Best experience I've ever had purchasing a car. We bought a 2010 Maxima using Nissan Friends and Family discount and cash back deals being offered at the time. They gave me more than the trade-in value for my old car. I hate high-pressure car sales and this was NOT THE CASE here. Our dealings were very friendly and even enjoyable. Margaret was great to work with and kept me informed via phone on the progress of our dealings. We were deciding between two car colors (silver or gray) and Newton did not have the car with the trim level we wanted in either color. Anyway, we decided on the gray one and made the deal. They were to bring in the car I wanted the next day from another dealer. When we arrived the following day, they had gotten the wrong color car (silver). Well, they apologized and said they had found a gray one in Atlanta and would try to get it the next day (Saturday) or Monday at the latest. On Saturday at 3:45 we got a call from Doug saying our car was here, detailed and ready to go. That Weekend was the weekend that Atlanta was iced and snowed in. I could not believe that someone had gone through such horrible driving conditions to get our car. I was expecting my car sometime during the next week. Here is what impressed my socks off: Mr. Newton, the owner, had left Gallatin around 3 a.m. Saturday to get my car in that weather. WOW! That is going way beyond to please the customer. Everyone we dealt with was friendly and professional. Couldn't have been more pleased! I highly recommend driving from wherever you live in Tennessee to deal with these guys. Ask for Margaret; she is a sweetheart! Also, the finance guy, Rob, was a hoot! More
I would not advise anyone to do business with Newton Nissan in Gallatin and here a few reasons why. We puchased a 2009Nissan Maxima from another dealership last year but with a recent addition to our fa Nissan in Gallatin and here a few reasons why. We puchased a 2009Nissan Maxima from another dealership last year but with a recent addition to our family we simply outgrew this vehicle. Searching for a new vehicle my wife starting communicating with Mike Rezi via the internet on a few cars. After two weeks of communication he has what sounds like a great deal on a 2006 Nisan Murano. On a Friday night after work we drive 45 miles one way to look at this vehicle and make a trade if the numbers they came up with work out. Mike Rezi and almost all of the staff were friendly and helpfull when we arrived and overall he did a fine job. Problem started afterbeing there around an hour and the the numbers came in from the finance guy that I later found out was Rob King. After two weeks of discussion and countless e-mails now the payments discussed went up $45 dollars and I also had to come up with an additional $2,000.....WOW. I told Mike at that point that we were to far apart on the deal but I did appreciate everything that he had done and we started packing up for the 45 mile trip back home. He told me that the finance guy Rob King wanted to come talk to us before we left. Rob King came in and started off fine but after a minute got really upset with us. He then said a few extremely offensive things, opened the door and stormed out of the room not to be seenagain. Now we are standing there trying to figure out what just happened and Mike apologized and said that Rob was really upset becasue he worked really hard trying to make this deal work. We then called in the Manager of the dealership and he also apologized for Rob Kings actions. I would hope that a dealership of this size not accept this type of behavior from its associates but for that reason as well as the large price change I would not recommend anyone purchase a vehicle from Newton Nissan in Gallatin. Purchasing this vehicle as a company car presented some obstacles but with both Justin and Michael on the case this sale went nice and neat. Whether it was their prompt responses to emails or phone calls from myself or my company made this transaction perfect. As long as I live in the state of Tennessee this dealership has won all my business with their superb knowledge and customer service. Thanks. A++++ More
Overall experience was wonderful! The haggle for the price that we felt comfortable with and the dealership could do was fun. The options were all explained to us and presented so that we could make the price that we felt comfortable with and the dealership could do was fun. The options were all explained to us and presented so that we could make the decision for things like extended warranty and such. The salesmen, managers, and finance officer were well informed and always could give an informed answer to all my questions. Price could not be beat in the area believe me I looked for several weeks and none could compare (note! haggle was key to the great price) We will definetly go back to Newton Nissan in Gallatin, Tennessee. This is the first dealership that has the most professinal group of employess working for them. The USAA buyer's program brought me to this dealership. I had to travel from Clarksville, Tn to Gallatin, TN to visit the dealership, but it was worth it. This purchasing experience was better than most, but it is still not THE dealership that I'm looking for. The above asks if I would recommend this dealership "Yes" or "No". They are missing a bubble that is still not THE dealership that I'm looking for. The above asks if I would recommend this dealership "Yes" or "No". They are missing a bubble that says "Sort of, but not really". I want a dealership where folks know what they are talking about and there are no "surprises" after. I purchased a used 2006 Nissan Altima, in the evening. Granted it was an hour and 1/2 before closing, in the evening, and folks stayed over to complete the deal, but then again, the dealership closed at 8:00. Hard to get out of work, eat and buy a car all before 8:00pm anyway, but they were willing to stay open to complete it, and for that I was pleased. However, even though I did all the paperwork that evening, I found out the "finance" person didn't know all the ins and outs, so the next day, I had to redo the paperwork because the daytime finance person, who said people at night don't know what he knows, didn't place it with the right finance company. Now the positive was I did get a 1/2 percentage point better, but it always makes me wonder "what else did they miss?". I do appreciate the honesty, however. The sales person, Jerry, was very nice. Very positive, not hard sell, willing to allow me to make up my mind. However, and again, this just goes back to training, he said my car had an XM radio, which it does not. He said I just needed to get a subscription, but it doesn't have an antenna or receiver for that. I took him at his word, and it is my fault I didn't look for the antenna sooner, but I feel there is a lot of time that if a person's job is to sell vehicles, they should know what comes or doesn't come on a vehicle, and if they don't know for sure, say so, or go find out. I've been in plenty of dealerships when multiple sales people are standing together talking about events of the day, when they could be sitting with owner's manuals and reading about features. Having XM radio or not is a pretty basic discussion. I very much appreciated that Jerry delivered the car the next day to my home, a good 45 minute drive one way. That is customer service to the maximum, and it was very much appreciated. However, once again at the last moment, since I had to "just sign here", I was presented with a full set of paperwork that again, lowered the interest rate, but offered an extended warranty. So, here I have a person who has driven 45 minutes one way to deliver a car, and now I am faced with signing for paperwork that I have had no time to review. I could have been given the option the night before, but once again, supposedly nobody the night before knew about it to offer it. It makes for a very uncomfortable purchasing experience, and doesn't have to be that way. Somewhere out there is a dealership that takes pride in their sales people knowing the vehicles they are selling, and that is the advertisement they put on TV. An advertisement that says "At Newton Nissan, our salespeople know our cars so well, we challenge you to come in and visit with them. If we don't know the features on our cars, and we tell you the car has a feature it does or doesn't have, we will give you $--.-- for each mistake we make, ever if we don't sell you the car! If our Finance people make a mistake, we promise you $--.-- to correct that mistake. Our sales people don't sit and visit with each other, they sit and learn, so they can make your experience different here than any other. Our finance people are the most experienced in the businesss, and they know how to get you the best possible deal. SO come into Newton Nissan for a TRULY Different Automobile Shopping Experience!" No charge for the consultation, but I promise you, if a dealership trains enough so they can promote that, they will have folks knocking the door down. More
