I had work done on my 2010 lexus sc430 at Newport Lexus and until October 2020 was very pleased with their expertise. I am very disappointed that they failed to take responsibility for the damage they did to my clear plastic on my heat/AC controls. This is what is known to be a hardtop convertible. It’s special in that it was the last year they made them (only 329 were built). It’s a garage Queen in that it spends more time in my garage than the road. Since this occurred I’ve put less than one mile a day on it! I’m retired and don’t get out much. In 11 years it has only 36k miles on it. It is very special to me and I know it well. When I pointed out the scratch the very next morning, the manager immediately denied his guys could of done it. It is harder to see until you put the convertible top down and then I noticed immediately. The car was in for a new battery and the stereo did not work. The stereo is immediately below the glass for the AC. It turned out that the battery was the reason the stereo did not work, even though everything else worked after jumping the battery. The manager checked his security cameras and said no it wasn’t my guys. Those must be some cameras to see the car at all times. He actually sounded like he would take responsibility until he found the part itself was over $1k. That loss will cost them this customer and you might want to have second thoughts as well. I’ve lived in Costa Mesa for 4 years and this dealer is the only place I let service it-until now. More
