No customer service skills/bait and switch After talking to the dealership on what I was looking for, they said that they had a car that met my criteria. Told them that I was driving out there After talking to the dealership on what I was looking for, they said that they had a car that met my criteria. Told them that I was driving out there to test drive this car. 45 minutes later and a waste of gas! I met with Nelson, we sat down and discussed this car. Low and behold that it was sold. Fattest sell in the world. Told me that he had others to sell on there remote lot. After a 10 minute drive. Nelson showed us some cars that met our criteria. After picking out some stock numbers we drove back to the dealership. After a few rounds of getting the out the door price. He said that he would have to check with the mgr. Well it went downhill from there. NO WAY we could sell that car for that price! We would lose money. That's what the mgr. told us. Well I got up and walked out the door. Old bait and switch. NEVER GO TO THIS DEALERSHIP. Waste of my time! More
Since changing ownership, the service center has screwed up my family's '05 Outback three times. After the first visit, the fuel door would not open, no matter how many times you pulled the lever. It requir up my family's '05 Outback three times. After the first visit, the fuel door would not open, no matter how many times you pulled the lever. It required being levered open with a key, screwdriver, or something similar. We have since fixed the problem on our own. The second time, there was a problem in the steering column and when taking it apart, they lost a part of it. Instead of being in the service center for a few days, they had it for over a week while they puttered around, waiting for the part, standing around, and then getting our car back to us hours after we told them we'd be needing it. This last time, the belt on the engine broke. The day we got it back, I drove it from the dealership to home. Once in the garage, I noticed what appeared to be smoke coming out from under the hood and in through the vent. After poking around under the hood for almost an hour to figure out what was going on, we found that they had forgotten to put a hose back that they'd needed to disconnect in the first place to get at the broken belt, resulting in the entire engine block and various other areas under the hood to be covered in a mixture of water, antifreeze, and coolant. Once putting the hose back and locking it in place, the car began to overheat quickly and smoke. We put an entire bottle of antifreeze in and now it runs as it did before but needless to say, we have little to no desire to entrust our car to them again. More
I was a serious buyer in need of a car after a crash claimed my last one. After a week of research online, and in the newspaper I traveled around to look for what I wanted. Of course all the cars I want claimed my last one. After a week of research online, and in the newspaper I traveled around to look for what I wanted. Of course all the cars I wanted had been sold and every car they offered as a substitute came with a ton of miles and a high price tag. As a college student paying my own way I had a limited budget. I searched for 2 days going in and out of dealerships, when I should have just traveled up the road and been done with it. They are conveniently located on Higgins road, very friendly, and willing to do business. I walked out of there with a car I am satisfied with at an agreeable price. I appreciate everything they have done and would definitely recommend people stopping in during their car search. More
I'm AMAZED that this place still stays in business given the way they treat their current and prospective customers. This dealership was extremely rude to me, kept me waiting around constantly, act given the way they treat their current and prospective customers. This dealership was extremely rude to me, kept me waiting around constantly, acted very disgruntled with my requests and I am ASTONISHED by their scammy business practices. DO NOT DEAL WITH THEM. Let me start off by saying this isn't my first time buying a car and I understand how the typical smooth operator salesmen work. They give you a price, then try to charge extra fees (used car inspection fee, listing fee, marketing fee, advanced detailing fees) until you finally settle on an out-the-door price. Some of the fees are fluff, and others are required and non-negotiable e.g. title/registration fees. It's fine, I get it--it comes with the territory. With that understanding going in, as a car buyer, you need to stay focused and negotiate on the out-the-door price so you can cut through the xxxxxxxx. Finally you get to a point, after much back and forth, where you agree on final price and it's time to put together the papers and sign them. And when I mean final price, I mean we've explicitly stated exactly the number you will be taking out of my bank account--exactly the number that I will be writing the check for with all fees considered. What I find ASTONISHING, is how even AFTER you've AGREED on a FINAL PRICE taking into account all the FEES, your salesman comes back and with a DIFFERENT number on the papers--DIFFERENT FROM THE PRICE YOU AGREED ON and expect you to not NOTICE and just sign it? Oh, well maybe the manager made a "mistake". Weird how that mistake ends up pushing the price higher huh? I am not going to deal with a business that engages in these nefarious and dishonest practices. I have zero tolerance for this type of xxxxxxxx and I hope others are made aware of this. Don't end up having your precious time wasted here. More
Napleton Subaru dealership is new they took over the Schaumburg Subaru dealership several years ago.The dealership is a totally different company, with excellent service, great customer service and a sup Schaumburg Subaru dealership several years ago.The dealership is a totally different company, with excellent service, great customer service and a super nice staff . We recommend the Napleton Subaru dealership in Schaumburg to everyone that wants to buy a quality vehicle, especially if they are looking to purchase a Subaru, The customer service is excellent and the employees are very friendly. The salesman that we recommend is Jeff Treadwell, he is very detailed about the Subaru vehicles. However, he is very professional, honest, and has an excellent attitude with lots of patience and not a person that makes you feel pressured in purchasing a vehicle. My wife and I met Jeff Treadwell (the salesman) at the dealership about six years ago, during that time we had a service problem, but he got involved in making sure that our problem was taken care of, years later we have purchased new vehicles (more than one) from him. When it comes to buying a car Jeff wants to make sure that you are happy and do not feel pressured in purchasing a vehicle. What ever it takes in getting the car of your choice and at a good price(deal), he will bend over backwards in going above and beyond for a customer, including when dealerships within the area are short of trades in the model you want. We, like how he makes sure before you leave the lot (after purchasing a car) that he reviews everything with you regarding the operations inside and outside your auto, he also makes sure that he answers any questions that you may have. My wife and I wanted the new 2014 Forester and we had already purchased the 2012 fifteen months ago but due to the size adjustment inside being expanded in the 2014, we traded in the 2012, so that my legs (spouse) would not continue to be cramped up while driving. We informed Jeff about us changing to the new model, during that time we learned that this vehicle had a high demand (in purchases)and dealerships could not keep them in stock. Jeff, drove to another dealership out of state and did a dealership trade(from a new 2014 Forester color white) for the color we wanted which was silver. Jeff Treadwell is the person to see if you are looking to buy a Subaru. We love Subaru vehicles, and will always remain loyal to Napelton Subaru dealership as a customer for life and we look forward to having Jeff Treadwell as our salesman, especially when we can continue to count on him in making sure that all services for our Subaru and Buick are met to our satisfaction. I will not recommend this dealership to anyone. Very poor customer service, no one returns phone calls, and the staff you do get a hold of doesn't know a thing! A car was sold to me with the traction control customer service, no one returns phone calls, and the staff you do get a hold of doesn't know a thing! A car was sold to me with the traction control light on, and I was told that the service dept did a thorough inspection, and the car passed. After taking the car to a mechanic, the car needs ball joints, and struts. More
