After visiting other dealers and having to put up with all of the usual annoying sales tactics, I was pleasantly surprised by how enjoyable our experience with CJ Wilson was. Our sales person Justin Anderson could not have been more friendly and helpful and the lack of high pressure sales tactics was very refreshing. Other dealerships did not want to take no for an answer when we refused their financing in favor of our own bank, they pushed for deposits to hold the car for us even after telling them we weren't even ready to buy the car yet, and called more often than a desperate ex-girlfriend. Justin and the CJ Wilson team did none of that nonsense. Yes they did offer us financing, extended warrenty, and the chance to hold the car with a deposit, but when we said we weren't interested they dropped it and moved on with the care buying process. They even offered to let us take the car home for the weekend even though we live 1.5 hours away from Countryside. To sum it all up they did what you want a car dealer to do without the tactics that everyone dreads when buying a car. More

Ryan Kieth was helpful when I came to this dealership looking for a new Mazdaspeed 3. They had a couple in stock and had one in a color I was looking at so I drove out to it despite it being further fro looking for a new Mazdaspeed 3. They had a couple in stock and had one in a color I was looking at so I drove out to it despite it being further from my house than other dealers. At this point I wasn't sure on getting a hatch or small SUV yet but had already test driven a CX-5. My main purpose was to try check out the Mazdaspeed 3 and see if I could make up my mind. I was greeted and told about the cars and shown them. When asked for a test drive, I initially got a sure hold on. Then after waiting about 20 minutes I was told the manager denied my test drive because they wanted to not put miles on the car. How I'm suppose to decide if I want a car or not without a test drive is beyond me. I understand keeping car miles low but I wasn't asking to take it for an extended drive, just around the block. I asked if I could try out a used one then since they had a few on the lot, and got denied that also. I was told to come back when I was closer to buying and they'd sit down and run some paperwork on my credit and then I could go test drive, which I think is pretty silly. I told them I was 2-3 months out from buying. Needless to say I wasn't thrilled about this, I wasn't offered a test drive either the 2nd time I returned because my parents wanted to see the car as well. I didn't need them to buy it I'm 30 but they like looking at new cars so I took a trip with them. I couldn't get any ballpark pricing or quotes either despite other dealerships being fine with emailing them to me. I ended up going to Continental Mazda of Naperville where they let me test drive one and I bought it new a week later. Pretty simple if you ask me. I guess they just didn't need to sell cars here. I'm very disappointed with the treatment I got and pretty annoyed. So to wrap it up I wouldn't recommend this dealership based on my experience. Perhaps I look young for my age? Regardless I think its garbage to deny test drives. More

My experience in purchasing a car at CJ Wilson Mazda was about as painless as purchasing a new car could be. My salesperson was Bart, a truly great and understanding sales professional. I drive quite a about as painless as purchasing a new car could be. My salesperson was Bart, a truly great and understanding sales professional. I drive quite a bit as I am a regional sales manager. I need a car that is fun to drive and easy to live with on a day to day basis. To be honest, I knew exactly what car I wanted to look at when I arrived at the dealership but I had some specific concerns. Namely, the car had to get good gas mileage. The car I was considering was a Mazdaspeed 3. I told Bart that if was seriously considering the Speed3 I would have to take it out on an extended test drive to verify what mileage it would get in the real world (I don't trust the EPA figures). I first visited the dealer on Friday and Bart and I went straight to the shiny new red Speed3 I called about. I laid out my concerns to Bart and he suggested we take the car for a test drive. We didn't talk price the first day, just as I had asked. He competently answered all of my questions about the car. I wanted to take a look at a few competing cars and I told Bart so. Just like a sales professional he didn't try any tricks, we just looked at the car and I left. After taking a look at a few other cars I emailed Bart asking him to put together a few numbers on the car. He called me back with a pretty fair number right off the bat. At this point I was seriously considering the Speed3 so I told him I needed to take the extended test drive. When I got to the dealership the car was already waiting for me to drive. Bart suggested that I take the car for an hour or two. I hopped in and proceeded to drive it for an hour or so to verify the mileage and just make sure I wanted the car. To me, when a dealership does this they are taking a big risk. The car had 5 miles on it, when I returned it the car had over 50. At this point they know I am semi-serious but were willing to invest in me as a customer to make sure all of my concerns were met. (For those considering a Speed3 the car ended up returning some good mileage. EPA HWY rating is only 25, but if you stay out of the boost you can get mid thirties.) After returning to the dealership we sat down to negotiate. The deal I received was very fair, well below invoice actually. Being a salesperson myself I understand that the dealership has to make money. CJ Wilson being a very high volume dealership still makes money when a car is sold below invoice so I took their offer. The rest of the process was pretty painless. No one pushed "scotchguard this" or "gold plate that". I declined the warranty, signed the documents and Bart proceeded to show me the few things about the car we hadn't previously discussed. He even programmed my phone's Bluetooth link to the car. I tend to shy away from the dealerships with the balloons, gold chains, and pinkie rings so I can't really say that I've had a bad car purchasing experience. I just leave those dealerships. CJ Wilson and Bart are truly class acts and great people with which to do business. I would recommend them to others. More

Two days prior he had called to tell us that the door was broken (wasn't power anymore). We asked for a few hundred off the price and they OK'd that. So we put a deposit on it. We were planning to come and pick up the van, but got a call a few days later (on Mario's day off) that a porter had wrecked the van by running into it with another vehicle. I left a message on Mario's cell phone but he never got back to me. I called him at work the next day and he never answered the phone. I am so disappointed. I have no reason to think that they were being honest with me. What else am I to assume except that someone else offered the $200 more asking price and they took it? Mario had answered my calls every time right away but won't answer my calls now. More
