Edward W. Napleton, opened his first automotive business in 1931 on Chicago's South Side. With a $700 loan, a strong work ethic and a belief in common courtesy, he opened the Napleton Buick Service Station. Francis Napleton, Edward's son, was by his side to help foster the growth of the young business in its early years.
Napleton's first dealership was a DeSoto franchise, and when that brand was discontinued with little warning, Napleton quickly aligned itself with another Chrysler nameplate, Plymouth, eventually being awarded several additional franchises. Edward and Francis both believed in hard work and exceptional customer service, values that they passed down to the next generation of Napletons. Five of Francis' eight children have worked in the auto business their entire lives.
Edward F. ("Ed") Napleton, Francis' son, is a third-generation auto dealer. He began his career as a kid sweeping the floors at the dealership owned by his father and grandfather. He moved up the ranks, serving as a technician, then in sales and finance, and eventually as a general manager. At just 23 years of age, Ed became the youngest car dealer in the United States when he was awarded a Pontiac dealership in Blue Island, Illinois.
Today, the Ed Napleton Family operates more than 74 franchises in seven states. Taking pride in helping each community they live and work in, the Napleton Family name has become synonymous with excellence and teamwork. What started as a small family-owned business has blossomed into one of the most forward-thinking dealership groups in the country. Four of Ed's five children have proudly joined him in pursuing the family business and have a hand in the company's day-to-day operations.

I had an amazing experience working with Daniel Martinez at Napleton Hyundai in Aurora. He was incredibly helpful from start to finish, taking the time to explain everything clearly and making sure I unders at Napleton Hyundai in Aurora. He really went above and beyond to help me get into my car, and even helped me upgrade to a higher trim with better features, which I truly appreciate. I never felt pressured, and he made the whole process smooth and stress-free. Overall, the entire staff was welcoming and professional, and the customer service was excellent. The best experience at a car dealership. On the 1st day, we were received by Eric Goddard. He was extremely patient with us. We test drove Ionic9, Ionic6, Ionic5, and Pallisade. He was smilling all the time and answered all our questions patiently. He was the reason we visited the showroom the second time to finalize our purchase. However, he was busy with another customer and we met Dillon Strack. He was equally nice and patiently answered all our questions. We test drove the Ionic9 again - just to make sure we investing well. We loved the vehicle. After spending 5-6 hrs at the dealership, and having innumerable conversations with the Manager Mark, and negotiating the price and accessories, we came home with our new vehicle. We love it. I purchased a used 2021 Audi SQ5 from this dealership. Within 15 days and fewer than 500 miles, the vehicle developed a water pump / cooling system issue, which was confirmed by independent repair shops, Within 15 days and fewer than 500 miles, the vehicle developed a water pump / cooling system issue, which was confirmed by independent repair shops, including Audi(roughly $7K repair) I notified the dealership immediately and requested that the vehicle be repaired(as required by Illinois law). After delays, the dealership stated they would only perform the repair if I first signed a “General Release of Claims” waiving past, present, and future claims and agreeing to confidentiality and non-disparagement terms. I explained that requiring this in order to perform the repair was not permitted under Illinois law, but I was told that if I believed that to be the case, I should take the matter to court. Because the dealership refused to perform the repair without signing that document, I opened a complaint with the Illinois Attorney General. While this process is ongoing, I am currently without a vehicle and the dealership has not offered assistance or an alternative solution. I am confident this situation will ultimately be resolved in my favor, but in the meantime I am left without transportation & paying a car note for a car I cannot use. I am sharing this experience so other consumers can make an informed decision. More
