We stopped by Autobarn Mazda of Countryside late in the afternoon on a rainy Saturday a little weary of the used car buying process. We had just come from another Mazda dealership where we had been jerked afternoon on a rainy Saturday a little weary of the used car buying process. We had just come from another Mazda dealership where we had been jerked around for nearly 2 1/2 hours, ultimately having to walk away. We were expecting the worst, but things turned out very well. We test drove a similar car, though a little out of our price range. At that moment, they didn't have any others on the lot that fit our specs, so we went in & made an offer, knowing it would probably be rejected & that we'd just be on our way. However, Joe came out and told us about a nearly identical car that he had available well within our price range that would be in on the following Monday. He quoted us what we felt was a very good price along with a price for the certification/warranty and we put down a (refundable) deposit & said we'd be back Monday. The car turned out to be in every bit as good of shape as described & my husband went to financing to purchase. At this point, we learned that the warranty price quoted on Saturday was not for the full coverage warranty, and that another was available for a significant amount more. This was our only disappointment, as we had been under the impression that this was already included in our expected final price. Yasin (hope I'm spelling that right, correct me if wrong!) worked with my husband & brought the price down a bit & in the end we are quite happy with the purchase & would definitely go back if/when we buy another vehicle. We were commenting that even if our offer had finally been accepted at the previous dealership we'd visited, we probably would never have gone back after the way we were treated. Autobarn Mazda of Countryside seems to know there is value in treating your customers with respect and fairness. More
I spent a few weeks researching Mazda's. I found that the 2007 mazda3 seemed like a great fit for me and I noticed that Mazda of Countryside, as well as others, had plenty of these around. Countryside happen 2007 mazda3 seemed like a great fit for me and I noticed that Mazda of Countryside, as well as others, had plenty of these around. Countryside happened to be the closest dealership in my area so that's where I went. However, after looking at the used Mazda's I soon realized that, with interest factored in, I'd be paying the same amount for a used one asI would be for a new one(with 0% apr)(THEY GOT ME 0%!!)!! So that became a quick/easy decision when I visited Bassam for the first time. He showed me the new models and exactly what I asked him for. he never put ANY pressure on me to buy/upgrade/get features, but simply showed me the facts, no begging. He was really helping me out. I made some important decisions and the next day, I went back and bought my first car. Quick, painless, and the price was right. Thanks to Bassam and Brian for helping me make my decision, and I frankly, couldn't be happier! I'm flippin' ecstatic about the car, I love driving it, I love looking at it. and if you can, GET THE BOSE! I'm a male, 22 yo, just got a job, and I'm livin' the dream. 10.0/10.0 for this place and the people there! oh, and Bassam looks like the guy from Disturbed, so that's extra points! rock-on, zoom zoom. Transparency. That really sums up my experience with this dealership. From the first moment at looking at their website until the deal was done. Transparent. I think the greatest apprehension that mo this dealership. From the first moment at looking at their website until the deal was done. Transparent. I think the greatest apprehension that most new car buyers have is that they don't know where the numbers come from, how the salesman gets to those numbers and whether those numbers have anything to do with reality. This dealership put those concerns to rest almost from the beginning. I first started looking for a Mazda3 s GT on cars.com. I needed a dealership within 25 miles of where I live. A number of dealerships came up, but Autobarn Mazda of Countryside caught my attention. Their website was not only one of very few that had many pictures of the vehicle both inside and outside, but a picture of the window sticker as well. You saw exactly the car they were advertising and you saw the exact sticker on the vehicle. No guessing or wondering how they got to their number. I looked at many other websites as well, but Autobarn of Countryside (not the one in Evanston) was one of very few that didn't use stock photos. I called up the dealership and made an appointment with Kris. He was friendly on the phone and just as friendly in person. Before I went, though, I had done quite a bit of research. Initially, I was interested in a particular low mileage used car that I had seen on their website. But, just in case, I also researched new cars. I read up and knew the invoice pricing and I knew about the incentives. Also, I went in knowing exactly what car, model and trim level I roughly wanted. Once I got to the dealership, Kris was sitting at his desk waiting for my arrival. That's a nice change from going to a dealership where the salesman knows you're coming but still can't be bothered to be around for your arrival. The experience started nicely already. Kris initially showed me the used car. It was exactly as represented on the website and as he had described on the phone. Then, he went and did some numbers and came back and said that a new car could be had for about the same price as the used one once all the incentives were factored in. I already knew this going in, so I agreed to look at new cars as well. At this point, Kris didn't even attempt to do a hard sell on me. He showed me the pricing and the source I needed to see, showed me the other costs associated with getting the automobile (doc fees, advertising, etc.) and then gave me the final price. It was all written down and summed up, etc. Transparent. No guessing at all. I know what numbers he started from and the source, the required add-ons (as I knew already from my research) and then the subtractions because of the incentives. The price I paid was far better than the Edmunds True Market Value number. I spent exactly three hours there from arrival to departure, with literally zero minutes haggling. There were no games along the lines of writing numbers and crossing them out in counteroffers, no silliness of "you're killing me, but I'll go talk to my manager about it" nonsense, and none of the other dealer shenanigans that a purchaser is warned about. My time there was mostly spent actually choosing the car, which is really the fun part. Since Kris was transparent in showing the numbers, I didn't worry about haggling over the pricing for every car that I considered. I was able to specify what I wanted, they showed me the pricing data that I needed to see and I was able to choose the vehicle in the color, configuration and price I wanted. The biggest delays were