Attempted to reach the parts department multiple times and continously hung up on by someome picking up the phone then hanging up. Finally connected to the service department to find out what the problem and continously hung up on by someome picking up the phone then hanging up. Finally connected to the service department to find out what the problem was. The service department informed me that the parts department is not required to answer the phones on Saturdays. Noone was able to help me and when requesting a manager I was repeatedly sent to voicemail. According to their service writers the managers don't work weekends and Noone is capable of giving anyone an answer. After being spoken to rudely and if I was stupid I hung up called Stevens Ford where the parts department was pleasant and helpful. It's worth the unfortunate 20 mile drive to deal with them. I Wi never recommend Newins to anyone ever again and will be canceling my business account with them after this treatment. More
This service department is the worst. They make a lot of mistakes and they do not take responsibility. They installed the wrong tires on my truck! Went in to see if a part to a 2002 Ford Escort could be ordered. The parts department looked devoid of parts and the person I spoke to was completely uninterested in helping me-he was friendly enough but ordered. He sent me to the service department-who also had no idea what I was talking about and didn't seem to care-friendly but ignorant. I know a decent amount about cars so it wasn't as though I couldn't articulate what I was looking for, yet I left totally frustrated and amazed at the complete cluelessness of the staff. Do these people know anything about Ford cars-are they not trained?? I own two Mustangs along with the Escort and have spoken recently to a salesperson about buying a Fiesta or Focus in the future, but have serious doubts about purchasing one at this dealership, based on this experience. By the way, I figured out what I needed myself, using the internet-a former Ford mechanic offered insight into my problem-maybe you should hire him? More
This dealership has no idea how to treat a returning customer. They shafted me out of almost $2,000 on a recall and after I tried to work things out with them they did not stand by a loyal customer, bu customer. After recall was done, because my car sat all winter long and was caused residual repairs because of the wait they did not help with the repairs due to the wait and instead a repair bill of over $600 on top of the already $2000 in rental fees incurred that they had promised to provide. Their response was pointing fingers at everyone but themselves and stating that I fell through the cracks and it was the rental car's fault, the corporation's fault and my fault, but definitely not any of Newin's Bay Shore Ford's fault. This dealership would no sooner throw you under the bus then to admit any responsibility for their oversite, leaving the customer (who's suppose to be always right) holding the bill for a part that was defective and not even produced when I was told it was dangerous to drive the car that I paid for and never late on my payments!!!! My advice is to not deal with this company as I will never and I will tell everyone I know how badly they have treated me!!! The worst customer service ever!!! Especially the owner!!!! More
My vehicle was dropped off for service three separate times for the same concern cause they kept misdiagnosing and were unable to duplicate the concern. Then the last time the car was there, they attempt times for the same concern cause they kept misdiagnosing and were unable to duplicate the concern. Then the last time the car was there, they attempted repairs in which it appears the interior portions of the lower dash had to come apart. I get a call my vehicle is ready and when I go to pick it up, I find they broke the sill plates, shifter trim, center console was loose, center trim gouged, head liner and visors stained etc. The car was poorly repaired and put back together. When I brought the concern to the owner's attention which was then directed to the service manager, Chet yelling, cursing etc accuses me of damaging the vehicle and so on. Great customer service that is. Please tell me how my vehicle gets mysteriously damaged by me after you service it, especially since I never even got to pick up and take the vehicle home. This dealership is the worst in atmosphere, ethics, service and every aspect. I wouldn't even recommend it to my worst enemy! More
Had problems with the locking mechanism on my 2010 Transit Connect. After driving the car for over a year, the cargo doors stopped unlocking from the drivers side door. Considering this is a cargo van Transit Connect. After driving the car for over a year, the cargo doors stopped unlocking from the drivers side door. Considering this is a cargo van, it presented a problem. Brought it in 4 times, once the car sat there all day, and I was told they never got a chance to look at it. They never beleived me that the door locks were not operating properly on the driver side door. They sighted e mails from the Ford hot line that it was operating properly, and that there was no auto unlock feature from the drivers door. This was after a full year of all doors unlocking from the drivers side. They just wouldn't listen and didn't care. After the 4th visit they called me to tell me they think there might be a problem, of course this was after I contacted Ford customer service. I finally brought it to Bright Bay Ford Lincoln in Bay Shore. They diagnosed the problem on the first visit, ordered the part, and fixed it. The real crime is that I have bought 5 cars from their dealership, (not the Transit) and I own a local business for 30 years just up the block from Newins, just think what I tell my customers now.
