Shame on Nissan 112! My husband and I have been buying cars from them for over 15 years. We purchased an extended warranty on one of our vehicles that was good for up to 125k miles. After realizing the warranty expired after 5 years, we went to the dealership to cash it in, since the warranty was never used and came with the money back guarantee. We went and spoke to the finance department and explained we thought we had to wait for the 125k mark, but realized we had exceeded the 5 year mark instead, and would like to get the money back since it was never used. The finance department assured us that since it was never used, they just had to send it to the company to confirm, and we would get a check in 4-6 weeks. We were so thrilled we bought a car that day! Except when doing the financing on the newly purchased vehicle, they tried to convince me to go with the extended warranty again. I was told “you come in with the warranty that hasn’t been used and we cut you a check that day!” I said, actually, that is not what happens because that’s what we originally came here for. When I denied the warranty again, he asked if I wanted to go ask my husband if that’s really what I wanted to do. I politely declined and assured him it was my decision and I didn’t use it last time so no thank you. Fast forward 6 weeks, I never heard about the refunded warranty. I left 3 messages with no call backs, so I decided to just show up. When I went to speak the the financial department, the same person I spoke to about reimbursement pulled up my information and told me that sadly, we wouldn’t qualify because we didn’t notify them in writing within 30 days. I completely understand that it is the policy and was written in the contract, but we were told BY THE SAME PERSON that all we had to do was wait for them to verify the warranty was never used. We were counting on the reimbursement when we bought the new vehicle. Overall, we were lied to more than once by the finance department and will no longer be purchasing vehicles from this dealer.
