First, I went to just LOOK at cars in Sept. 2015 and this guy, I don't remember his name (he was an Egyptian guy) jumped on me to test drive this car and I didn't really like the car but I did anyway because he seemed adimant. I ended up getting talked into it because it "had great gas mileage" and "had all the features a Lexus had". I was guaranteed that since I had finished college that I would have a ZERO % finance for first time car buyers. Well two days after I sign all my paper work, I get a TEXT MESSAGE from this guy saying that I need a cosigner. What????? I'm so confused at this point. I call and he explains that since I only went to college for one year that the deal no longer stands and that I can return my vehicle or I can get a cosigner. I don't have someone that would cosign for me so that wasn't an option. And I sure as heck wasn't going to give my car up to this guy who wasn't smart enough to go over what I just signed (I should have). I ended up going through a credit union and having a completely different apr (that sucks) but it's my car and I needed to take responsibility for it. Jump ahead to my first oil change, I go to Ron Hibbard Toyota because I've heard good things about them. Mind you, I remember signing paper work saying that I have free oil changes till 30,000 miles. First oil change I went in too early because I was unaware that it was supposed to be changed at 5k and not 3k, so I left and came back at 5k, they were nicer than Rivergate so I decided to go back for 10k, well on this one they hit the top of my car with the garage door. :( thankfully no damage was done. So I come back for 15k and then on 20k I call and the lady tells me that it's my 25k oil change and I didn't really argue with her because I didn't care and figured it was a mess up. I get to the service center and she proceeds to tell me that scion only provides 3 free oil changes and that I need to pay from now on and then tells me they don't have the parts to check my recalls. You are a business that sells these cars, you should have the parts!!! Needless to say, I'm upset and now in debt with a car I don't even like. I will never do business with either of these dealerships again. Honestly I will stick with Carmax because every time I've spoken with them, they have been kind to me and told me ahead of time everything that was going to happen. Not that Toyota cares but someone who might read this might get some insight. Thanks for reading my rant if you did. More

He found out the car was the same as a Toyota Matrix, when the Earl Dunn Dealer closed. In Jan 2015 he went for service. He was scammed by a salesman, and a Finance manager into buying a 2015 Sienna Van LE with all the extras (video players in the headrest, moon roof, leather interior ect). He was also sold dealer extras like an extended warranty up to 100, 000 miles, a tire and wheel repair, a prepaid maintenance plan, plus other items over $5000 in cost. He did this only by trading his PAID FOR car and financing the new car for 84 MONTHS. In Jan 2016 he was persuaded by the salesman to again trade up to a 2016 Van , just like he had, again the same extras, plus 84 months financing. In June 2016 again he was sold another NEW CAR a 2016 Rav4 Limited with all the extras, including the above listed dealer add on's , again they financed it for 84 months , all this was to keep the payments under 700.00 . My father passed away the end of June without ever making a payment on the Rav 4. A friend in the Car Business reviewed the paperwork and was astounded to see the flim flam , the terms and saw that my father would have paid until he was 100 years old and the total cost of the Rav 4 would have been over $51,000.00 . Needless to say I have returned the car to Rivergate Toyota after talking to Toyota Financial Services , who is investigating how a 92 Year Old man was financed until he was 100 Years old. They have also set up a review with the Dept of Dealer Services, who is to contact me. I could never recommend this Dealership to any one and hope people read this. My father was a WW 2 Marine , commander of his VFW post , a President of the 2nd Marine Division Assoc. his health and mental condition had fallen the past couple years and he knew this , but insisted on living alone and independent, however I feel that this dealership was not acting in his best interest but rather their own greedy business. I have never been so hungry I felt a need to take advantage of a person . Everyone I have told this story to including Toyota, is incredulous . I am writing this review as instructed by a Toyota/Mazda salesman in Louisville Ky , who put me on the site. More

Jimmie Shaw met me at the door and had the vehicle ready for me to look at almost immediately. Even though I was set on getting a Tacoma, the truck I came to look at (which was in our price range) turned out not to be a fit. Jimmie then showed me a Nissan Frontier which was a one owner, recent trade in, which was exactly what we were looking for in a truck. Jimmie was extremely professional and knowledgeable throughout the entire experience. Because he listened carefully to what our needs were, he helped us pick out the best truck to meet those needs. My husband was not able to come with me that day and I was a little hesitant to shop for trucks by myself. Jimmie was respectful and did not talk down to me which was most appreciated and not the experience I had at other dealerships. I only have the highest praise for Jimmie and Rivergate Toyota and would definitely consider buying another car from them in the future. More

Headache since day one. First let me start off with this incident before we went to see them today(3/30/2016), we had already contacted them of trying to see if we get pre-ap First let me start off with this incident before we went to see them today(3/30/2016), we had already contacted them of trying to see if we get pre-approved or not on the finance part(this part i spoke to Jack Barron Internet Sales Manager) which was a headache so i really don't want to go thru that again but however we did get pre-approved, so after talking it over with my wife, we decided to give them a second chance. We've also chatted with Harry Flouhouse, the internet sales person on the first incident above. When we arrived, i have ask for Harry and wanted to see the Scion iA, test drove and all. We then told Mr. Harry we wanted to look at the numbers so that if the number is within the price we are comfortable with then we can proceed with the rest of the process. After getting more of information for both my wife and I, also we even told Harry not to run anymore credit check until we have seen the numbers for the car, he assure us it's not an app to run the credit, i even told Harry that Jack has all my information but not to run the credit. We have been to other dealerships before and we know how long it takes to run those numbers for the car. So we waited and waited and waited, 15-20 minutes went by, we are wondering in our head what is taking so long. My wife has a sense of something that might be shady, so Harry got up then came back and said" Those banks sure takes long for them to call back" . We were like what do you mean we are waiting for the banks to call back, we knew that it shouldn't take more than 10 minutes from the manager to show what kind of price we were getting for the Scion iA. So my wife and I stormed out of the lobby telling Harry, we never told anyone to run our credit until we saw those numbers. We never said ok where do we sign, all we have ask was to see the price they were giving us for especially that nobody pays the sticker price for any make or model. We have bought cars from big name dealership in the past so this is not first rodeo we've been, we know the game and the process. After we got into our car, Harry and Jack came up to us, never once said sorry or apologetic for this kind of scam they pulled on us thinking that they are going to pull a fast one on us. When i ask Harry why was the number never came to, he said well the manager is trying to figure out the numbers but he did make the comment of waiting for the bank response, he was making excuses for the comment he made. So after that incident with Harry, I also talk to Jack, i asked him who gave the permission to run my credit again after Harry assure me and Harry even said "We don't pull a fast one on anybody or do shady stuff". All we wanted was to see what kind of a price for the car so Jack response was" Well the price is on the sticker on the car!". So that comment broke the camels back, also as they were walking back we can see their smiling and laughing like some kind of a joke. That's ok because karma will get them back one day. I understand it's business but that's not how you treat your customer, your possible future customer at that. I guess they don't care because we are just 1 out of many customer, we are just a small number to them. We'll just take our business elsewhere, their not the only lot in town. After we came home, check credit karma to see how many pull they did, my wife has 4 pulls and i had 3 pulls. After all the good ratings they had and reviews, once again they are just another shady dealership. Word of mouth also gets your business and i will tell people don't come to Rivergate Toyota or they will take advantage of you and make you pay 10 million dollars for their car and will take your first born too.
