Got the exact car we wanted at the exact price advertised The one thing I don't want is a car payment - I'd rather buy an older vehicle and own it outright. I'm not working as hard as I do to make the banks The one thing I don't want is a car payment - I'd rather buy an older vehicle and own it outright. I'm not working as hard as I do to make the banks money. So, when our 04 Impala was totaled by a drunk last month, I first looked to the used inventory of our local car dealerships. We didn't have what I was looking for locally, which was pretty specific: clean carfax, newer than 2004, fewer than 130k miles, leather, sunroof, 4 door sedan - all for under $4500. So I scoured the internet - craigslist, autotrader, cars.com, etc. Finally found an 04 Kia Amanti thru carfax.com. Clean carfax, 125k miles, leather, sunroof - priced at $4214. Napleton had it at Schaumburg Buick GMC. I sent an e-mail inquiry to confirm that the vehicle was there, and received a call from Natalie who did confirm that the vehicle was there. It was going to be a few days before I was able to get to Illinois from Indiana to see the car, so we set up that we'd confirm the appointment the day before. The day before, I dealt with Stephanie and set up a time the next day to come see the car. My wife and I arrived at the dealership - an hour and a half late thanks to road construction!! - and found the Amanti sitting right outside the service department door. Looked good. Slight blemish on the right rear - the carfax was clean, but it had hit something and someone (previous owner, I'd guess) had "fixed" it, and used flat black paint on that spot instead of making it glossy black to match the rest of the car. Seeing that, we decided to wander the lot and see what else they had. I have to say, I liked the fact that I was on a "big city" car lot with a few hundred cars, and we were able to wander the entire lot without having someone on us the second our feet hit the pavement. The atmosphere was relaxed, and I appreciate that. As we were wandering back toward the building, we encountered Pat from the sales department, who was parking the Kia back on the lot - they probably thought we weren't coming, considering we were now pushing 2 hours late! Pat showed us the car. Very nice car - I know some people don't take Kia seriously in their attempts to build a luxury car, but those people are missing out. Blemish on the back corner or not, this car rides like a dream. No rattles, squeaks, roars or other tell-tale sounds of impending repair bills. No leaks or drips. Everything worked. I had done my homework before coming in - done the blue book check on the car, read reviews on Edmunds and elsewhere, and knew that the price they were asking for it was more than reasonable. So that was that. Cash transaction, fill out the paperwork, here's the keys, and we're off. We were there to see a specific car at a specific price, and that's exactly what was provided. Everything was done in a professional and friendly manner, and the atmosphere was wonderful. Thank you to everyone for making this as seamless as possible! More
Would never go back Trying to help out daughter out buying a car on her own. After having an overwhelming bullying session with the salesman and the "sales manager" with Trying to help out daughter out buying a car on her own. After having an overwhelming bullying session with the salesman and the "sales manager" with the whole haggle process-we would not consider them again. We had asked for the Carfax at least 5 times in the 2 visits we made to look at the car she liked. They never showed it, and told us it is was clean. There were no accidents reported. But, they were very persistent on trying to get her to sign on the dotted line to start the purchase process.. What we later found out is that it is against the law for them to sell us the car without a signed Carfax acknowledgement. We think they were going to slip that into the paperwork. We did find out that the car was in an accident. Which is a big deal to us. The next day, I looked up online "used car salesman tactics"-and it outlined pretty much word for word how the dealership treated us. We just felt they were more aggressive than the other dealerships that we had seen in the last 3 weeks.. More
Worst Car Experience Let me first say that I have never written these reviews-good or bad. But, I feel like buyers need to be aware of the way they do business at Napleton Let me first say that I have never written these reviews-good or bad. But, I feel like buyers need to be aware of the way they do business at Napleton. I went there only due to a reference and ended up walking out on car sale due to the way I was treated. I was treated like I was an idiot. At no time (even after multiple requests) was I shown the numbers. By that I mean, they were playing games with a car payment without telling me the price they were willing to sell the car. Since I was walking into a situation that I thought I could trust the people I was working with, I told them my range of car payment. That was my first mistake. If I thought they would be as manipulative as they were, I never would have shared that information. They began with a blank piece of paper with some lines on it. They wouldn't show or tell me what they were going to charge me for the car or the interests rate on the vehicle. We requested to see the invoice and we're never given an opportunity. In addition, they put multiple car protections/warranties/services into a car payment. They refused to show me anything in black and white. Everything revolved around a car payment that was absolutely inflated. At one point, I was asked to sign something for the salesman to request lower because it was "the bottom of the barrel" and he was embarrassed to ask. It needed to be my offer, "not his." It also stated that if he got the payment to the amount I wanted that I would definitely buy the car. At this point, they still had not shown me the price or interest rate. Needless to say, this pattern continued for two hours and I left. This is the Cliff Note's version of they tricks they tried. I later found out at least two lies they told me about options and GMC financing. I ended up buying this car with more options from an honest dealer. They showed me the cost of the car, the interest rate, rebates the minute we started talking about completing the day. The FIRST payment at the other dealership was over $100 less than the first offer Napleton proposed. I would never buy a car from Napleton. If you do, just make sure you're informed about cost and are willing to be patient before you walk into this dealership. More
