Mixed experience We had a good experience purchasing an used Lexus with Anthony, who was very friendly, patient and knowledgeable. However, there were a couple things that happened after our purchase. First, we realized the spare car remote key didn't work. We had to take time off work to drive to another Lexus dealership, which is closer to where we live, so a new key could be issued. Second, the dealership wasn't able to complete car registration and send us the new license plate before our temporary plate expired (30 days after purchase). Hence, we weren't able to use the car for a few days because of it which was really inconvenient. More
Untrustworthy, Disrespectful I visited the New Country used dealership in Fairfield in Aug. 2015. I was interested in a used Camry. The salesman was pleasant, and the test drive I visited the New Country used dealership in Fairfield in Aug. 2015. I was interested in a used Camry. The salesman was pleasant, and the test drive went well. I was interested in buying the car yet I informed the salesman that I wanted my mechanic to take a look at it first. He agreed. Initially, the salesman said that he was confident in the car because their on-site mechanics had already looked it over. Prior to the car heading up for an inspection with my mechanic, the salesman informed me that the front brakes were low, and he could help me out by replacing the front rotors and pads for $800. So, in essence, I get to buy the car from New Country and also get the chance to pay them for putting on new brakes. The second issue was that I had scheduled an appt. with my mechanic, and the salesman communicated with the dealer staff that the car had to be there at a certain time. Yet, I waited 1-1/2 hours, and the car still hadn't arrived. I called, asked the front desk for help, and she sent me to Paolo's voice mail. No one could help status me on where the car was. I finally left the garage and headed back to the dealership to get my deposit back. When I was heading out, no one apologized for the mix-up. The salesman just repeated twice that the car was there at the garage. The garage is a half hour from the dealership so I wasn't coming back to buy the car that same day. On top of that, the mechanic informed me that the car was wobbling while driving and needed both front and rear rotors and pads. Also, the alternator was on its way out. Good to know. The salesman never followed up with me. I've never been so insulted by a dealer, ever. Perhaps if I was in the market for a new Lexus or higher end used car, the service would have been better. Or maybe it was because I wanted it looked over by a 3rd party. I'm not sure. I met a nice guy there who was going to buy a used Lexus and wasn't going to have a mechanic look at it because he trusts this dealership. I guess if you're this type of person, this dealership will love you. It was very unfortunate because I really liked the car. However, I'd rather get a car I like from a dealer I like. More
