In the market for a new sport compact. Have recently been test driving a number of different cars that fall into this category. Upon recently visiting this dealership, I was greeted appropriately, but been test driving a number of different cars that fall into this category. Upon recently visiting this dealership, I was greeted appropriately, but things went downhill fast. I told the salesman Marty which cars i've been researching - wrx, vw gti, ford focus st, and the mazda speed3 and am trying to narrow it down. After some discussion and a chat with his manager, Marty comes back saying they don't allow test drives until a price is agreed on and paperwork signed. He goes on to tell me a sob story about having to teach some customer how to drive stick! It would be quite evident if the person can drive a manual or not in the first few minutes behind the wheel. I can understand keeping the miles low. However, this is a mazda we're talking about not a Ferrari or some other high performance and rare car. More importantly, how can they expect to sell a car if a customer can't drive it. I was not prepared to discuss any numbers at that time as I haven't chosen a car yet. It would be completely pointless to waste time researching deals and offers until a specific car is decided upon. I realized at that point dealing with this place would be a dead end. There are other mazda dealers in the area, so I don't think getting a test drive is that big of an issue. If this policy is consistent between with other mazda dealers, then there's little reason to even consider it. It is unfortunate this how they choose to do business. Buyer beware and don't be afraid to say no/walk away from such strong arm tactics. More
I brought my 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix in for a transmission problem. I purchased the car with an extended warranty. Charlene was my first contact, she got the car in and I had a brand new loaner c transmission problem. I purchased the car with an extended warranty. Charlene was my first contact, she got the car in and I had a brand new loaner car to use while mine was being repaired. Long story short, the transmission was rebuilt but still had a problem. The transmission was eventually replaced. The point of this review is that, even though I had to bring the car back a few times, they worked with me on resolving the issue with a great attitude and determination even though I did not buy my car from them. I own two Pontiac's and have had them both serviced by this dealer. they do great work and I would recommend them to anyone who needs service. One last thing, Robin the cashier always with a smile on her face and was always very helpful with getting the loaner car set up. A++++ on service and friendliness. More
Let me start off by saying that car buying is NEVER fun, I'd rather get a root canal. It's even worse when buying used cars, which is what we were buying. After 2-weeks of bad test drives, liars and other I'd rather get a root canal. It's even worse when buying used cars, which is what we were buying. After 2-weeks of bad test drives, liars and other various, bad experiences, we decided to shift gears and look at Mazda. I previously owned a Mazda MPV (which I bought brand new). We arrived at Napleton's to test drive a used MPV they had listed on Autotrader. Wes greeted us with a friendly, laid-back introduction. We arrived at the car to discover that the body was a disaster, it looked like someone had taken a key to both sides, all over, it was not pretty. I kept an open mind and drove the car, wow, it was a great drive, just as I'd remembered. This told me that the dealership must not be in the game of selling bad used cars. Mechanically this was a great deal. We went back into Wes' office to discuss our options and the GSM, Tim, came over. He could see that we were hesitant because of the body work that would be needed, which the dealership was willing to do for us. He offered a newer model at the same or better price. We took it out, again, drove like a dream, mechanically solid....we were sold! Eventually we came to an agreement on the price, a price which I feel was very fair. A few side-notes 1. We were very worn down from shopping so we did not take it to a mechanic before buying....shame on us. 2. We will have to get the alignment done - it's off a bit 3. The car doesn't have the owner's manual - they put the owner's manual case in the glove box, but it was empty 4. The GSM told us he had the car on the internet for $7995 but would give it to us for the same price as the first car. What he didn't tell us was that the car was on the internet as a special for significantly less. That said, I'm glad we (my husband) drove a hard bargain. Sales people are sales people 5. It was nice to see the GSM and salesperson working together. The GSM and salesperson really worked as a team, it was great to see this type of interaction. All in all this was a great experience, I would come back to this dealership for our next purchase. I feel good about our purchase and I would recommend anyone to give them a shot, especially in this oversaturated used car market...it's brutal out there! More