only because they were searching their databases to find exactly what I wanted. Once the selection of the car was done, all that remained was working on the financing. Of course, here is where the dreaded finance manager is met and where the unrelenting pressure to buy an extended warranty is applied. In my case? None of that. Brian presented me the choices in a low key but informative manner, we discussed pricing, terms, etc. I declined. He confirmed. We finished with the rest of the process. No hard pressure. Also, the dealer provides certain extras that are nice if you can make use of them. Lifetime free car washes, free oil changes for the first year, an initial paint protection application and some black plastic stripping around the wheel wells. None of it is expensive (other than the oil changes), but it's more than many other dealers do. So, the effort is much appreciated. Transparency is key to having a stress-free buying experience. And that's exactly what I got here. And, all the people I dealt with were friendly. Smiles all around and friendly comments. The environment was very unlike some where you feel like you're walking into a den of vipers and the salesman always appear to be trying to pull a fast one. Now, all of that being said, I understand it's a money-making venture and that as a customer I have to be aware of that fact. I am. It's just that the people here projected a nice down-to-earth friendly feel. I'd buy from here again if I'm ever in the market for a Mazda once more. More
We live about 30 mins away and with a 1 year old child, it was difficult to get to the dealership. However they were so helpful even on the phone, and Kris was always available to answer my questions and it was difficult to get to the dealership. However they were so helpful even on the phone, and Kris was always available to answer my questions and create the best possible deal for us. He even offered to let us test-drive our car over the entire weekend so we could see how it fit into our family. That was what helped us decide to purchase our new car. We will highly recommend this dealership, and Kris Krasowski, to all of our friends and family. Thanks for the great service!!! More
Wow - I never new I would actually say that I had fun buying a car! My inital contact with the Autobarn was via the internet and my lead was responded to right away. Bassam came across as friendly wi buying a car! My inital contact with the Autobarn was via the internet and my lead was responded to right away. Bassam came across as friendly without being over-bearing or pushy (great email ettiquette). He located a car with my "want" list and more+ quickly which was critical considering the 0% financing option was over at the end of the day! He got me a great price right off the bat and worked with me to get even a lower - many other dealers that were quoting against the Autobarn walked away while others just couldn't believe the deal and warned me that it was too good to be true = NOT the case! Bassam was upfront and honest during the entire process and I didn't feel pressured - I went right after work with my 11 month old son (which is an interesting story in itself) and bought the car. Bassam and the people at The Autobarn did a great job accomodating not only me, but my baby - keeping us happy and comfortable and eventually sending us off in our new CX-9 for the rest of the family to enjoy for many years to come. Great Experience - Thanks Again! More
Our sales experience @ Autobarn Mazda/Countryside was a high-quality one. Everyone that we met that day was relaxed, courteous and respectful throughout the process. Attitudes were all very positive and high-quality one. Everyone that we met that day was relaxed, courteous and respectful throughout the process. Attitudes were all very positive and customer-service orientated-- even when people might think you weren't paying attention to them. We had a very specific budget and an in-stock, car configuration that we were visiting multiple dealerships for. We worked very well with Bassam, who was genuinely friendly and cheerful the whole time. He was very informative and responsive in our negotiations. I believe that we negotiated and pushed hard for the best deal possible, because we had done all our homework ahead of time, all the while Bassam was always upfront and clear in these discussions. He worked hard to make the deal work to our satisfaction. After we agreed on a final total price, we worked with Brian in financing. Brian was also very straight-forward, and clear in his explanations and any options they wanted to sell. He was thorough and efficient with all the paperwork. We never felt like we were rushed or being talked into anything. All the numbers were clearly stated; there was nothing hidden or surprising. He answered all questions honestly and conversationally with a good amount of humor. I especially would recommend visiting Bassam and Brian at this dealership. I hope their attitudes of professionalism, great customer service skills and awareness are exemplary of the culture there at Autobarn Countryside. More
This is the first time that the car buying experience was truly enjoyable and respectful on both ends. I did not have to talk to a manager at all to negotiate a price and the salesman was cordial, unintrusi truly enjoyable and respectful on both ends. The Autobarn of Countryside far exceeded my expectations. I give it the highest rating for two reasons; the salesman that sold me my car and the respect I was treated with. To start, this was my first car I give it the highest rating for two reasons; the salesman that sold me my car and the respect I was treated with. To start, this was my first car buying experience so I was afraid I would be taken advantage of. I went to one dealership in which I found my initial perfect car (the Continental Nissan Dealership in Countryside, IL). The only thing was, they would not budge on helping me get to a price I was comfortable with and they did not seem like they wanted to work with me. So I left and went to the Autobarn and I could have made a smarter move. The salesman I worked with, Bassam, treated me with respect. So much respect that I felt more like a friend than a customer. I was not pressured into buying and he was not pushy at all. At the end of the day, I ended up paying more for the Mazda than I would have paid for the other car at the other dealership but I was totally ok with it because everything was laid on the table for me to see and there were no hidden charges or fees. Bassam played a big role in the purchase of my Mazda. I would (and have) recommend this dealership to anyone looking for a new or used car. I will definitely go back to the Autobarn of Countryside in the future. More
Love my new 2010 Mazda 6 Grand Touring...... I was able to take the car home for the weekend as a courtesy before I made my decision. Having been given the chance for an extended test drive - really helpe to take the car home for the weekend as a courtesy before I made my decision.
