Hello Mr. Osband, We are sorry this has happened with your vehicle. Unfortunately we do not know when a component is going to fail, especially when it is a closed unit or seal/gasket. In this case, a seal has been leaking causing low fluid and damage internally in the transfer case. This is NOT a case of negligence, just a failed component that has started a domino effect.