I was working with Kevin to purchase a car. While waiting for the dealership to get the exact car, another local dealer bettered their offer. I was still interested in purchasing from Kevin and when waiting for the dealership to get the exact car, another local dealer bettered their offer. I was still interested in purchasing from Kevin and when I got to the dealership to finalize the purchase I explained I received a better offer by $400. Kevin tried and to my surprise Brian the sales manager started cursing over the phone to Kevin but everyone in the dealership could hear because they were less than 15 feet apart. I got up from the seat and told Brian to come talk to me. He walks to me aggressively and throws my down payment check towards my face and told me to go buy the car from the other dealership! We had an exchange of words and honestly thought he was going to get physical. Needless to say I walked out and another customer in the parking lot approached me and said he chose to leave because of what he heard. My biggest concern is that Kevin did all this work and lost the deal because of a Manager with little management and customer service skills! I told Kevin he's in the right industry but at the wrong dealership. I purchased the GMC from the other dealership and wrote a great review as well. The Napleton Family needs to be aware and offer the proper training to their managers. More

The gentleman we spoke with did not seem interested in what we want. He kepted refering to what he had to sell. I went into this dealership recently because of an ad I saw online about a used car. The car was alright and the price was not terrible however the customer service was terrible. Skylar showed me the car w saw online about a used car. The car was alright and the price was not terrible however the customer service was terrible. Skylar showed me the car with Adam who was in training. Adam was excellent and I wish he could have helped us instead of the other two gentleman. Adam was personable and conversational. Skylar was not rude until we sat down to talk about trade-in and prices and even then he didn't seem to be intentionally rude, just unaware. My trade-in is a much older car however the offer of $100-$200 is insulting, I could sell it to a junk yard for more than that. I have been quoted between $1000-$2000 on my car but the price wasn't the biggest issue. My biggest issue was the way I was spoken to. I was talked to like I had no idea what I was talking about, there was not one instance of kindness. I was told how terrible my current vehicle is, more than once. I was not rude but I was firm in telling them that the trade in value was important to me. I had another dealer willing to pay a certain amount so if they couldn't give me a better offer (which I more than understood) then I would have to go back to that dealer. I felt that was a fair an honest comment. I asked to have a minute to discuss this alone with my boyfriend (when I finally got them to say that they could do 1500 depending on my down payment). We were actually discussing how I didn't appreciate Skylars approach so far, but that he was probably a nice guy and we were talking about maybe offering a decent down payment and see what they did with that. The original sales person did not return, he instead sent in Tom. Tom proceeded to laugh at the 1500 dollar trade-in offer, and tell me how bad other dealers are (not even knowing which dealerships I was referring too). He spent more time talking bad about other dealerships without ever explaining what was so positive about his. He had no intention of hearing us out but instead would rather argue with us. I have visited many dealers and have never had an experience like this before. They weren't even aware that we were about to put down an offer because they sent in their closer who didn't say one nice thing to us. He was used only to argue and talk down to us. I was happy to walk away without letting them have my sale. They were completely unaware that customer service would have won me over more than pricing. I do not mind a lower trade-in value if I am talked to with respect . I would not recommend this dealership to anyone where customer service is important. More
I had the best experience I have ever had while buying a used car. I found a possible choice online and made contact. I was immediately responded to by Amy Woolsey. The car that I had originally selected wa used car. I found a possible choice online and made contact. I was immediately responded to by Amy Woolsey. The car that I had originally selected was unavailable but Amy made sure to provide me with a couple of alternate choices. In a very short time we agreed on a car that was in excellent condition, at a price that I could afford and was delivered to me immediately. This was the best experience that I have ever had while buying a used car. Thank you Amy, you are the best. I will be back for my next car and I am confident to recommend you to everyone that asks me about my new purchase. You are the greatest. Jeff W....One very satisfied customer. More