The service department was very friendly and took care of my problem right away. I thought that the price was a little high ($77) as the repair consisted of replacing the 4 brake light bulbs. When compared my problem right away. I thought that the price was a little high ($77) as the repair consisted of replacing the 4 brake light bulbs. When compared to an oil change and the amount of labor involved the oil change is a much better bang for the buck. In spite of this I still was very satisified with the service I received. More
We purchased a 2010 Mazda CX9 a year ago. When we purchased the salesman pushed for us to purchase the scratch and paint chip coverage. Well come to find out this week when we took it in to have the purchased the salesman pushed for us to purchase the scratch and paint chip coverage. Well come to find out this week when we took it in to have the brakes looked at that it was money not well spent. You can't get a sratch or paint chip fixed at all so what is this good for. For heavens sake next time I'm wearing a sign that says NO!!! Also, they don't have someone on site to do this work, they have to call for them to come to the shop to do the work, service person told us that when we got there and said wish he would of known, Hello, when we made the appointment we told the girl that was what we wanted done as well. A heads up to those interested in purchasing new Mazda vehicle. This dealer lures the customer in the show room with "lease" pricing even though you specifically asked purchase price. They did provide the vehicle. This dealer lures the customer in the show room with "lease" pricing even though you specifically asked purchase price. They did provide the price via email and backed off. Had a terrible, awful experience, now I know why this dealer is not certified by the Better Business Bureau (BBB). I should have relied on the others' comments I read on this site. I will pursue this dealers' business practices with Mazda Headquarter, Attorney General's Office, BBB, and FTC. More
dont even bother dealing with the sales team here. i literally begged these guys (the internet sales team), to provide me a price quote on a new vehicle (i had to make a purchase asap since my transmiss literally begged these guys (the internet sales team), to provide me a price quote on a new vehicle (i had to make a purchase asap since my transmission blew out on my existing car). I must have sent 5 emails begging them to sell me a car and they never responded to a single email. I wanted to negotiate a price by email/phone and buy from them for the convenience factor since they are located just minutes from my home and i was willing to pay a premium (up to $700 more than the lowest price quote i received) rather than drive 40 miles away to get a lower price. anyway, all the negative feedback related to this establishment seems to be consistent and legit. they really have no idea how to do business. unfortunately for them, they lost an almost guaranteed sale on a new 2012 mazda 5 plus a lifetime of service business. i ended up buying a car from kissy freeman at autobarn evanston. She was fantastic and worked really hard to get me the best possible deal. More
I did not pay attention to the lower rating of this dealership compared to other Mazda dealership in the Chicagoland area and paid a price for it. I recently bought a 2010 Mazda5 advertised by them on dealership compared to other Mazda dealership in the Chicagoland area and paid a price for it. I recently bought a 2010 Mazda5 advertised by them on Cars.com as a new car with 2 miles on it. When I went to the dealership they did not let me test drive it citing the car has no gas but offered another new 2010 Mazda5 for test drive. Thereafter I was pressurized/tricked to finalize the price & write a check before they can make this car ready. Upon delivery I found that the car had 614 miles on it but since I had already signed the check, I unhappily went ahead with the purchase at the advertised price although the value of a new car with over 600 miles is certainly much less that a one with 2 miles on it. Afterwards I called the manager of the dealership about offering me compensation for deceptively selling me a new car with much higher mileage than what they advertised. He immediately agreed to offer $600 worth of service plan/accessories if I turn in a perfect mazda survey. During the selling process they had also dropped a veiled threat of not taking good care of customers who rate them poorly on this survey so I decided to entertain this suggestion. When no survey arrived in mail for over 3 weeks, I went to talk to him in person. Not only did he renege on his promise, he was also very rude in his behavior. He did not even show the basic courtesy to hear me out. Here are my 2 cents from this unsavory car buying experience: - Don't take the dealership advertisement on face value. Ask questions about everything relevant - Make sure you test drive the exact same car that you want to buy before you commit to any price - Don't sign any check until you take the delivery. Even if you sign the check know that you can walk out of the deal if anything is amiss before sign the the final set of papers at the end - Check the TMV (not just invoice & MSRP) on Edmands.com. It accounts for all direct/indirect incentives that the manufacturer is offering - Finally stick with businesses recommended by BBB or companies like Carmax who care about their reputation. Avoid such unscrupulous dealership if you can. The deal might sound good on surface but you may end up paying somewhere else. As Warren Buffett said, You can't make a good deal with a bad person More
