Was working with Aaron, the internet sales manager over the weekend of 27 feb 2021. I was cross shopping a Nissan Titan and asked for their best price. They quoted me $3500 more than the local dealer I wen the weekend of 27 feb 2021. I was cross shopping a Nissan Titan and asked for their best price. They quoted me $3500 more than the local dealer I went to, and effectively said that the local dealer would change it up last minute and they can have a $500 guarantee that their price would be better. In fact if I send the executed purchase agreement, they would still honor the $500 guarantee. Made the purchase from my local dealer and sent the docs to Aaron as requested, well turns out that since I had a trade, that they didn’t know about they won’t honor. They don’t care that the trade equity didn’t go to the dealer as a down payment but went to me as a check. If Aaron would have just come out and said “hey, I can’t even come close, that’s a screaming deal” I wouldn’t even care about the $500 guarantee. But the fact that they use the guarantee to persuade consumers not to cross shop and give them a belief that this dealer can’t be beat. Cross shop before you buy. Update 2 March 2021. Msrp on the truck I purchased was $100 less than at vero Nissan. Via a phone call with Arron, he said he wouldn’t beat me up over a $100 difference. This isn’t me construing the facts or numbers, this is a dealer trying to play shell games with the numbers to fit their needs. As stated above, their price guarantee means nothing, please do yourselves a favor and shop around before purchasing. More
