Took car in with flashing check engine light. Found out that Kia engines have an issue with excessive oil consumption, and not only have I been losing oil, but the excess oil burn had clogged up Found out that Kia engines have an issue with excessive oil consumption, and not only have I been losing oil, but the excess oil burn had clogged up my catalytic convertor. My vehicle was still under the extended warranty that Kia had issued for the problem. We started the process of testing for excessive oil consumption. After several 1000 mile checks and tech testing, we have discovered that I was eligible for engine replacement, and was told it would take about 3 days for Kia to respond. After 2 weeks, I contacted them and was told that Kia would no longer cover their issue under the warranty and that my engine would have to blow in order to qualify....maybe. No one from the service department contacted me regarding this "change". No one reached out to see what else we could do. I left a bad review for lack of contact, and within a few hours, Justin the service manager called me. He then told me he would see what he could do and would ask for a good-will replacement, but that he would contact me back, regardless of the outcome. Almost 2 weeks later, again, no contact or response. Now I have a car that I have to put oil in every 1000 miles and that will plug up the exhaust again because of it. If Kia has changed their rules of the extended warranty or has knowingly sent out bad product and refuses to stand behind it, I cannot really blame this particular service department for that. However, their lack of response (which has been consistently poor from the first time i started this process) is unacceptable service. I would very highly recommend anyone reading this to not buy a Kia and to seek another dealership for any service needs More
