Stereotypical Dealership in Every Way Worked with Caesar to buy my used car. He was about as typical as they come and so was the finance guy. They're smarmy, think they're smooth-talking, and make you wait...and wait...and wait. Caesar actually used a line on me about sitting around at a bbq with my buddies talking about cars and advised that I didn't want to be the guy with the oldest car, as though somehow I should be embarrassed about the age of my vehicle. Fast forward to purchase. Carmen, I think was his name, claimed he couldn't do anything better APR-wise than what my credit union was offering. Told him I'd just re-fi. Got a call from him on my way home and they magically were able to match my credit union! They sent a guy to my work the following day to complete the paperwork but it never went through and I was stuck with the old APR. I subsequently refinanced with my CU. It gets better. When they pulled my car up, the inside smelled of poorly masked, musty residual cig smoke. The seats had hair on them and there was a rag inside. There were also no car mats. I asked for car mats and Caesar had the nerve to say, "If I get you car mats, will you use us for financing?". He ended up getting me car mats, but it was a ballsy thing to ask nonetheless. Shouldn't my $17K car just come with car mats without my asking? Finally, they don't fill up the gas tank. They sent me off the lot with 1/8 tank of gas after spending $17K. Apparently, that's "policy" for used cars. They'll sing about how much they love and value their customers until it costs them any money. You get the idea. Overall, the car was what I needed and it was one of a kind in terms of year/mileage, but if you're buying new, I'd HIGHLY recommend you find another place to do business. More
Rude Sales Team After waiting for half an hour to have someone show me a BRZ, I was told that I couldn't see the car unless I sat down with a finance manager first. T After waiting for half an hour to have someone show me a BRZ, I was told that I couldn't see the car unless I sat down with a finance manager first. They wanted me to buy the car without even seeing it or getting the opportunity to test drive it. The finance manager was pushy and would not take me seriously because I'm young and wanted to see the car before I struck a deal. Unprofessional and ridiculous. More
worse experience I went in to look at buying a new Subaru and I knew what I wanted so it was really about negotiating price. The salesman I worked with was decent and I went in to look at buying a new Subaru and I knew what I wanted so it was really about negotiating price. The salesman I worked with was decent and friendly and his name was Damien. I ran into issues when he called over his boss (can't recall his name). He was rude, disrespectful, and I would never do business especially if he talks his way to all customers. I was trying to negotiate price and looking to buy within a week. He would not discuss pricing or work w/ me unless I bought a car the same day. He continued to talk down to me and it was insulting. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL even if they gave me best pricing I would not do business because of him More
Terrible experience I was looking to purchase a Subaru Legacy and used the online configuration at Subaru.com. It gave me options of local inventory and online pricing f I was looking to purchase a Subaru Legacy and used the online configuration at Subaru.com. It gave me options of local inventory and online pricing for this dealer. I called ahead on a Friday and asked about the car to verify the online quote and the car details were correct. I was assured all the information was accurate. I made an appointment for Saturday morning and drive over an hour to test drive and purchase the Legacy. Keep in mind, that the dealer representative confirmed this car was a 2.5i Premium and was new per the online quote and the phone call that I made. Upon arriving, I request to see the car and the person I am speaking with says "that's the base model loaner car". I brought my paperwork from the online quote stating its a Premium and they just shrugged their shoulders. They proceed to bring the car around and it is filled with dirt & mud on the driver & passenger side. I was in shock! The only reason I came to this dealership was the online quote which was clearly fake and dishonest. I agreed to look at other cars and gave them an opportunity to make this right. The quote they gave me on a new Legacy was $1.5K above another dealer down the road and they would only give me $500 less on trade-in of my current car as well. Honestly, the entire visit was embarrassing from start to finish. Please consider other dealers before working with this dealership. The lack of professionalism here was amazing! One more thing - they made it a point to tell me "we are not responsible for mistakes" over & over again and made me feel like it was my error. While I agree mistakes happen, the same mistake should not happen online and through a phone call. This was clearly bait & switch in my opinion! More

WORST car buying experience ever!!! I bought a new 2016 Forester from Napelton Subaru, but when I went out to get the car IT HAD BEEN CRASHED. No one was going to mention this to me ei I bought a new 2016 Forester from Napelton Subaru, but when I went out to get the car IT HAD BEEN CRASHED. No one was going to mention this to me either, I noticed it for myself. The manager came out and looked at the damage (both passenger doors scraped and a small dent in the from passenger fender) and said they would fix it, but couldn't that day because it was a Saturday so I had to take a half day off work and drive the half hour each way to drop it off on Tuesday. They offered me NOTHING for their mistake or my time. Not the only problem. I paid cash for the car. While I was filling out paperwork the finance manager told me he didn't want to accept my check because it was a "starter check." He told me the options were to go get a cashiers check or to let them run a credit check. I told him that I did not want to run my credit so I would get a cashiers check, but it was Saturday and the bank was closed so I would have to do it Monday. So then he told me, "Well its just a soft credit check and it won't affect your credit." So I said ok. Turned out that was a blatant LIE. I got a notification a couple days later that it was in fact a hard credit check and my credit score took a hit. When I went to pick up the car today I confronted him about this, and he kept repeating, "It was a soft check, its not going to affect your credit, you have good credit its fine if its lowered a few points." NOT ITS NOT. Even when I showed him that it was a hard check, he just kept repeating that. Then he said, "This could have been avoided because I offered not to run it by you getting having a regular or cashiers check." I made that decision BASED ON HIS LIE. Then I get the car home and guess what? You can see exactly where it was painted over. Like spray paint. STAY AWAY from any Napelton dealers. Don't buy from there and don't get service there. They are liars, their service department crashed and spray painted my car and they have no customer service. More
Sleazy, dishonest crooks This dealership is run by dishonest management who backs out of price agreements, sells cars with known problems, and fraudulently tries to collect yo This dealership is run by dishonest management who backs out of price agreements, sells cars with known problems, and fraudulently tries to collect your credit information at the point of a non-financed sale. Note their 2-star rating on Yelp with dozens of similar complaints. We were interested in a used car which had been on the Napleton Subaru lot for a long period of time and whose price had been reduced a few times. The car came with a 2-month 'major mechanical' warranty but had a fault with the brakes. The dealership offered a price $400 higher than we were looking to pay and committed to fixing the brake issue at their expense. After some back and forth, we agreed to their number, only to have them go back on their offer and raise the price by *another* $300 because there was "too much interest in the car" (later found out there were no other interested parties). After calling them out on this and going through several more maddening rounds of negotiation, they agreed to go back to their original number but they would not repair the brakes (as they had promised to do) and they would not cover the car under a limited warranty (as the sticker claimed they would). Despite these red flags we agreed to buy the car. We paid their service center to repair the brakes and went to complete the sales paperwork. We were *not* financing the car but were presented a form clearly labeled "Credit Application" and were told by the salesperson that it was "required by the Patriot Act" that we provide SSN, date of birth, and other sensitive financial information to receive the title to the car. Note to prospective buyers: there is absolutely zero legal requirement from the Patriot Act or otherwise for you to provide your SSN or fill out a credit app to receive a car's title that you are paying for in cash or your own pre-approved financing source. This is a scam designed to get access to your credit report in order to qualify you for finance sources the dealer uses (and makes money from). We stood firm on not filling it out, got the keys, and got out as fast as we could. Napleton's Schaumburg Subaru is a stealership in every sense of the word that pulls out every dealer scam in the book. Avoid at all costs. More
