JOE the used car sales manager is DECEPTIVE, UNETHICAL, and HAS ABSOLUTELY NO CONSCIENCE WHAT SO EVER! I had negotiated a sale for 08 Ford Focus SEL, black with black leather and moon roof. Very hard to f and HAS ABSOLUTELY NO CONSCIENCE WHAT SO EVER! I had negotiated a sale for 08 Ford Focus SEL, black with black leather and moon roof. Very hard to find locally. He knew I was to drive 106 miles with a 1 way rented car, to make this purchase. I had spoken with him Re: consumer protection law in IL vs. WI.( undisclosed repairs not showing on Carfax reports etc.) He assured me not a problem. He stated "I don't sell wrecked cars!" and he only holds cars for 30-90 days because of great pricing! Hence, $1500 less than other dealers. I know (Too good to be true it probably is.), my bad. When I arrived I could see the car had a horrible 1 ft. gouge on 2 doors!! The repair, if you can call it that, could be seen from 20 ft. away! Yes, this small oversight ,on his part. Was never communicated to me, in the multiple conversations we had over several days. While, negotiating price to entice me to drive 2.5 hours one way. He would not look me in the face, gave no apology, but did offer me this.. You are buying a used car!! What do you expect? My reply, "This is an abused car and wouldn't give you a penny for it! I will report you to the BBB and file a complaint to the owner!!" I walked out the door and drove 2.5 hours back to Milwaukee. Lesson learned- If our economy isn't enough to put car dealerships out of business, irreputable guys like Joe will!! Good luck River Oaks Hyundai, looks like your reputation is sinking quick!!! Could your problem be Joe? More
Just like the other reviewer, morgan lied to get us to come to the store. We had a 200 mile drive to get there, found a 2002 through autotrader. Called at 6pm friday to confirm it was there and set come to the store. We had a 200 mile drive to get there, found a 2002 through autotrader. Called at 6pm friday to confirm it was there and set up an appointment to see it. Gave him my name, number and told him we would be there before 10AM the next day. Get there before 10 and they claim the car sold the night before. Tried to get us into a car with more than 2x the miles and 5 years older for the same price. After 3 hours of arguing with them, we left with no satisfaction, not even a tank of gas to compensate for the trouble. I would NEVER do business with them. They have no interest in cash sales. They are a predatory finance dealership. They only want "sign and drive, no credit, no problems" style of sales where they can charge a premium for junk vehicles and finance them at 20%+ interest. Stay away. Far away. More
The sales staff including sales manger Morgan lied to me about their current inventory in order to get us to come down to the dealership. They gave us a list of cars they had in which we were going to see. about their current inventory in order to get us to come down to the dealership. They gave us a list of cars they had in which we were going to see. They quoted us the exact mileage, colors, trim line, year, ect. We were apprehensive to drive so far to see the cars since we lived about 2 hours away, but after calling 4 times to verify the information with different staff in the dealership, we decided to trust the sales manager who was our final call, and made the trip out there. I set out with my wife and baby prepared to look at the 4 cars available in the years we were looking for, as well as 4 more they mentioned in 2007 model that we could consider if we were willing to buy newer. It ended up taking us 2.5 hours to arrive, and we were ready to pick one of the cars we had heard about and drive it home. We were just planning to look them over to find the one in the best condition and do a test drive and write a check. Instead, shockingly, not one of the cars they described on the phone that morning and over the past 3 days was actually on the lot. I have heard of car dealers who will tell you they have a car just to get you to come on down and visit the car dealership, and while I think this is unacceptable and shady practice, I know it does in fact happen. We were looking for a very specific vehicle. We specified the year, mileage range, and trim line we were seeking, and were not willing to waver from that. We asked numerous employees in the store of their stock, including the sales manager, and received the same info from each sales person complete with color, trim, miles, price, ect. We felt assured at this point that they would have the cars they told us about and expected to see them on the lot when we arrived. But we were all too trusting it seems. They had similar cars to the ones we were seeking, but all were different in one way or another. They had the colors they told us about, but on 3 the trim line was not what they said, on the other, the price was off by several thousand dollars, and on the three 2007 they suggested we consider, they were about $10,000 off from the price they quoted us on the phone, because they were not actually used at all or near the 20,000 mile range...but demos, with approx 5,000 miles each, for which they commanded a higher price. I have never been so appalled at a sales team in all my life. How an entire group of sales staff, and the manager could all lie about their stock to lure me in, when they all knew we were coming from over 2 hours away and with a baby in tow.....we were in utter disbelief. I have called countless dealerships over the past 3 months, and visited just as many in order to find and buy myself and my wife each a car. This is the only dealership out of at least 50 that lied about their stock, and was so completely rude to us when we showed up. They kept asking what we were looking for as if they didn’t know, and how much we were looking to spend. To this moment I am amazed they would even be in business. Edward Napleton ought to be ashamed of the business he runs, and may he be greeted with the same dishonesty, disregard, and disrespect as we were in all his future dealings. More
