The entire experience was easy and pleasant with very friendly staff. It was also nice that if you called they answered their phones and if they said they needed to call you back they called back quickl friendly staff. When we came back to buy we had the Blue Book and carfax on the specific used Mazda 3 we wanted in-hand. As the price came in well under the retail Blue Book (just slightly above the BB trade-in price, actually) and appeared quite fair there was a minimum of bargaining. Ryan did briefly try to upsell us to the 2011 model, but respected our polite “thanks but no thanks”. I’ll take that experience any day over many dealerships where they build in $3000 of “profit” and you have to waste a couple of hours with the whole negotiation kabuki. The warranty and financing paperwork with CJ was easily the most memorable hour my husband and I have ever spent with a loan officer. We found him hilarious, though he might not be to everyone’s taste. All in all, as major purchases go this one was remarkably low-pressure and pleasant. This is my second Mazda, and based on both car and dealership I suspect it won’t be my last.One note-I agree with an earlier reviewer's comments about the dealership's Christian vibe. Weve seen enough sleazy "christian" businesses that normally that's our cue to keep one hand on our wallets at all times, but everyone we dealt with was honest and pleasant to work with. My first car purchase that felt like a true win-win transaction. More

They gave us a fare deal. The finance guy was a little bit pushy with the extended warranty. I have purchased them in the past and I never end up spending as much money as the warranty cost before it run bit pushy with the extended warranty. I told him I was not interested and he continue to make me feel like I was making a terrible decision. We closed the deal very quickly with the salesman who was very polite. However, we had to wait 2 hours before the finance guy would see us. Caused me to miss several appointments at work. They need to figure out how to get you out of there more quickly after you have made a deal. More

I came to this dealership looking for a Mazda 5 that I found on the internet. We walked into the dealership and had to ask for a sales person. It was wonderful not to be stalked by salespeople when pull found on the internet. We walked into the dealership and had to ask for a sales person. It was wonderful not to be stalked by salespeople when pulling into the parking lot. Ryan, the salesperson who came to help, really knew the vehicle we were test driving. He showed us features about this car that really helped make the sale. When I went into the finance department, the gentleman there made the experience so delightful. They kept the car payment in the range I wanted and I walked out of there feeling at peace. All of the people I encountered there were very professional! What a great place! I would highly recommend you check out this dealership. More
I had a great experience at Nelson Mazda. I knew of them from some folks I worked with and because of their reputation made it a priority to check their inventory first. I highly value their Christian work from some folks I worked with and because of their reputation made it a priority to check their inventory first. I highly value their Christian work environment that is reflected in their low pressure tactics and also in their negoiations. Everyone was friendly and not in a patronizing way. We did do our dance on pricing, but only a couple of stanzas and all in a very respectful manner. My salesperson was new, but focused on trying to do the right thing. I went in with expectations for a good experience and came out with a smile and the ability to sincerely recommend these folks and their business. I will be back for future purchases as I hope to do my part to support businesses that do the right thing by folks. Mr. Jacobs is a pro and a pleasure to deal with. Can not remember the last time I could say that coming out of a car dealership. More
My sales experience started out well. David was friendly.But the rest of the car buying experience quickly took a turn for the worse. It started off with the inablility of the sales people to find a car. I was interested in a Mazda5. Their website listed several for sale. When I asked about a particular vehicle that only had 25,000 miles on it and was still under warranty I was told that the only cars they had were what we could see on the front lot (this car was not included). I ended up starting a deal on a Mazda5 with 36,000 miles on it. My husband happened to ask another salesman not helping with our deal and he was able to find the car we had already asked at least two other people about, it was in the back. It was finally brought around front and we started a new deal on it. To me it seemed like there was an agenda to sell the other car instead of the one I was really interested in and it left me feeling uneasy. From this point things went from bad to worse. The finance guy was very rude and insulting offering us an interest rate that was over 2.50% more than what we were able to get from an outside source. He actually told us if we could get a better rate than what he was offering we should come back and tell him about it because he didn't believe we could do it. The real kicker is the credit union we got financed through is one that Nelson Mazda uses for financing also, so why couldn't they get us a better rate? Several days after purchasing the car I received an email from Nelson Mazda asking about my sales experience and giving a number to call and speak to Megan Rawlings if I had any concerns. I spoke to Megan the next day and she said that she or a manager would get back to me about my bad experience. That was over 3 weeks ago and I have never been contacted by her or a manager. I would not buy another vehicle from this dealership ever again. More
I have to admit, I don't really like buying cars. However with this dealer I felt that they were at least looking to find something that would really work for what I needed. I ended up buying a 2004 Saturn I with this dealer I felt that they were at least looking to find something that would really work for what I needed.
