Additionally, they both came out to my vehicle and spent an extra 20 minutes at least with me helping me to understand how to get the most out of the vehicles more technical functions. The service at Nissan of Clearwater is excellent. Corporate Nissan service requirements/approval is AWFUL!!!!! I recently had to call Nissan Clearwater due to a dead battery that was still under warr Corporate Nissan service requirements/approval is AWFUL!!!!! I recently had to call Nissan Clearwater due to a dead battery that was still under warranty. A contracted service person was at my house to give me a jump start within 20 minutes of my call to Clearwater. I got my Rogue to the service center and Langdon explained that rather than automatically replacing the battery, Nissan Corp. requires several tests done. I misunderstood and thought I would only be a the dealer for 1 1/2 hours at most while the tests were done. Even though my battery failed the tests twice, I was still at the dealership 4 hours after I arrived. The dealership provided me a ride home and felt they would be able to replace the battery before closing that night 7:00 pm. I didn't hear anything that evening so I called the following morning at 9:00 am and was told that Nissan had denied the new battery the previous evening and the dealership service crew were once again going through the test procedures. After multiple test failures Nissan Corp. finally gave permission to put a new battery in my vehicle. I received a call from Nissan Clearwater and they arranged to have someone come to my home to pick me up. This was about noon and I was able to pick-up my vehicle and arrived home about 1:00 pm. The service people at Clearwater couldn't have been nicer, from the ladies taking the calls to the service desk people (mainly Langdon) to the driver who drove me to and from the dealership. By way of apology, they topped off my gas tank and thank me repeatedly for my patience. I understand, considering how expensive batteries are today, that Nissan Corp. wants to make sure replacement rather than recharging is really needed. However, after their own trained people tell them that the battery failed repeatedly and that they recommended replacement, they should have authorized it long before they did. It was a great inconvenience to me as I had other things I had to take care of. More
