I will NEVER do business with Downtown Subaru again… ever. I got a call from Downtown Subaru that my 2012 Impreza was up for a recall. What was supposed to be a FREE 3hr repair took 1 week and cost me $880. ——— FULL STORY My first 2 interactions with Downtown Subaru weren’t great either but I chalked them up to the car dealership stigma and moved on. I got a call a week ago that there was an active recall on my Impreza and was told that it should only be a 3 hr repair. I made an appointment and brought it in on Wednesday Nov 29th at 10:30am. When I dropped the car off the agent checking me in let me know that the car wouldn’t be done until later that afternoon because they couldn’t get to it for at least 3 hrs… I don’t know what the point of having an appointment is then… but moving on. At 5pm I still have yet to hear anything and I know they close at 6pm so I give them a call. The agent says that the tech didn’t realize I had heated seats and cut the wires off in the wrong place so they needed to order a part but it should be in on Friday and they’ll get the car done first thing. I let them know that this is a huge inconvenience for me because I have meetings I have to drive to the next day so they offer to put me in a loaner. Fantastic… So I head down to the dealer to pick up the loaner. I always do an inspection when I get rentals and for whatever reason… probably just my annoyance I didn’t this time… bad on me. The agent when I was checking out the car said there was a tire pressure warning and not to worry about it. Okay whatever… Then I get in the car and notice that the front passenger side tire is at 45psi and the rest are at 35. I go through Thursday just fine and don’t hear anything from the dealer. On my way home on Friday I hit a pothole, it was a doozy, and sure enough that front passenger tire blows out. Luckily, I’m only a few blocks from my house so I just drive it back and park it on the curb. When I get out to inspect there’s a pretty big gash out of the sidewall of the front AND rear tire. I don’t remember hitting the back tire as well but I’m willing to concede it’s possible. So I pop the trunk to get out the spare… when I see that they’ve put wheel locks on the rims. ugh… so I crank the lugs off and when I get to the wheel lock the thing just strips out and now the tire is stuck on the car and I’m not getting it off. So I call the dealer to let them know that I can’t get the flat off and get an update on my car. Unfortunately, the part “just got in” and they haven’t gotten to my car yet. They tell me to call the roadside assistance number on the window and they’ll tow the car back to the dealer and get me in another vehicle since my car still isn’t done. I remind them that it’s 4:30pm on a Friday, it’s pretty unlikely that the tow truck driver is going to get here and get me over to the dealer by 6pm. I’m assured that they’ll make it work for me and stay as late as needed to get me back on the road. 7pm rolls around and after multiple calls back and forth with Roadside Assistance the tow-truck driver finally shows up. I call the dealer to let them know I’m on the way when I get an agent who informs me that they don’t have any other cars to put me in… so just give the key to the driver and he can drop it in the box. This is literally the thing I told them would happen but at this point I’m so burnt out that I just say fine, I’m just going to go without a car for Saturday. They say that they’ll call me tomorrow when my car is done. Sat no call Sun no call Mon no call I call in Monday and I’m told that the tech who was working on my car had to leave but no worries they’ll get someone else to work on it. At this point I’m passing the line of annoyed… Tuesday at 5pm I get a call that my car is done and ready for pick up. I let them know that there’s no way I’m driving across town at 5pm so I just say I’ll pick it up in the morning. Get to the dealer Wed morning exactly 1 week after dropping it off. I’m greeted by the agent who says “ here you go no charge for the repair” I half mumble “recall”… He then says…. “About the “damage” to the rental.” I say “damage”? I got a flat tire. He asks if I looked at it… “yeah I did…. It looked like there were 2 chunks out of the sidewall” He then says that the rims we’re damaged two… I agree they we’re gouged from the pothole but it was just the outer bit of the rim… the trunk (which I did happen to point out when I picked up the car) looked like it was backed into a light pole. I can see where this is going so I ask how much they want to charge me for the “damage” $880 I attempt to hold back a laugh… I fail The agent then says basically it’s $280 per tire and $160 per rim to repair. Eye-roll He asks if I want to get my insurance company involved… I inform him that my car insurance doesn’t cover road hazards. that’s why I get the hazard insurance when I buy my tires. He says “yeah but you didn’t buy these tires there”… Wow. really… I digress. Needless to say I push back and forth with him and he leaves a couple times to go talk to his manager and at the end of it all it’s a “well, sorry… you’re responsible” situation. So I threw down my credit card and bite the bullet and ask where the service managers desk is…. When I walk into the service managers office, my sarcasm and eye-rolling has turned to a red face and quivering voice and it’s all I can do to hold it together enough to tell him that I am EXTREMELY disappointed with the way this situation was handled and will NEVER EVER EVER bring my car in for service at his dealer again. He somewhat shrugs and says sorry that I feel that way and he’ll look into it. It’s been 3 days and I haven’t heard a thing. When I hit that pothole they had a chance to turn around the really crappy experience I was having… but instead they chose to ding me again. And for what $880? The last time I had my car worked on there it was almost $2,500. I promise you they will never see another dollar from me. I will never buy a car from them and I will make it my mission to tell everyone I know with a Subaru to take their car somewhere else. More

