was going on, "they" should have mail it last Friday (1/13/2012) as promised. I told Sylvia that it seems odd that t would take 3 days for a package to travel 5 miles. At this point Sylvia became DEFENSIVE and started to dispensing blame to other people unknown to us. ""They" told me "They" sent it last Friday." Bottom line, I don't know who "they" are, and I don't care, I only dealt with YOU (Sylvia Illman) you were responsible to delivery what we paid for when you said you were going to. And what if wee didn't call Sylvia back? No follow-up? What kind of "Honda, helpful Service" is this?! Doesn't seem too helpful. I had to follow-up every step of the way and in the end you through somebody else under the bus. The Karr Alarm guy's not here, it's not my fault...they should have sent it on Friday 1/13/2012, you haven't gotten it yet? It's not my fault.... To add insult to injury. She produced a UPS tracking# from "They" (the person(s) responsible for sending the first aid kit, apparently even though we've dealt with Syvlia, others were actually doing the work, so I don't know why Fladeboe Honda Service really Sylvia, she seems to be a middleman that is not required to be accountable for anything. I jumped on the UPS site right away to track the package and found that it was shipped just yesterday (being Tuesday 1/17/2012 at the time). And as soon as I hung up the phone did my front door ring with a UPS package. What was most irate was the fact that Sylvia constantly insisted that "They" shipped it on Friday 1/13/2012. I also overheard her speaking to the person from the parts department that gave her the UPS tracking number to give to me, and this person also insisted to Sylvia to tell me that it was shipped the previous week. And without verification for her own integrity, she past on to me wrong information. It was obvious if you type in the tracking # that it clearly states that the package was just shipped the day before. Sylvia also seemed quite irked by my call to follow up about the first kid. Again, as if I'm disturbing her from much more important work. Albeit, tracking a $20 first aid kit is by no means imperative to the operations of Fladeboe Honda's service department, but if this is how you handle the little things, I hate to see how you deal with major service issues. So gross negligence and incompetence at Fladeboe customer service has now sour us again to the Honda name. Will we ever find a trustworthy, competent, empathetic Honda dealer? 0-2 is not an encouraging number. The tragedy is that we have a close friend who is also considering buying a new Oddessey. We both actually did our research together, went to OC auto to look at all of the mini-van, weighting the pros-cons of every model. And to be honest, my wife and I were set on Toyota Sienna, it was our friend that sold us on the Oddessey as a better vehicle. We were going to recommend that he and his family go to Fladeboe to purchase their Oddessey EX-L like ours, but with our sour experience with the service department, I would highly recommend them to buy it from somewhere else. The best I can do was let them test drive our new Oddessey, which is a great vehicle and we are very pleased with it, but I just wish there is a Honda Dealership around that prides itself in delivering top notch customer service that I have yet to find in the past 6 years living in OC and buy two new Honda vehicles.
