I traded in my car a year ago. I was given what I thought was a good deal on a car from this dealership. I was told my car was a one owner and my carfax was clear. I went 30 days and then my check engine lig was a good deal on a car from this dealership. I was told my car was a one owner and my carfax was clear. I went 30 days and then my check engine light came on and now I pay on a car that wont pass emissions. I spoke with the dealership about the emissions law and they had now idea what I was talking about and neither did FORD. I have a 2011 for fusion. I fell so taken advantage of. I contact the dealership about the issue again and I am told "oh yeah we know all about the 50k emissions law." THen I also found out my car had been wrecked previously. I was told well the carfax probably delayed putting it on there! I just want a good solid car for a reasonable payment and I can't get Tro or anyone else to return my phonecalls and make it right. I have terrible credit and I have a lot of negative equity in this car. I have a car that I can't even drive because it wont pass emissions. SO I pay $400 a month for nothing. I just want to call the lender and give the car back at this point. More

I contacted Jack Holt and went in to see what could possibly be done. My credit was very bad due to my bankruptcy and I feared I'd have to go to a tote-the-note lot and pay way more than would be fair. Troy works in special financing and was able to get me bought for financing on a car that proved to be an answer to my prayers. I didn't even have a large amount to put down but Troy was able to help me and I got a payment that I could afford. Over the last year and a half, I kept meticulous records of my gas expenditures and religiously set aside the "difference" I was saving on gas versus driving my big truck. I kept making my payments for my car on time in addition to setting my gas savings aside. The time came where I needed to address the issue with my truck which I still owned. Having a large family, the car was great for zipping around town but the truck was still a necessity as I couldn't carry four kids and another passenger. However, the truck was high in mileage and there was the 9.5 MPG issue. It made leaving for a long trip nearly impossible. Taking some of the money I'd set aside from gas savings, I went back to Rivergate Toyota to speak with Jack about the possibility of trading in my old SUV on a comparable used vehicle. My hope was that I could find a vehicle that I could own free and clear with my trade and some cash added on. Once again, we went in to work with Troy. Id been paying on the car I bought in 2011 from them for exactly 18 months and had also gotten a credit account for some dental work. When Troy ran my credit he showed me that I had a 701 credit score. I was amazed and he seemed to be as well. I'm only 2.5 years past my bankruptcy discharge and I have a 701 score. That was very good news. So, Troy checked out my trade-in and we discussed it's condition. He did ask what I was wanting for it and I gave him an acceptable range (I'd done my research and knew what would be fair). We agreed on a value for my truck and I went to the lot with Jack to find a vehicle that had the seating capacity to acommodate my family or even a couple more if possible. I knew that there might not be something to fit my needs and figured I'd at least gotten a quote for my truck and I knew they would be on the lookout for something that would work for me. But then I found a 2006 For Expedition that had the same number of passenger capacity as the SUV I was parting with. It was more expensive than I'd set out as I was hoping for as I didn't desire to owe anything but the price was good enough that, with my trade and the cash I'd committed to spend, any monthly payment would be very manageable. Keep in mind, I chose my own vehicle and at no time was there an attempt to steer me toward something else. I made a direct offer of what I was willing to put down and what I could afford for a monthly payment. With my gas savings on my other car, I would still be saving more than a hundred fifty dollars a month even with the new payment. Troy was able to get me a payment on very good terms with an interest rate that I'd not dare hope for going in. That is until I saw how much my credit score had increased. In the end, I had purchased two used vehicles from Rivergate Toyota. One was a 2009 that I got barely over a year after going bankrupt with only $500 down and the other a year and a half later, a 2006 SUV with money I'd saved and my trade in. The total of BOTH payments together is $389 monthly. That's less than many people pay for ONE car every month. The attention to my needs and the care given me was nothing short of spectacular. In both cases, there were things I asked to have done in the deals. For the car, I requested another keyless entry remote. They gave me an invoice and I went to a Ford dealer to get it. It was $189 that I didn't have to pay. The SUV had some minor paint issues/scratches. I said I'd buy the vehicle at the terms presented provided their detail man could touch up/repair the imperfections. In both accounts, my requests were honored. One side note, I referred a friend to Rivergate Toyota after buying my 2009 Fusion from them. He did NOT take my advice. He ended up Buying a 2008 Focus with $1,800 down (vs. my $00) and his payment was $53/Month MORE that my payment on a class up, one year newer, fully loaded vehicle. He doesn't even have power door locks and windows. It's not about having great negotiating skills. It's simply about knowing what you want and the dealer caring enough about it that they assist you in getting you just that. I've never bought a new vehicle in my life. I's a luxury I've not yet been able to afford. I would like to one day. If what I want is a new Toyota, I'm confident I will be treated well at Rivergate Toyota. If you need a vehicle and especially if you're hoping to build up damaged credit, give Jack Holt a call and have him introduce you to Troy Hedgecoth. Troy will be nothing but honest and realistic about your situation. I know I've written a lot and believe me, I've done my share of complaining about companies when services/quality have been sub par. One thing I feel the need to do more often is provide praise and thanks to those companies that exceed my expectations and leave me feeling as though I will be a customer for life. Rivergate Toyota has done that for me. I have four children, the oldest will be of driving age next spring. I wonder where I will take him to buy his first car?!? More

Nikki did a great job taking care of us. We purchased a used Tacoma Prerunner. We financed with Toyota, which went very smoothly. The vehicle is certified, however, the certification was not complete - a used Tacoma Prerunner. We financed with Toyota, which went very smoothly. The vehicle is certified, however, the certification was not complete - although we were informed it had been. Rivergate gave an excellent impression of an outstanding dealership. However, the truck had to be returned to the dealership to complete the certification. This left me with doubts of the credibility of the dealer. The sales person did all the leg work. The service manager did not follow-up to extend apologies for not completing the certification (whom I met the day before and ensured me that the vehicle was certified). I feel the service dept. led the sales person down. The vehicle had only a 3/8 tank of gas when I drove away from the dealership. While the truck was clean, I was told the vehicle would be washed and it was not. My experience at Rivergate was positive, but the team could have completed some missing steps to made me a loyal customer and raving fan to potential customers. Henry Turlington More