There was no pressure at all instead I was given education on what my Outback offered - very enjoyable experience. Everyone at this dealership was helpful and easy going. I had difficulty deciding on a vehicle and color and Chris was patient with me and wanted to make sure I got the right vehicle for me. He spent time with me regarding all my concerns. This was the most enjoyable experience I have had in purchasing a vehicle. Thank you Chris and to all the Nashville Downtown Subaru staff. More

It was the best car buying experience because of the sales person I dealt with, Mr. Rahim Ashari. There were no misleading statements or false promises. He was very sensitive to the boundaries I set, and very respectable space. There were no surprises or gimmicks after all was done. More
Good technical work, lack of organization I have taken my subaru in several times for maintenance and part changes, and the technical service itself is high quality. As for management and the I have taken my subaru in several times for maintenance and part changes, and the technical service itself is high quality. As for management and the experience leading to the service, it lacks organization. They committed to have my parts in two days, I went back in as we agreed, and the parts had not arrived yet. I did not get a call or any sort of notification about this. They tell me to come back in two more days. They did give me a discount for the troubles. Another issue is their customer service on the phone. You call, they transfer you from department to department, the information does not match from person to person, and it just becomes a cluster. They told me it would take 4 hours to fix. 4.5 hours later, they told me it would be another hour. I went to dinner with a friend while I waited for a phone call... Nothing through closing that night. The next day, I went there in a friend's car (they never offered a loaner). As I was parking, a gentleman approached me so I explained the situation. He told me he would check on my car and be right back. NEVER returned! While I waited for him, I called the dealership and they told me my car was not ready. When I asked how long it would take, they told me they'd have to do some research and would let me know. Never got a call back that day. The next day was Sunday, so they were closed. I called on Monday from work, and the lady told me my car had been ready since Friday! What?! When I arrived to pick my car up, all I got was $40 off the alternator belt I had agreed to let them fix. NEVER AGAIN. More

We purchased our latest Subaru from Nashville Subaru. From the start, they were the most upfront about pricing to us. Alex Wallis, whom we worked with, contacted numerous dealerships to locate the car we wanted, kept us informed along the way, and ultimately got us the car we wanted at the price we wanted to pay. We decided to trade-in our older car when we went to pick up the new one because they met the price we were going to be asking were we to sell it ourselves. All in all it was a good experience and I would definitely buy from them again. More

I came in skeptical considering all of the negative reviews here, but I must say I had a pleasant test driving and eventual buying experience. I worked with Arthur and left very satisfied with the service he provided. He seemed genuine and not overly sales-y which I certainly appreciated after dealing with so many car salesman the past few weeks. Is there room for improvement at this dealership? Absolutely. Not the best but by FAR certainly not the worst I have dealt with. Would recommend. More
Berefit of Integrity, honesty, accountability I really thought I wanted a new Forester. The first salesman, Arthur had such a hard time with my name, kept saying I lived somewhere I didnot, it got annoying. Very uninterested. And I gave him a promo I had printed off that obviously he ditched since the coffee gift coupon never came to me. Went back second time and had a car in mind wanted to drive. First walked in and Arthur was busy so they sent a teenager out. he shrugged his shoulders and was horribly offensive-and young. Unbelievable. Then after a 20 minute wait a Chris came out. pleasant enough and we did test drive the car. When went back in he saw a brunette and basically said see ya-going to flirt with her. Rudest most horrible treatment. Still shocked and this has been over a month age. Everyone I told said go back in and see manager. So, third time did and he said he talked to Chris. Started to defend and I stopped him and said his behavior was unconscienceable and no excuses. But we kept talking and he stopped trying to defend his rude behavior. We test drove a car again. The 2017 had features i wanted so we decided to wait. Problem is he has left that company so now it is like all that never happened. Never heard from anyone at that dealership -and now they can order 2017's. But no one there even showed any concern except for that sales manager, Mike. I think if a company wants to be in business they should hire intelligent people . This is the most horrible dealership-and since this all happened I have heard alot of other folks talk about how horrible this place is. If a good Subaru dealer came into Nashville this place would be out of business-within thirty days. I could go on about details but I think anyone reading this will get the jist of it. I even have been in contact with Mike and he could order what I wanted to buy -problem is i would lose so much in shipping across country it is extreme so that is not a good option-but at least he offered. Bad experience with oil change I really can't imagine having a much worse experience with an oil change. My wife went to get an oil change, and they told her whoever had last change I really can't imagine having a much worse experience with an oil change. My wife went to get an oil change, and they told her whoever had last changed the oil had messed up big time and stripped the threading on the female end of the oil pan and that it needed to be replaced. Well turns out that the last person who had changed the oil was THEM. As soon as they realized this they attempted to backpedal but they had already admitted to their own mistake...but would not fix it for free. They claimed the car was now unsafe to drive and would cost $600 to replace the oil pan. And of course they couldn't do it that day so I had to take off work and pick my wife up during rush hour traffic. We then asked when the car would be done the next day and they promised to call us and have it done before rush hour evening traffic the next day. Surprise surprise the car was not done until the heat of rush hour traffic....and that was only after calling 4 times asking when it would be done with multiple unanswered phone calls. More
