I called Friday morning, 7/21/23 to get the brakes fixed. I asked if I could get the job done that day. Answer was yes, come for a 1:30 appt. No problem getting it done. I arrive at 1:30 and when signing I asked if I could get the job done that day. Answer was yes, come for a 1:30 appt. No problem getting it done. I arrive at 1:30 and when signing in and doing a walk around the car he noticed new tires. Asked if I had an alignment. I said no. I was told I needed an alignment, and the cost would be 179.00. He had no way to tell if I needed an alignment. Not a good way to earn trust. (the 30 pt inspection - no mention of needing an alignment.... just upselling.) My car was not touched or moved until 2:40, then it was the 30-point inspection.... that took 55 minutes until 3:35... when I saw the car move and was told "it is in the parts dept.... at 3:45 and I needed new pads and rotors on the rear (What I expected and told him when I checked in.... Tried to tell me I needed other parts on the front end replace (not immediate need....) I said fix the brakes first.... then we will talk. service adviser "oh, and it will not be done today".... I said it had to or they provide a loaner until Monday AM - I needed to leave town early Sat. (why I asked if it could be done today when I called). 5 minutes later he comes back and says it will be done at 7PM. (like magic!!!) At 4:30 the car moved to the rack and work started. Job is done by 5:20. It took longer to do the 30-point inspection than to fix my brakes, the problem I came for. How would you rate a dealer that says you need an alignment without even checking and then spends an hour doing an inspection that's purpose it to UPSELL and instill fear, uncertainty and doom to sell more services.... and the brake job cost 30 % more than anywhere else? Your employees did find time to tell me you wanted to buy my car... Twice. Your head of the department that buys cars texted me he wanted to talk to me.... I said, sure... when my car is done... of course he never reached out again... must have gone home. So, it was obvious your dealership's purpose is to profit from those who trust you to service their cars by finding other things that “need repair” vs. meeting their needs. I have owned Nissan's for the past 25 years. All Maxima's. Plan to buy a new SUV within the next two years. My son is buying a truck this month. Loyal customer. I have never ever had an experience like this at a Nissan dealer. It was not just the service advisor who signed me in... it was obviously the organization’s policies that drove my experience. It was intentional. (their follow up to my poor review was they were sorry I got the "impression"..... my fault.) The guy had my tires off and put them back on after the 30 pt inspection... That is just stupid when Brakes are the issue, unless your goal is not serving the customer as quickly as possible but is to get as much money as you can while their vehicle is held hostage from the sucker who trusted their car to you. The service agent begged for a good review when he gave me my keys...saying it was his report card.... it isn't his fault at all.... I have managed departments within corporations... this was a well-oiled policy, not the mistake of one person. All the players played their parts. You may want to cover the window in the service area... my car was intentionally moved out of view for the brakes, but I found a way to see it. Funny how several racks were always open in front of the window in the lounge. More
