While delpoyed to Iraq, I sold my 2001 Nissan Frontier. I had to buy a new vehicle. I contacted several Toyota and Nissan dealers in the area and found, initially, Rivergate was the most adept with my requests. I had very specific requests on what I wanted, and they were very capable of ensuring my requests would be met. I ordered a 2010 Tacoma with several additions. I was told since I was ordering the vehicle from Iraq, it would be tax free, bringing the price to $29 thousand and some change. Upon returning from Iraq, I drive seven hours to pick up the vehicle. Jonathan tells me he added a few things and ordered a 2011 rather than the 2010 I had requested. I wanted to the 2010 because I like the dual bar grill as opposed to the single bar on the new vehicles. Then, the sales representative tells me the price of the vehicle is $32 thousand, because I wasn't stationed in Tennessee with the 101st Airborne Division. I have no choice but to buy this vehicle since I do not have one. I could hear Jonathan and the other representatives joking about this from behind the service counter. I have to go online and fill out another loan request from USAA, my bank. At the internet center one of the sales representatives is checking his Facebook and tells me to wait while he finishes since all of the other computers were shut off. At the same time, three sales representatives are popping each other with towels on the showroom floor. I am livid to say the very least. My distress with their general indifference coupled with being fresh off the plane from Iraq did not make for a quiet situation. I had to pay $3 thousand plus for a truck which was not ordered to my specs. I had been advised by friends and family not to go there and did so against their advice. The customer service manager had the audacity to ask me how my experience was. Bottom line from that conversation was they took all of the excitement from me buying my first brand new vehicle, took advantage of my situation and refused to even attempt to rectify the situation. His idea of of assisting was giving me a coupon for half off an oil change. I will never buy from Rivergate Toyota, or another Toyota for that matter, nor will I ever have my vehicle serviced there, buy parts from them or recommend ANYONE to go to Rivergate. Please heed my advice and take your business elsewhere. CPT Ken Smith US Army More
I went to Rivergate Toyota because of all the dealers I have contacted none bothered to answer price or avalibility with an email. The others just called me and said " we'll beat their price". I drove tw have contacted none bothered to answer price or avalibility with an email. The others just called me and said " we'll beat their price". I drove twice as far from my home from another dealer beacuse of the response I got from Kurt on his email. To some it up, I trusted their approach to customer service. I would recommed Toyota at Rivergate to anyone in need of a new or used car or truck. I had a very pleasant buying experience. The dealership was clean, everyone I encountered was helpful and seemed to enjoy their job. I'm very excited about my new Toyota. Kurt gave me several options and I bought a car just like the one I wanted. This dealership will do well for as long as they keep up the levl of service I received. Sincerely, Michael Poen, Nashville, TN. More
Purchased a couple of cars from Rivergate Toyota. they are fair, efficient and professional. Their service department has always been attentive to my needs and are reasonably quick. They didn't have the car I desired in stock but they went overboard to get me the one I wanted. I also didn't have to re-negotiate another deal in financing- they were not pushy! More
I found a competitive ad on the internet and my request for information was sent to two local dealers in Nashville. The first dealer that contacted me would not give me a ballpark figure, just pushed to get me to visit. John at Rivergate gave me a very competitive price over the phone, this made it very easy to go in and make the purchase. Chris was very helpful and made the purchase quick and painless. Because the purchase was late on Christmas eve, the finance department was also extremely helpful pushing the paperwork through quickly! More
I left my Avalon for service. When I picked it up I had body damage as a result of the service dept. Then I have been through a hassle to get it resolved. I bought my toyota corolla from Rivergate Toyota in July of 2002.Myexperience was horrible to say the least. The salesman was horrible to me; treating me in a disrespectful and belittling way; the finance g of 2002.Myexperience was horrible to say the least. The salesman was horrible to me; treating me in a disrespectful and belittling way; the finance guy was even worse. There were many optional features in the loan that he did not tell me about, the vehicle was markedup by more than $4000.00 total, I caught this just as I was leaving the financing office and asked him why he did not explain the optional features to me, he said he did not coz he didn't think I'd understand what he was talking about. To make matters worse, I had impeccable credit but he charged me more than 13% in interest rate. this was like adding insult to injury, I told him to take the optionals off the loan which he did without appologizing for not pointing them out to me. Six months later I refinanced the loan with a credit union for 5%.Next came my first service visit about one week afer buying the car. The car was running low on power steering fluid; The steering wheel was so stiff, I had to manually manuever it to turn. I went in to have it checked, the guy that checked it told me there was nothing wrong with it even though clearly anyone could feel there was something amiss, I still had to pay the co-pay even though technically they didn't fix the problem. Needless to say; I haven't been back to this dealership. I felt disrespected and would never recommened this dealership to anyone. I hope this people learnt a lesson and I believe in karma, I'm a black African but I'm smart and know the ins and outs of the system. Be carefull who you try to con, you'll meet your match someday.
