I had a great experience at Nelson Mazda. I knew of them from some folks I worked with and because of their reputation made it a priority to check their inventory first. I highly value their Christian work environment that is reflected in their low pressure tactics and also in their negoiations. Everyone was friendly and not in a patronizing way. We did do our dance on pricing, but only a couple of stanzas and all in a very respectful manner. My salesperson was new, but focused on trying to do the right thing. I went in with expectations for a good experience and came out with a smile and the ability to sincerely recommend these folks and their business. I will be back for future purchases as I hope to do my part to support businesses that do the right thing by folks. Mr. Jacobs is a pro and a pleasure to deal with. Can not remember the last time I could say that coming out of a car dealership. More
My sales experience started out well. David was friendly.But the rest of the car buying experience quickly took a turn for the worse. It started off with the inablility of the sales people to find a car. I was interested in a Mazda5. Their website listed several for sale. When I asked about a particular vehicle that only had 25,000 miles on it and was still under warranty I was told that the only cars they had were what we could see on the front lot (this car was not included). I ended up starting a deal on a Mazda5 with 36,000 miles on it. My husband happened to ask another salesman not helping with our deal and he was able to find the car we had already asked at least two other people about, it was in the back. It was finally brought around front and we started a new deal on it. To me it seemed like there was an agenda to sell the other car instead of the one I was really interested in and it left me feeling uneasy. From this point things went from bad to worse. The finance guy was very rude and insulting offering us an interest rate that was over 2.50% more than what we were able to get from an outside source. He actually told us if we could get a better rate than what he was offering we should come back and tell him about it because he didn't believe we could do it. The real kicker is the credit union we got financed through is one that Nelson Mazda uses for financing also, so why couldn't they get us a better rate? Several days after purchasing the car I received an email from Nelson Mazda asking about my sales experience and giving a number to call and speak to Megan Rawlings if I had any concerns. I spoke to Megan the next day and she said that she or a manager would get back to me about my bad experience. That was over 3 weeks ago and I have never been contacted by her or a manager. I would not buy another vehicle from this dealership ever again. More
I have to admit, I don't really like buying cars. However with this dealer I felt that they were at least looking to find something that would really work for what I needed. The dealership is a great place to buy a car. They're helpful and not pushy. They really work with you to get the best deal possible. The test drive experience really shows off the car. My particular experience at Nelson was nothing short of amazing ... The old 4Runner that I had been driving for years seemed to be on it's last legs. I drove into the Nelson lot on Memorial simply because amazing ... The old 4Runner that I had been driving for years seemed to be on it's last legs. I drove into the Nelson lot on Memorial simply because I had heard from others that they were a very helpful and freindly outfit. This proved to be the case. After a couple of hours of shopping and much discussion about my particular situation, Ken B. and company were able to get me out of my old junky car (as it turned out the motor was about to give out) and put me in something that I could not have imagined on my own. The 06 Titan turned out to be a perfect fit for my family and our activities. I would highly recommmend Nelson Mazda and will continue to share this story with others. More
Went to Nelson after MANY visits to other dealers in Tulsa. Nelson was able to get my payment and price for my trade just where I needed to be to make my buying decision. Great service from all aspects of the car buying process. Easy - The transaction was handled mostly over the phone. I asked them to have the car serviced at a Lexus dealership for me and they had all that taken care of before I came in to take delivery of the car.
